I think it was a very unkind thing for you to say…..why do you upload things?

If I upload something someone likes, and downloads, I’m just happy they have found a use for it.

I upload my sims every once in awhile with a hashtag when I update them in case something happens to my computer or save file, I have done the same with made over townies. My main intention being preservation for myself in case something happens.

I do apologize. I agree with your anti-unpopular opinion I had when I posted that.

It doesn't bother me normally. In fact, I think any creativity is awesome!

Maybe I should go "fav" that person's pool? Heva1026. Heck yeah. <3

I'll delete my "mean" comment too. Put in a nice one. Seriously, for a basic pool, it's not bad. the floaty thingy is a nice touch.

At everyone who just uploads everything out of fear of a computer crash, I understand. Like I said. My unpopular opinion was mean.
Sorry!!!! I totally take it back. :'(

I laughed at your original comment, then read everyone saying it was mean and realized they were right and it was kind of mean. It's a rare miracle to see a person on the internet acknowledge their comment wasn't the kindest and to take it back. No one is perfect, and I hope we all try to catch ourselves, recognize our less kind moments, and respond maturely. Kudos to you for all those things.
My username has been my internet handle for over 20 years since I was 16 and refers to when I had a crush on a very tall boy. I intend absolutely no violence toward beautiful giraffes. <3

    @Rouensims

Actually, that's interesting you say that. The lack of "killing" and "violence" after a zillion years of playing games is what I love now about Sims4. It's creative and makes me laugh. <3:DB)

Sometimes my unpopular opinions are even unpopular with *me*. Like, I saw a comment I made a while back that said I liked children more than toddlers and even thought they were cuter. What!? No, past me. Toddlers are waaaaay cuter.

But here's another one that's in conflict with, well, me:

I want Sims 5, like, yesterday. I get *really* excited about new things. I'm tired of Sims 4. I want something brand new.

But then there's another me, a second me, that says, "Do you want a repeat of 'Olympus' or whatever that was? Do you *want* them to release an inferior product that's missing core elements of the series, like pools and toddlers? They didn't even have *ghosts*. I mean, sure, you don't even like ghosts and get rid of graves as soon as you can, but can you imagine a Sims game without *ghosts*?"

And then the first me is like, "Yeah, but think--*new things*. TS4 has been going on for too long. I want to see something new! I don't care if it's not perfect! I want to see what the Sims team can do with something NEW! I want it now! Now, now, now, now, now!"

Then the second me says, "Wow, you are really childish. You know, you gave your Simself the Bookworm, Geek, and Romantic traits, but you should have given her the Childish trait!"

And a third me says "Ooooh, BURN."
  • Admiral8QAdmiral8Q Posts: 3,326 Member

    @SuperCoolRachael

My third me likes your first you's way of thinking.

My second me agrees with your second you.

My first me finds all three of you's highly illogical, yet quite fascinating and interesting thoughts.

I've seen a lot of players hating social aspects on Sims 4, like welcome wagon, for example or Sims talking with each others when they go somewhere. A lot of players seem to send the welcome wagon away or just ignore them. I've seen a lot of videos where the player gets angry when other Sims dare to talk with their Sims. Those things are actually the things that I love in Sims 4.
Yes, I'm weird that way. My Sims usually love to make new friends and meet the old ones unless they're loners. I love to take my Sims to a bar or a nightclub and watch them socialising.

I don't mind the welcome wagon or when NPC's talk to my sims, the only time where it bothers me is when my sims are out at restaurants, it's especially irksome when they're on dates, especially, especially when they're on lunch/dinner dates. Nothing kills the immersion or mood than a random townie striking up a conversation with my flirty sim and their NPC sweetheart or my/player-controlled husband/wife, gets even more awkward when the sims in question accidentally flirt with the stranger.

I have had to revert back to older saves after dates with NPC's more times than I care to count, because they don't always automatically leave the date lot. Sometimes they'll stick around and if they're still in a flirty mood, they'll go off and flirt with the nearest available sim.
Like I know this can happen irl, but idk it's just really irritating in the sims.
Give our Vampires back their fangs!!! Reverse the Nerf!!! Occult simmers should not be shoved aside for the "realism players"! It's time Occult lovers/players started to demand equal treatment. #JusticeForOccults

I did the same thing, I chuckled until someone mentioned it being mean. I'm bipolar and have unintentionally ruined relationships and eaten crow so many times, I know 10 ways to prepare it! Laughing is what keeps me going but, unfortunately, I tend to laugh before I think.

I like having Woohoo in the game because it's part of life and it is one aspect of the game that is more adult. I wouldn't want GTA style or anything like the stereotypes of so many other games. Mostly, I like the whimsy and play with a lot of the family-friendly content since a number of the households I play end up as happy families and I enjoy good-natured family play but sometimes I play the adult characters through their lives.

I don't think it should be a case of Woohoo vs. Romance. An update to romantic interactions has been needed for a while. I was asking for it back when I became active on the forum. I figured that they were saving that type of pack because they know it will be very popular when they eventually do it. Until then, there have been little bits and pieces like the Sentiments which are an improvement. I actually like Sentiments better than Lifestyles so far.

We are in need of an overhaul for romance so that's not up for debate. I don't like saying, "We shouldn't have so many places for Woohoo because we need more romantic interactions." No one should think that's a main focus of my playstyle. I'm wanting to see a lot of gameplay, but if they stopped updating the Woohoo, I wouldn't be that happy. I don't think we should be leaving out stuff that is being added when we do need more in that area.

All the same, we do need more in-depth updates for romance like having more types of romantic styles, updates to romantic interactions, more compatibility, more for weddings and generally more ways to be romantic. Without being funny these are aspects of character development or gameplay related to romance which is one of the big themes. (Death being another).

I do think they have been working up to that direction and that there are a lot of areas other than romance but yes, it needs a real update.

I like that they've added more places for Woohoo just to add to the gameplay but I also agree the romantic interactions need an overhaul. When you've been with your partner for years, have a family together, etc. and can only "express fondness" or quote soppy poetry, it's disappointing. How hard would it be to just have the option to say I love you? Just to say I love you without serenades or poetry. Those can be funny but it would be nice to have some simpler, normal romantic interactions too.

I could not agree with you more. Even if we had some of the simpler love interactions from Sims 2 back (with similar animations, not the same old ones we always get now), that would be an improvement. From the flirty interactions, I would like to have charm, caress, goose, and sweet talk back. From the hug interactions, squeeze would be nice to have again (I assume the Romantic hug interaction is essentially the same as embrace in the Sims 4); from the kiss interactions I'd like to have peck, smooch, tender and kiss up arm back. They all had unique animations that were very entertaining. (Kiss up arm took a few seconds, so maybe it could be shortened for the Sims 4, but it was still very cute). Finally, it would also be really nice to have the cuddle in bed interaction back; it was very cute.

Ok I think this one is unpopular but I don't think the sims 4 is childish at all. I find the reasons people put to say it's childish is just stuff that were in older games or things that cause more consequences or makes the game harder. But I don't think that really shows how childish or not the game is.

I don't really know how to explain my point lol.

Most premade female sims wear way too much make-up, which makes them look uglier than they really are.

@AngeliqueAdelaide My daughter has fun finding townies and other premade Sims and giving them makeovers. She'll have them wear more makeup with their Formal and Party looks, but that seems realistic, too.

I don't want the sims 5, I want them to continue adding to and fixing the sims 4. If they started adding content again to Sims 3 I would consider playing that one again. I don't want to start over and wait years for things like seasons and clubs in sims 5.

I wish they would bump up the amount of content released each year.

I don't play occults and would be totally cool without ever seeing fairies and please no zombies.

    I don't hate the kits

I would love to see a new style of pack that centers around worlds, world packs. A little more that a stuff pack, little less than a game pack. Set the price around $12-$15. The sims team makes beautiful worlds, I want more of them.

I can't think of ANYTHING more relaxing that sitting next to a koi pond at night and listening to a waterfall, with a campfire and a glass of wine.
Why on earth would I not want that for my Sims? Heck, I'd enjoy that right along with them!

Oh, and the Bubbletron too. 😋

EA, or just about any other corporation these days, doesn't care if their product isn't as good as their last or, if it doesn't work the way it should. I had problems with EA 25 years ago and it's just more of the same today. And they CERTAINLY won't give up the practice of milking every dollar they can out of you by dividing the game up into "packs", to justify spending close to a grand on something that cost 50 dollars twenty years ago. Face it, we really don't "own" anything anymore. Pay off your house and stop paying taxes and see how quickly it's no longer yours.

Baking skill should be basegame. I'm tired of "cooking" cakes, and that eyesore of a cupcake machine was a plum idea for anything that isn't a make-believe baked goods factory.

I wish there was an option to turn off aliens in Get to Work. I want to choose when I play a save with aliens, etc., and sometimes I'd rather not deal with them.

I liked the idea of them at first but I thought they were going to be like pools or fountains in that I can draw them instead of using terrain manipulation. I can't stand the terrain tools/manipulation in general because no matter what the lots and surrounding areas are still so flat that any manipulation makes it look odd. I like the new water styles though and you can use them in pools and fountains. Not sure about the animals but that would be cool too.

You know what I hate? You can't add birthday candles to things that you baked, even the cakes! What if I want my Sim to have a carrot cake or Bundt cake for their birthday? It really bites that you can't do that. They should be able to blow out candles on cupcakes, too.
