I work with nearly all of them or else it is on my list to eventually get to them. For example, I'll play the residential worlds from Snowy Escape more often at some point. Some packs I didn't play at all until I did. For example, now I've thrown some spooky parties. I've used more stuff from Luxury Party than I might have thought. When I added a small pet from My First Pet Stuff to a family with kids, I had to admit that it is very detailed and active.

Whenever I've gotten a pack, I made a decision that I wanted that content. Sometimes I got it rolled into a sale. There were times when I got it right away. Actually, I tend to mix the content and so I use more of it. For example, recently, I moved an actor to one of my last empty lots in StrangerVille as one of those celebrities who move to a remote place to hide out. I realized that I now have quite a few actors going, so I'm using Get Famous quite a bit.

There are individual things that I don't use as much like a lot of the furniture from the early packs. I'll regularly go back though and use older content that I want to work with. I'll replay some of the GTW careers. I go back to Sulani, Selvadorada, Granite Falls and Mt. Komorebi. I add more to places to make them better.

My most recent thing is realizing that I should make better use of the libraries so I'll be doing some editing when I get a chance.
    Champ and Girlie are dogs.

I own every pack minus JtB and the kits, and even in the packs that I feel are easily forgettable, there's something I can use. What also helps is that I rarely pay anywhere close to full price for packs. The last pack I willingly paid full price for was Get Famous. And to this day I dont regret it. That pack is easily my favorite. If I like a pack for a few things, its not enough for me to justify paying full price. I have to love just about everything the pack has to offer, and know that the gameplay isnt going to be a one and done thing.

If I buy a pack full price and realize that the pack isnt what Im looking for, well honestly I feel like I just threw money away. If I wait for sales or more often get ahold of the Amazon gift cards I get every so often and use those, I can enjoy the pack more since I didnt have to use my wallet. Even a pack I dont like doesnt leave a sour taste in my mouth, since I paid basically nothing for it. I remember buying the Knitting pack for less than 50 cents since it was on sale, and had $5 remaining in my Amazon account thanks to a free gift card. I dont care about the concept, but hey I basically got the pack for 99% off and I like the metal music station in my game. No regrets there!

I sometimes get the feeling I am not using enough gameplay from several packs. WheneverI save sims or builds to the gallery, I notice they require most packs I own so I do use the BB and CAS.

The packs that are definitely underused, as in never explored the main feature: cats and dogs, get Famous, kids room stuff, spooky stuff and fitness stuff. Game packs are the ones that score best : I explored the main feature of every single one I own. And that includes journey to Batuu.

I am planning on changing this however. I have just started playing a supersim who will complete all aspirations. I will also try to do those packs that don't have an aspiration like collecting void critters, visit a spa or own a retail store. That way I hope to explore gameplay in every pack.

I don’t regret any of my purchases even if I only use the pack features sporadically. I think I would be more likely to think about such features if they all came with whims that would pop up based on traits and likes. I like for the game to give me some direction on what a sim might want to do, and whims would remind me that those features exist. We can just x them out if we don’t like them... and if the whim library was much larger, it wouldn’t feel like we are always getting the same ones, and the bee box one would show up with much less frequency.

I have all the packs & kits, except JtB & the newest build kit. I play generational (legacy without so many rules), and I’m currently starting generation 22. It’s easy for me to add in at least something from each pack, keeps the save from becoming boring. I’m playing my generation 21 heir as an interior decorator with the new pack, and her child will probably run a farm with the next one. I do have other saves I play sometimes, one dedicated to occult’s, as well as a rotation save with TS2 families. I don’t regret any of the packs, but I know I’ll be picky with kits, and have no plans to get JtB.

I only buy the stuff I actually want, so I don't have any packs sitting around completely unused. I do have a few that didn't make me as happy as I'd hoped, but I still use a good bit of the BB/CAS stuff they brought to my virtual toybox. Just as one example, I mainly got Strangerville for the world because I was running out of space for sims to make homes in one of my saves. I found the quest a bit on the lame side but not wholly unenjoyable... the first time. I'm not really so fond of the BB stuff or most of the CAS items; they make me feel like anyone wearing them should go around saying things like "dagnab it" and singing songs about lonesome whippoorwills and telling stories about the magic of cowboy tears.. or something. But the world itself is gorgeous, and the neighborhood on the plateau is refreshingly free of distracting fake buildings, so once I've replaced the pre-made houses there it's actually awesome. Even so, I'm glad I didn't pay full price for it.
FYI: Just because you can see my signature, don't assume that I can see yours.
Because I can't; I keep all sigs turned off. ;)

I use all the packs in some way - the only pack I don't like and will never get is Batuu. I always make sure there's something I will use in the pack before buying, even if it's on sale.
    Allons-y!

---> Afterlife Game Pack Idea - improved ghosts, cemeteries and funerals, psychics, new skills, new career and more! <---
---> Burglary Stuff Pack Idea - Burglars, alarm systems, and diamonds to steal!<---

The only pack I regret buying is Eco Lifestyle.
Mainly for the NAPS. I don't like having to put in the effort to make sure none of them ever happen.
I'd rather focus on the things I like doing in the game.

I will probably install it after TS4 and done and there are no more patches.
And then I will just mod out everything I don't like about that pack.

I use something from every pack.
I turn the Eco Lifestyle options off on my saves but I use the clothes and b&b objects. Also I never go to work with my DHD Sim, I just send her to work on her on, but I've been using the CAS and b&b options on that pack too. Those two packs are the only ones I don't care about, other than I like the CAS and furniture objects.

I will admit, back in my early days playing Sims 4 I had a bad habit of purchasing packs just to own the content, not necessarily because I thought I would enjoy playing with the theme. Knowing my gameplay style and with the amount of packs available now, I wouldn't have purchased all the packs I did, simply to clean up and declutter my game a little.

I do use a lot of packs in my gameplay, I agree that some packs I haven't used that frequently (like Batuu) kind of annoying because it feels like a waste of money. Luckily, I don't have that for many packs.

Perhaps they have fixed things since when I had it, but I disable voting and I still had sims behaving as if NAPs had been activated.
Also there were some NAPs that I thought I would like, but they turn out to be annoying as well. Bottom line is there is more I dislike about the pack than I like and just isn't worth the bother for me. I don't even like the world. All those fake houses and large spaces of nothing makes the homes feel isolated.

I think there has always been something that I have liked in a pack so I don't think I have ever regretted buying one.

The only one I can recall that I felt was not really worth it was maybe Tiny Living but I was kinda disappointed with the state of the game overall back then (I am more happy with the state of the game now), there was so many bugs and I waited several months to buy it. When I finally bought it I didn't understand why so many Game Changers had been so positive about it.

@Beardedgeek just get @icemunmun's canning mod . If you like it then use it.

Outdoor retreat world can be blah, but I enjoy fishing and foraging in the game, so I like it. I replaced some of the lodges. And I love the CAS. My sims camp everywhere. You can plop a tent down at a sims house and sleep there and they won't care. Especially great for sims who love the outdoors. Don't need to really build a full fledge house for them. Just a few sheltered rooms. They LOVE sleeping in the tent.

Use your imagination and you will find uses for the packs you have. I find uses for all the packs I own. I hate parenthood because I hate kids making a mess all the time, but other than that I like everything else about the pack and that is my least favorite pack.
    Owens-EPGPSP-Sims4.png

I may or may not purchase another pack, although I want EL for everything except three of the NAPS which do not vibe with my values and is why I haven't purchased the pack. If they update it to make it so you can deselect certain NAPS like you can deselect certain music in the game then I may purchase it.
    musicsims.png

Also, I might not purchase another pack, because it is starting to get like TS3 where they released Island Paradise which is the most buggy world and basically broke the game with the lagging and routing issues, freezes and crashes.

@simgirl1010 me too, there are elements in every pack I use. I really haven't explored all there is to do in the packs I own and plan to do that. I started creating builds for certain packs I might go back and do themed rooms that are pack specific just so that I acquaint myself with everything.

I regret buying the Dust kit. It's the only kit I have. I turn off the dust system from time to time because I hate the sparkles when everything's clean. I do love the vacuums though.

I don't have everything yet, I don't think I will ever get everything because of how expensive they are, and for me I don't think it's practical to have everything. So far I don't regret buying the packs I currently have except the Dust kit.

On the next sales I will get a few more, I always need to read and watch reviews so I won't regret later on.

    Agree completely with @simgirl1010
I literally use everything everywhere in some way. Gave every world a theme so each world has a use. I thought I wouldn't really use eco lifestyle stuff but it's my most used. Outdoor retreat camping stuff I use literally everywhere.

Actually thinking about it discover university is my least used because I was never interested in the Uni life to began with. And my sim dropped out. Never understood the hype for it lol
Still no regrets in buying it though and I love the bikes

Oh, I even use a lot of interactions and the stuff from JTB🤭🤭 my sim commands troopers as head of the police force and goes around checking I.Ds
Zombies, oh please oh please give us zombies!! :'(

I think Cottage Life will be the first EXPANSION pack I won't buy. The other packs I have stayed away from has all been released in 2020 / 21: Namely JTB and the kits. I have not bought a single kit nor will I (except for an 80s exercise kit, as I have mentioned above. I am a sucker for neon legwarmers ;) )

I have also been less and less interested in new expansions anyway and I think that has to do with the fact that we are almost back to what Sims 3 had. Now it just seems like they are pushing out things to keep the game alive.

At this point I own every friggin’ pack out there because:

    1. I’m a Madman.
    2. It keeps Madman off the streets.
    3. Madman uses every single one of the packs.
    4. Madman thinks it’s fun and doesn’t have time not to have fun.

Like many others around here I don’t play one pack at a time and frankly I don’t even know how one does that? How do you “play a pack?”
Let’s say I can go very long without playing with a vampire or a spellcaster yet I use everything else from the packs except the vampire/ spell caster system. A year later my game is full of occult systems and less about…the rest.

I always thought Get Famous was my least favorite pack until I realized I’m constantly using the crazy costumes, the decor sets and the sword fight scenes for my fantasy saves. One day I will play a celebrity again.
It just depends on what save I’m interested in playing. I’m someone who can enjoy almost every movie or music genre depending on mood and same goes for game genres or themes.

My individual play style is character/ story driven and for that reason the packs beautifully compliment each other. I don’t dislike any of the packs (I wish some would have more or better for sure!) but overal I’m super happy with my current collection. No I don’t smoke other worldly herbs in case anyone is wondering. I’m easily inspired is all. 🤓

@Beardedgeek not everyone's a country living farming fan so maybe the next pack will be more to your liking. Is there any theme you'd like to see before the game comes to an end?

That's the point tho; I really don't see one. I am really not into supernatural Sims (except vampires and I actually have grown to like mermaids but that's probably more from actually loving Sulani). Eco Living and Tiny Living are two of my favorite packs and those were complete surprises tho, so I don't know.

Farming I never cared about, never used horses in Sims 3, just dogs and cats. Quite frankly now what I really want is an official overhaul that makes MCCC obsolete. Meaning GOOD story progression, ability to turn off and on all supernaturals in Settings (including the most annoying ones: Ghosts), better population algorithms (so the game uses less random townies for things), and ability to turn off all "help" (random cash gifts in game etc) to truly up the difficulty, and a few other things. I genuinely have no idea what kind of other packs I would want at this point (I never liked the Future pack for Sims 3).

My complaints are mostly with the Dust Bunnies. I hate this pack! When it first was announced I loved the idea...sims doing household chores, right. It is the only pack I have that I have the main feature disabled, which doesn't make any sense since that is the pack. Gah!! :s It wasn't for trying, depending on the patches from EA that didn't work, depending on mods that don't work, I just give up. Good thing it only cost $5.

With that being said, I use every pack I've bought, even C&D CAS is nice and this one is way down on the list of favorites. :D

I mean of course one will always use something from each pack but I think there are a lot of packs which aren't used to the extend they were bought for because some things will get boring easily or not have any effects and no reason to play. (at least for me and many people I see playing)

I think you can totally see this in the way people play the Sims 4 on Youtube, they might use an item or two but there are so many main features from packs people don't use. I never see anyone own a restaurant, I never see anyone use the climbing wall from Fitness stuff, I never see anyone open bakeries etc...

Using one or two stuff from each pack is at the end of the day inevitable but I do see a lot of people not play with 70% of the stuff a pack offers.
Where's my Sims 5 squad at?

I use all the packs, but Dine Out gets used the least because I never send my Sims to a restaurant. I got it as part of a bundle, though, so no big deal.

I also have all the packs and use a variety of items in each pack depending on which type of gameplay I am using at the time. I am looking forward to the new pack as I have gardening farms and am very excited about finally using animals on my farms! I have Journey to Batuu and enjoyed playing it, but I use it as a vacation spot for my families with adults and children who are Star Wars fans. Think alot of it would fit well if we ever get an alien planet style world as well. Overall, I don't have a pack I regret buying. My biggest disappointment is more with the bugs that occur that affect gameplay.
