Ok this is weird and I don't understand it, but either earlier in this thread or somewhere else, I followed this advice and it worked! Go into your Sims 4 folder, find the note file called "Game Version," open it up. If it says anything other than 1.75.125.1030, replace that number by copy-pasting the correct version number. Save, and restart the game. I did this before I started it up the first time and it didn't even disable mods the first time!
My username has been my internet handle for over 20 years since I was 16 and refers to when I had a crush on a very tall boy. I intend absolutely no violence toward beautiful giraffes.
@s_stutler what is recommended is a 50/50 to find which mods are working and which are broken. Also, don't forget to remove your localthumbcache in your Sims 4 folder. I forgot to do that once and some of the mods even though I removed them acted like they were still installed causing issues in the game.
However, that isn't how I do it. I remove my mods folder delete everything that isn't CC making note of which mods are the ones I use and reinstall the mods I use 1 by 1 and remove localthumbcache. It's a more tedious process but it works for me.

I did as you said and actually deleted the default eyes and now all BG eyes have the cc wrench on them
Did you delete localthumbcache as well? I think it might be worth heading to one of the support Discords: Deaderpool or Sims After Dark.

they are very similar so i got confused.. I have got Chingyu's in my game and they are working fine for me, so I don't think they are broken..

A mild warning about using Love and Hate mod preferences together with EA Likes and Dislikes:
The gist is, you can probably make them conflict in priority where they overlap (ex: Fitness) and are set in opposition (e.g. one is Hate, the other is Like), though this shouldn't cause any major issues, just means one won't impact autonomy the way it's supposed to.

I forgot to mention yesterday that I'm true with checking and updating my mods. Any mods that were not included with the last two update files should be fine with the patch.
On another note...
For those who are bothered by the pop-ups. While I don't think that is a bug, I have made a quick mod by request yesterday that stops other Sims than the currently active houshold from developping likes and dislikes:

I hope this isn't a dumb question but on page one I noticed Triplis had reported all mods okay (with a few provisions) - does this include the XML Injector which I am lead to understand Triplis has been maintaining since we lost Scumbumbo? Thanks for any info on this.

Apparently, I had this mod too (an older version of it) and I did not remember downloading it. I deleted it and I'll see if my menu will be fixed in game.
