The Blakes and the Bakers (title to be changed at a later date)

So the story starts with these 2 families: The Blake's and The Baker's.

This is the Blake's: left from right is Thomas Blake who is an elder, Lily Blake who is an adult and Daniel Blake who is a young adult.

Thomas who was an adult when he married Lily who was a young adult at the time because he grew up in a family who still believes that the older men should marry younger women so that the women could give them a bunch of kids. But sadly, Lily wasn't able to give Thomas the big family that he wanted as she had problems getting pregnant or staying pregnant when she got pregnant. So she had to go through fertility treatments to see if that would help. So when she got pregnant with Daniel and gave birth to him, she was happy but she wasn't able to have anymore kids after him.

Thomas is from a family who made their money from oil drilling in Appaloosa Plains, so he had inherited the family fortune when his dad had passed away. He ran the company in hopes that he could pass it down to his kids to run but Lily wasn't able to have anymore kids and Daniel had already proclaimed that he wasn't interested in taking over the company, so he sold it to one of his board members that he knew that he could trust with it. Thomas took the money that he got from the sale of the company and had started a car dealership selling cars of course.

Lily's background story will be posted at a later date once I can figure out how I want her bio to go...

Daniel, who is an only child of Thomas and Lily is in love with Amanda Baker much to his dad's disapproval as Thomas expects his son to follow the family tradition of marrying a younger woman than Amanda as she is just a few months younger than Daniel is. Daniel and Amanda has known each other since they were toddlers as Amanda's family lives across the street from him.

Baker's Bio
Charles and Mary got married right after high school because they were so in love with each other and wanted to start a family right away. Charles inherited the family farm which used to be bigger than it is now. When the Baker's had fallen on some bad times, the town mayor of Appaloosa Plains offered to buy some of the land from them so that they could use it as the towns fairgrounds and so he agreed to the sale and so the fairground is right next door to the Baker's. Thomas Blake had offered to buy the rest of the family farm which has the house that the Baker's live in with the promise that once the Baker's could get back on their feet and maintain the farm that he would give the land back to them.

Mary Baker came from a family of cooks, so she was always in the kitchen helping her grandmother, mother and aunts with the cooking which led her to want to be a top chef. That dream hasn't been fulfilled yet as the family had fallen on some hard times but still hopes that she can be one one day soon. She is also witch which Charles already knew about years before they got married but he still loved her anyhow and understood that any kids that they might have could end up being witches or warlocks themselves.

Amanda Baker who's parents are Charles and Mary Baker is also Daniel's girlfriend much to her parents approval as they know that he is a very good young man. Daniel has always been there for Amanda and protecting her from the mean kids in school. He too knows about her and her mom being witches but he doesn't care as he loves Amanda anyhow and would do anything for her.

The set up of my store...

I have 2 pictures today that I just want to show off for a story that I'm trying to set up. I've been trying to play my Sims game for a little bit during the day until the hubby comes home and then it's off to play some World of Warcraft. So you can say that I've been trying to split my gaming between the 2 games as I have a story just brewing in my head that I want to try to play out...

This is a house that I've found in the library that I've placed in AP for my story. I've changed the color of the siding and the roof as well as the windows/doors and the pillars holding up the porches as I didn't want the house to have the gray color siding and roof. And I've added fencing around the house as well...

And a shot of the backyard after adding a pool and hot tub to it. I'm probably not finished adding to the yard yet as I want some more trees or shrubs and flowers in the yard...

So I went and changed some things with the hot tub as I wasn't too crazy about it. So I've added a patio with the hot tub sitting on it and fence railings going around it as well as some shrubs for privacy. I've also had a pool house next to where the hot tub and pool is with an outdoor shower...

Now the other 2 parental members of this household also decided to try out the pool as well...

I sent one of the members of the household to buy this house and land, so I've added some things to it for the 2 sims that will be the owners of this house...

I've also added a small garden along with the tractor for the father to do some farming...

Charles Baker who has the Vehicle Enthusiast trait working on the classic car from the Gold version of Roaring Heights. He also has the handy trait as well.

Daniel Blake using the outdoor shower after his swim in the swimming pool. The outdoor shower is located on the side of the bath house that's facing the hot tub so that there is a little bit of privacy for anyone using the hot tub as well as the outdoor shower.

The University mascot had changed out of his costume thinking that he was going to use the pool but Thomas told him to leave the property as the pool wasn't for him to use.

When Charles got done working on the car, he went to fertilize the garden on his tractor.

Amanda decided to try her hand at working on the car while her dad is tending to the garden. She can't wait to see what the car looks like when it's finish. She's also hoping that he gives her the car once it's finished.

Mary Blake is inside reading a book as she has the bookworm trait.

When Mary finishes reading the book, she heads on outside to give Charles a hug while Amanda sits in the car. She's thinking about the day when it's finished and hoping that her dad will let Daniel drive it around sometime if he doesn't give the car to her.

Mary goes back inside to prepare dinner for her family, so she cooks up some Mac & Cheese...

While Lily is cooking hotdogs out on the grill for her family. (I have to go and change her choice of swimwear for her as that just doesn't look right on her.)

Because Charles has a good sense of humor, he was making faces at his daughter while she was laughing at him and then she makes faces at him as well.

Charles starts talking about his vegetable garden stating that he can't wait to grow enough to sell to the grocery store as well as keeping some for the family to eat.

Lily ends up dropping a hot dog on the patio floor and then ends looking around to make sure that no one saw that as she bends over to pick back up and to clean it off before putting it back on the grill.

Once Mary finishes cooking dinner, she calls for Charles and Amanda to come grab a bowl and they all go take a seat at the dining room table. Mary talks about art with Charles and Amanda.

When Lily finishes grilling the hot dogs, Thomas grabs his plate and sits at the outside bar while Daniel takes his plate over to the outdoor dining table. (You have to excuse Daniel for not changing his clothes before eating as he still has his swim goggles on.)

Mary decides to try her hand at working on the body of the car before she heads inside to go to bed...

While Amanda cleans up the dinner dishes that was used.

Once Amanda finishes getting the dishes cleaned, dried and put away, she heads on upstairs to where her room is to get ready for bedtime.

Mary and Charles is also in bed already. Their room is on the 1st floor right next to where the kitchen is. Charles starts to dream about painting while Mary dreams about cooking and learning more recipes.

Amanda snugged nice and tight into her bed dreaming about Daniel and whatever adventures lay ahead of them.

Thomas and Lily are also nice and tight in their bed as well...

While Daniel is down on the 1st floor shooting hoops on his basketball arcade machine as he isn't tired yet.

Then he plays a little bit of pinball and whack-o-gnome before he heads off to bed.

When the next morning came, Charles got out of bed and was excited to watch his wife still sleeping.

Charles got dressed as quietly as he can so that he could get outside and tend to his garden by harvesting what was already grown before breakfast was ready.

Mary had already heard him getting up and dressed so she got up and went out to the kitchen to start fixing pancakes for breakfast...

While Lily was fixing waffles for her family while she was still in her nightgown.

Thomas was already out and about early this morning when a town member came riding by him on her horse.

So while Mary's pancakes were cooking, Charles was still outside tending to his garden with fertilizing and watering it before he did anything else for the day.

Once breakfast was done, Charles, Mary and Amanda each had grabbed their plate of pancakes and sat down at the table to eat them. Charles wasn't too happy that Amanda didn't change out of her nightie before coming downstairs for breakfast. Amanda told him that she was too hungry to worry about putting on decent clothes before coming downstairs.

The Blake's also sat down for their waffle breakfast as well. Everyone was satisfied with their waffles that Lily fixed for them this morning.

Charles told Amanda that there was no excuse for her not to change into decent clothes and Amanda tried to apologize to her dad for being in such a hurry to get downstairs to eat.

This is Blake's Car Dealership that Thomas Blake started up in hopes that Daniel will take over since Daniel is into cars. And if Daniel doesn't take it over, then he's hoping that if and when Daniel has any kids that one of them will take it over and run it.

Daniel got one of those annoying, pesky scam calls, so he told them where to go with their scam.

Daniel decided to go for a road in his car.

When Daniel got back from his drive, he went over to Amanda's house as he has something important to ask Charles.

He told Charles how much he loves his daughter and that he wanted to ask him if he can get his permission to ask Amanda to marry him.

So Charles gave his blessing to Daniel and said that he would love him to be a part of the family.

Daniel had gotten a call from the Hueber Associates & Kim Gould's Steakhouse to fix some leaky plumbing in the restaurant, so he went to see what he could do to fix their problem so that the health department wouldn't close them down.

Mary was at home binge watching the hit show "Sims Kitchen" on the Cooking Channel where she had learned a variety of recipes such as Frog Legs, Vegetarian Chili, Fish & Chips, Chili Con Carne, Cheese Plate, Hot & Sour Soup, Egg Rolls, Bouillabaisse, Ratatouille, Mushroom Omelette, Cookies, Shawama and Fruit Parfait. She knew how to do some of them before but didn't realize that there was different ways to prepare them. So now she has a total of 29 recipes that she can fix plus now she has the "Menu Maven" in her book as well as being level 4 in cooking.

Amanda was upstairs practicing her painting. She could only start with a small painting and when she was done, it was worth 3 simoleons, so she kept it as it wasn't worth anything to sell it.

Lily was outside reading the newspaper so she can keep up with all of the daily news around town.

Charles went outside to work on the cars engine as we wants to get the car done before winter sets in.

Amanda went downstairs after she was done with her painting and asked her mom how her day was going. Mary told her about some of the recipes that she just learned from 'Sims Kitchen' and Amanda told her mom about the painting that she just did. Then Amanda told her about the athletic opportunity that she just got to go to Shang Simla to do, so her mom had asked if she was taking Daniel with her and Amanda told her that she hadn't even said anything to him yet about it.

After Amanda got done talking with her mom, she called Daniel up and asked him to come over as she has something that she want's to tell him. So when he got done with his side job, he came right on over and give Amanda a loving kiss.

After they were done kissing and had pulled away from each other, Amanda went on to tell him about her upcoming trip to China and wanted to know if he wanted to go with her and he said yes. So she called the travel agency to get 2 round trip tickets to Shang Simla and when the travel agent had asked for their travel Visa information, she gave them hers but Daniel said he never got a travel Visa before as he didn't know if he ever was going to do any traveling. So Amanda was only able to get 1 ticket for herself as it was too late in the evening for Daniel to apply for one.

Once Amanda had landed and was taken to the base camp, she went and checked the adventure board to see what events and activities was taking place for that day. So she saw an adventure that wants her to go to the Halls of the Lost Army and decided that would be a fun adventure to do. But before she had to go there, she had to go meet with Jiannan Lu to get more info on what she needed to do as well as get the 1st keystone that she would need once she figures out how to unlock the secret entrance to the catacombs that lay beneath the Hall.

So once she accepted the adventure from the board, she pulls out her broom and make her way up the hill to where Jiannan Lu lives. Once she gets there, she goes over and introduces herself to Jiannan Lu and told her that she was here for the adventure that she had posted on the board at the base camp.

After chatting with Jiannan Lu, she headed back down the hill and went towards the center of town where she decided to see what Biyu Shen has to offer but her wares couldn't be brought yet as Amanda needed to have some Visa points towards her Travel Visa.

After talking to Biyu Shen, Amanda headed on over to the Hall of the Lost Army where she noticed a strange tile on the floor that didn't look like the rest of the flooring, so she went and stepped on it to see if it would do anything. Once she stepped on it, it revealed a hidden staircase that led downstairs to the catacombs.

Once she got downstairs and had did a search of the hallway, she spotted the key shaped plaque on the wall that was the same shape of the keystone that Jiannan Lu had given her.

So Amanda had pulled the keystone out of her travel bag and hefted it up as high as she could so that she could get the keystone into the plaque. She had to try it a few times as she kept missing the hole in the plaque but finally got it in.

After she had managed to get it in and had pushed as hard as she could, the chains on the door had unlocked and fallen to reveal another room. Once she entered into the room, she saw another odd floor tile as well as a heavy looking statue. She studied the statue and the floor tile for a bit to figure out what she needs to do to get the door unlock so that she can see what's on the other side of it.

Once she figures out that she needed to pull the statue so that it sits on the odd tile, she moves it and the door unlocks to reveal another room with the same statue and odd tile. So she goes in and has to push that one onto the tile so that the other tile can be stepped on to unlock the door.

Once the door opened up and Amanda went through it, she saw 6 more of those heavy statues with 5 of them blocking the pathway as well as some flashing light coming from the floor in front of them. So she started talking out loud trying to figure out how she was going to get to the other side of the room. She wondered if she pushes the middle statue forward just a little bit if she would get electrified, so she went ahead and took her chances as she was saying a silent prayer to herself.

She pushed and pushed until the electricity coming from the floor had stopped and then it was safe to walk around the statue. Once she got to the other side of the room, she saw a pile of debris sitting on top of the floor tile that she needs to use to open the next doorway in the catacombs.

She needed to look around the room for anything that she could use to remove the debris and found that there was an pickaxe laying close by and went over to get it. As she was getting ready to make the first hit on the debris, she said out loud that she wished that Daniel was here to help her with pushing and pulling the heavy statues and to use the pickaxe. She just kept using curse words as she kept swinging away with the pickaxe until the debris was cleared enough away from the floor tile so that she can use it.

But once she had stepped on the tile, it didn't open the door that was next to it but instead opened up the wall opposite of the locked door revealing a hidden room. So she went inside of it and saw more statues that she needed to move to get to the chests that was in the room. She found a Crystal Cut Jade, 2 high quality dried food and some ancient coins that she threw in her bag that she was carrying with her. She would count those later once she was done with this adventure as she doesn't have the time to do so now.

As she was exiting the hidden room, she saw another hole in the wall and went over to check it out. She put her hand inside hoping that there wasn't anything in there that could harm her and felt around until she felt something the left like a rope and pulled on it. Thankfully she heard a clicking noise and heard the chains fall away from the door, so she knew that everything was going to be alright now.

She entered through the door and saw another keystone plaque on the wall with a star shape indentation in it and knew that she needed to find herself a star key to use on it.

She looked around the room and saw a well in there, so she went over to inspect it. She didn't find the keystone laying around the well, so she thought that maybe she should get inside of it and search around the bottom of it.

So as she was diving head first into the well, she was hoping that this well doesn't go on forever and that she's able to get back to this room. As she was swimming through the tunnels, she saw a light and had to make a choice of coming back or going towards the light and so she chose to go towards the light in hopes that's where the star shaped keystone is. Once she reaches the top of the dive well and she climbs out, she spots a chest on the opposite end of the room. So she heads on over to it and opens it up and sees the keystone inside, so she grabs it and and places it into her bag before diving back into the dive well.

She managers to make it back to the 1st dive well despite the keystone being a little heavy but she did it anyhow as she knew that she needed to get this adventure over with so that she can see what other adventures needed to be done before heading back home in Appaloosa Plains.

Once she gets out of the dive well, she takes the keystone out of her bag and places the star into the hole so that it can open the door. She goes inside and raids the chests inside of the room where she finds a dive well fragment, the ancient relic that she needs for the quest and a Chinese Broken Vase as well as some more coins.

Once she's done in there, she heads on back up the hill to Jiannan Lu to give her the relic that she requested. Amanda had collected a total of 79 ancient coins while she was in the Hall of the Lost Army.

When Amanda was done talking with Jiannan Lu, she went back to the base camp where she called Daniel to let him know that she got safely to China as she didn't have time to call him when she first got there.

She went on to tell him about her 1st adventure of the day and what all she had to do to get the ancient relic that she needed to find for Jiannan Lu. She also told him about the ancient coins that she found today while exploring the catacombs.

She then asked him if had a chance to go and apply for his travel visa so that they could come back to China together and he told her that he went first thing in the morning when the travel agency opened up. He told her that it could take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months to get but the travel agent told him that he should have it in 2 weeks as he didn't see any issues with Daniel's background that would keep him from traveling.

When Amanda and Daniel got done talking on the phone, she headed off to bed as she was quite exhausted from her 1st day adventure.

Morning came and Amanda was up early, so she went downstairs to try to fix a waffle breakfast for everyone. She didn't care if she was still in her nightie even though she knew that her dad wouldn't approve of it but he wasn't here to scold her for not being dressed properly for breakfast.

But when the waffles were done, she wasn't too happy about them as they had turned out to be burnt. She did everything that her mom did when she fixes waffles and she even had them in for the same amount of time but they still didn't turn out like her mom's waffles. So she ended up throwing them away and opted for a bowl of cereal instead.

After she got her bowl of cereal, she took it out to the dining area with another tourist was eating his bowl of cereal as well.

When she was done with her breakfast, she grabbed her bowl as well as the gentleman's bowl and washed them up. She knew that she didn't need to do that but she's used to cleaning the dishes at home so she didn't mind cleaning up someone else's dirty dishes.

When the dishes were done, she went back to the adventure board to see what new adventures might be posted there. She saw an adventure that takes you to investigate the Dragon's Cave, so she decided to take on the adventure as she thought that sounds like it would be fun.

When she got to the riverbank, there was a water taxi already waiting for her to take her to the other side of the river so she got in.

When the water taxi got to the other side, she thanked the driver and tipped him before exiting the taxi. Then she jogged up the hill to the Dragon's Den which was on a long winding path but she wasn't bother by it since she was very athletic and could handle the jog with ease.

As she approached the den, it emitted a fog from it's mouth. She was also quite impressed with the size of the dragon's head carved from stone on the side of a mountain. She wished that Daniel was here to see this but she knew that once he get's his visa that she will be bringing him back here with her so that he could see what she has already seen.

After she was done looking around and being impressed by the massive size of the Dragon's head, she went over to the wall to inspect it to see if there was a way inside of the den.

After feeling around on the wall for a while and didn't find any hidden latch, she decided to try knocking on the door to see what would happen. She was quite surprised when she heard the door opening up as she didn't think that a simple knock would work.

Once the wall came down and Amanda stepped through the opening, she saw a hidden staircase amongst the rocks and trees but was a little bit apprehensive about it. But after standing there for a few minutes and shouting down and throwing some rocks in the opening to see if there was anything down there that might fly out at her, she descended down the stairs.

Once she had reached the bottom of the stairs, she was glad to see a room instead of a dark and damp cave with God only knows what might be crawling around in a cave. She looked around the room for a little bit before spotting an opening in the railing that was all through the room, so headed over to the opening in the railing to see what was on the other side of it.

She saw 3 lily pad ponds that was inset in the floor and thought how she would like to have some of those at home.

After she was done looking at the lily pad pond, she looked around the room again and saw something glinting in the corner behind the stairs. She then looked around again and saw about 6 heavy statues with 2 of them not in line with the other ones, so she went over to the last 2 where she tried pulling the 5th one to no avail and then went to the last one which did move.

Once she had the statue moved, she walked around it and behind the other ones until she reached the glinting pile of ancient coins and reached for them.

As she was reaching for the coins, she noticed a hidden staircase that was located right behind the staircase that she used to get inside of the room and went down the stairs. Once she reached the bottom step, she saw another pile of ancient coins and went over the them so that she could collect them. She pocketed them as well and decided that after she was done in the Dragon's Cave that she would count them later in hopes that she would see more to collect.

She ended up spotting a door on the opposite end of the hallway and went to open it only to found a room that looks like a meditation with fire traps. She's hoping that there isn't anything inside of the fire traps that she needs to get as she doesn't want to get burned.

She looked around the room and saw a stand with some more of those ancient coins and went over to it to collect them. She's hoping that it's okay to take the coins that she finds and that nothing happens once she removes them from the stand like it does in the Indiana Jones movies.

She looks around the room some more and spotted one of those foot plates that she's used to seeing now when entering into the hidden rooms. So she steps on them only to reveal 2 holes in the wall behind her.

She puts her hand inside of the 1st hole hoping to find a switch to turn off the fire traps but instead found some more ancient coins.

Then she went to the next hole hoping for the same thing only to get a handful of ancient coins which she places in her bag with the rest of them.

She then goes to the back of the room where the 2 statues are and notices another plate that she stands on which opens up the wall in front of her that had a few chest inside, so she goes in and raids them as well. She finds another relic collection which is some Zodiac animals, some low quality food and a money bag. As she comes out of the room, she notices something sitting on the bench in front of her and she goes to collects it only to find out that it's a yellow sapphire worth 154 simoleons. This got a total of 423 ancient coins from this adventure.

After she was done exploring the Dragon's Den, she made her way back outside where jogged back down the hill and got on her broom to report to Biyu Shen on her findings in the den.

Biyu Shen then asked Amanda to go find 2 platinum and bring them back to the Phoenix of Marital Arts Academy, so Amanda said that she would go and look for them. She found the 2 platinum as well as some copper worth 25 simoleons.

Once she found what she needed for Biyu Shen, she returned back to the academy to give the platinum to Biye Shen. (While Amanda was looking for Biyu Shen, I noticed that Daniel was at the academy using one of the training dummies.)

She found Biyu Shen and gave her the platinum that she requested. Biyu Shen then told Amanda that she needed 3 Lapis Lazuli for the next part of the quest.

After Amanda got done talking to Biyu Shen, she went inside and upstairs to the training room where she saw Daniel and went to him only to find out that it wasn't her Daniel from Appaloosa Plains even though he was dressed like him and looks like him.

But since she was up there and in front of him, they both bowed down which is the Chinese way of getting others. And of course they ended up getting hearts for one another.

As it was getting late, Amanda said her goodbyes to the other Daniel and left. So after Amanda left, Daniel had changed into his everyday outfit which looks like something that Indiana Jones would wear and he started to follow Amanda.

Amanda got on her broom to head back to the base camp where she wanted to call her Daniel to tell him that she ran into his doppelganger.

As soon as she got back to the base camp, she ran up the steps as fast as she could so that she could call Daniel right away. As soon as he answered his phone, she told him that she thought that he had gotten his travel visa already and had jumped on a plane to China as she saw someone that looks just like him and has the same name as he does. He laughed in the phone and told her no that he doesn't have his travel visa yet but that if he did that he would had done just that as he misses her a lot.

She ended up telling him about the next adventure that she did earlier today at the Dragon's Den and all of the stuff that she had picked up from the chests and rooms located in the den.

While Amanda was still on the phone talking to Daniel, the other Daniel showed up and was standing behind Amanda looking like a creeper. And just right before her and Daniel hung up, he told her not to go and fall in love with the other Daniel as there wasn't room enough for 2 Daniel's in her life unless there was a Daniel junior in their future.

After she got off of the phone, she noticed some trash laying around and so she went to pick it up to throw it away. While she was at it, she upgraded the trash compactor to be able to do better crushing of the trash as it was too full of trash already from not being crushed all of the way.

The next morning came around and Amanda was up early again and had gotten her shower before going on her search for the Lapis Lazuli. When she got down the stairs from the base camp, the water taxi was waiting for her again as the driver knew just where to find some of the Lapis that she needed.

The water taxi driver gave her a map that he had that shows the possible locations of the different gems and wished her luck on finding them. She found her 1st one without any problems as well as other gems such as 3 Quartz, 2 Platinum, a Geode, 3 Copper, 1 Gold, 1 Emerald. She saw other gems laying about but where they were located, there wasn't any pathway for her to use to get them, so she had to pass them up.

While she was running around looking for gems, she noticed a debris pile so she took time to clean the area to see if there was anything worth taking. She found another relic collection which was Chinese vases as well as 3 different relics.
