Kinda indifferent on this one. I hope farming will actually have some kind of challenge since I do love having to manage stuff in the Sims, so I've hopes for that. I was hoping for horses too, but we got bunnies instead... which I'm not into. It also seems like the speculation for Fairies wasn't true.

I'm not so sure about the buy by september 2nd and you will get three additional items. It's kinda like a pre-order but not really because it's available for a month after release. It doesn't mix well with them releasing their packs with bugs where we have to wait months for them to be fixed, I still have trouble with my plants reverting to dirt piles.

Pretty sick they are directly exploiting people who are completionist about owning the whole collection, pushing them to buy sooner or else miss the chance to own it all. First kit packs and now this, they are never gonna stop pushing worse and worse monetization. People have had fears about what the monetization would be like for a sims 5, but they're already making it worse now.

Not to mention the wasted artist and design work that will only ever be usable by a limited number of players who bought within a few months.

Limited time special items have typically been a physically produced item, which is why they were somewhat justified as limited time; producing each one requires allocating the resources to do so and ordering in bulk to save costs. A digital item like this costs virtually nothing to produce and deliver units of it once it's actually finished (really only the cost of hosting and download where relevant), so they are just arbitrarily locking off something into exclusivity to make more money.

It's to push sales, and yeah, it sucks for the consumer. I think they want to make sure that their next quarter sales are good.

I don't think you should be a completionist because you will have to pay more for it when they do things like this... but I understand it's difficult if you really want all items.

Wait, I don't understand what the problem is. If you order before a specific time, you get three free items. Would you rather the items not be given out at all?

Besides, it's coming out in July if I remember correctly, and the end date for ordering is September, over a month away.

Wondering when the embargo for the Game Changers lifts, does anyone know? Is it usually a while before or just a few days?

I'm absolutely on the "More Occults, Please" bandwagon and am still hoping we get werewolves and fairies eventually, but I'm actually really excited for this pack.

I loved the new build/buy items I saw in the trailer, and I'm SUPER excited about all the new animals...especially the chickens.

In real life, I have a pet Silkie Bantam rooster who I raised from a baby. He wears a diaper and lives in the house just like any other kind of house pet would, and he's amazing...so seeing Sims interact with the chickens in the trailer made me really happy. Yay, pet chickens!!! <3

I usually wait for packs to go on sale, but I will probably get this one as soon as it's released, provided the pre-release patch doesn't break my game the way the last two have.

Here's to hoping the disappearing garden bug finally gets resolved with this EP, too. *Fingers Crossed*

Definitely looking forward to seeing more about game play between now and when the new pack is released. :)

No, probably not, but I know Clare Siobhan has recorded making a lot for the pack, so I was hoping she could share that soon-ish. Maybe the others have as well..

the problem is that it makes customer think they have to buy the pack now and its not choice of " when you have money you can add items you want"

and that the items will not be available after that time period so say if you started playing sims 4 later, didnt notice the new ep dropping or you couldnt afford the ep right when it released you can't have those items ever

so what is the point of making the so called "bonus content" when truth is way less people will be able to play these now

and why couldn't those just be in pack itself just like other stuff cause well they surely made them within the pack budget lmao

basically its same as if they had just taken idk the rugs out of new decorator pack and said people cant ever have those if they don't buy the pack right now

thats just some really stupid nonsense only brought to you by ea being money hungry

also you cant really say the items are given away. youd still have to spend 40e on the pack to have it. its not free.

also do i personally want to buy this pack when it releases? most likely. but also now that they put that bonus content nonsense thing there honestly i dont want to encourage it so i might as well not buy it full price out of spite.

= pack seems good but I'm very tired of marketing making everything awful like i know its their job but really

As someone who is currently only playing historical saves, this EP is amazing for me! Wool from llamas, chickens, grocery stores, village fairs, needlework, group cooking, and cows that can produce milk. Yes to all of the above!!!!! Oh and of course my favorite NPC, Miss Crumplebottom is returning to smack some propriety into sims who get a little too touchy out in public.

I liked the trailer but rather wait for more info, I am neutral on it right now as I know it will not add any features I am looking for. :)

Did anyone notice the guy with orange skin and green hair? I wonder if they’re redoing plantsims. He certainly does look like a plant sim...

This would be the perfect pack to do them.

Yeah, I am not personally, especially in the face of increasingly exploitative practices like this, but I feel for those who are. Whether because they want a complete collection or they're dealing with FOMO (fear of missing out). But whatever the reasons for people wanting to be that way, the corporate goons know it's a thing and they'll exploit it relentlessly.

I think for a lot of people, myself included, I'm frustrated with it in the sense that they've already created the items so just put them in the pack. Same with the Country Kitchen Kit. They made it knowing full well they were releasing a Cottage style pack that it would fit perfectly with. We could have just had two new kitchen sets but instead you have to buy one for $5 if you want that style of furniture in your game.

If it's any comfort I don't think the developers at Maxis cares about that, they just want to finish their deadlines and projects. They don't see it as cutting something from anything because they just work on parts that ends up in different packs.

I don't think we would have gotten two kitchen sets in this expansion pack anyway, not without them having to cut down on other build&buy items, probably, it's hard to tell just from the trailer how much content there is in the pack.

I like the look of this pack and I especially love that Agnes Crumplebottom is coming back, she is my favorite sim in TS3. I also hope this new world has more than seven lots, the trailer made the world seem vast.

The bonus content could be better.

@sims2freak737 if it makes you feel any better they are actually including a kitchen set with this EP athat is country cottage theme so people don't have to buy the country kitchen kit at all. They'll have one in this pack. I think they probably put one in there on purpose to avoid this sort of upset.

My biggest concern is how the cows and llamas are going to work. Those little stone buildings/stables with the blacked out doorway clearly aren't actual buildings so my guess is the animals are tied to them. This in and of itself isn't a a problem it's just that they have a very specific aesthetic. My bigger worry is that in all the clips it appears that there are two of those buildings placed whenever the sims are interacting with two animals, I really hope it isn't a one animal per building type of a deal so that if you want five cows you have to place down five separate stables?!

I agree with the aesthetic side. Imagine building a victorian house with a victorian farm but the house for animals is a rural like design...

I would have love if they just do it like in Planet Coaster or Planet Zoo. Super modular objects. What if rather than the whole pet house comes decorated, We could just receive a black Square object that act as a spawner and then decorate the pet house around it. Then you just click on the box then you can order which animal to place. that would offer so much flexibility

Heck, maybe I'm just from a different universe, but personally the way I see it is: Option A: If you buy this pack within this time, you get three free items in addition to your paid content. or Option B: The free stuff just doesn't exist.

I really don't think it's as bad as you're making it out to be. It's not like it's something special locked behind a buy-by-date, like bunnies or something. If they took the bunnies and said "Hey, you're only allowed to have these if you order by a specific time." it'd be an entirely different story!

Also I don't see how it's money hungry, it's going to cost the same amount regardless. The only reason it would cost less is if it went on sale past September, and since the packs seem to be on sale so often, the pack might even be on sale before the end date.

(One more side note and then I have to go: it's not "right now" it's July 22- September 2, if I remember the release date right. That's over a month)

Shoot I prefer this method of bonus objects rather than the previous versions of pre-order bonus content that was not the same for every store so if you wanted the whole collection, you had to buy the game from each store. Don't even get me started on TS2's Dr Pepper crap! I'm sure CC creators will make that stuff available.

well this time the objects may seem innocent fun but I just don't want to encourage this practice

because to me it makes no freaking sense to have time limit to an object. regardless of what object it is.

and it also makes no sense to give object only to select few when its digital content.

and it also makes no sense to call it free when its not.

    + one month...
its not nearly enough for someone who didnt have money to buy the pack in first place to magic the money out of thin air.

or someone who wasnt playing the game at the time to notice it exists

or old sims player to jump back to game if they were on hiatus during this

like um nah. it still annoys me.

we dont need "exclusivity" to sims
and we don't need added fear of missing out
things should be available for everyone all the same regardless of when they buy it

    @sims2freak737

Thanks so much for posting the youtube video link about this pack I had no idea about the pack until right now :)

Talking/singing with birds, cute bunnies everywhere, chickens, milking cows, llamas and even a cute fox I hope my sims can be friends with then yes a thousand times to that.. :)<3

A new world I like the look of.

Some kind of vegetable/festival village challenge.. hopefully some new plants and possibly some new recipes as we see egg cracking into bowls.

    swimming in ponds

one of my all time sim favorites Mrs crumplebottom wielding that handbag in style yet again <3

It appears hopefully we are getting some good gameplay with this pack.

    A couple of observations:

I sincerely hope the long term gardening bug gets fixed as if not it could seriously hamper gardening play with this sort of pack.

A missed opportunity to add fairies which would have been awesome in a pack like this too :)
