Do any of y'all have sims you're saving for future packs?
Example: I'm saving my boy Fern for a werewolf pack so that he can be a foil for his vampire sister. What's funny is that he's actually a cat lover.
Not currently, but I used to save sims for when university came out. Now I'm thinking of cool families that I wanna try out with a potential generations pack.
I think werewolves are close so Fern will get his time to shine soon!
I do have one sim I'm planning on bringing into my story in the future who has a background in dancing ballet and now dances more modern/hip hop.. Both dance genres that aren't available in the sims 4 atm.
I also have this other group of sims I'm planning on making that I think would love to create a rock band, if that ever becomes a thing in this game.
Basically, I don't have any current sims that require anything but that's because I refuse to make sims in my headcannon/story that have a skill/hobby that's unavailable in-game. It'd just feel so disappointing to pretend like the dance skill from Get Together is "ballet" or "hip hop", you know?
(unrelated but this is my first time actually participating in a discussion here and let me just say, I was not expecting this to be the topic that drew me out of my cave lol)
If we ever get werewolves I'm turning Octavia Moon and/or Joaquin Le Chien. Since unplayed sims don't age in my game they should still be around if that ever happens.
I'm not saving sims for the future, i'm rather saving ideas instead. I have in mind a lot of characters that i can create with future packs like supernatural creature sims or farm pack
I don't plan for what what i can't predict. Warewolves and fairies may never come or they could come in the next pack. Whatever the case i don't have anything on going until the developers announce their arrival.
When the announcement is made and i have done my research on if i want the pack and wait for the first discounted sale it will be on, i'll have something ready to go by then.
well I'm keeping my Bob Pancakes story on hold in case we get werewolves because i really want to turn him into one
+i got other households to catch up with too
I also have quite many sims that would love more romance in their lives and i can't really decide if I should wait or just play
because I've literally been wanting better romance since ts4 released and if i had save on hold this long it would have been madness
but the romance mentions been flying around for few packs so i at least want to know next gp first even if its false hope
I have a sim who has been pregnant in my main save since November (used MCCC to pause the pregnancy) and I keep holding off on her giving birth to her twins in hopes that we will get better babies eventually - I would just really love to explore better babies (if they are ever a thing) with her babies specifically, since I'm very invested in them, haha.
I haven’t made such sims yet because I can’t. When they get around to a “return to the future” expansion, however, I will remake my eccentric scientist, her simbot daughter, and her one-trait simbot servants.
This game needs more Sailor Moon!

Wow, I really hope that is this case. I have always wanted werewolves in Sims 4!
We don't know what packs we will get so it is difficult to save sims for packs we don't know.
I have one family where I wait with having a child because of a possible generation pack. But it is more of a little delay rather than a indefinitely wait. If the next pack is nothing generations related, I will go ahead with that family anyway.
I also have one sim in my library who really feels like a possible werewolf. He will be added if we ever get that pack. But he is not involved in any save so it doesn't feel like I am putting him 'on hold' .
I don't have any saved for that purpose, but I do usually make a new sim or two whenever I get a new pack.
I do this sometimes too. I just made someone for JTB. And I am planning on using Ulrike Faust ( from get together ) and possibly Bella Goth for the paranormal pack, and when Alexander gets older I think I’m going to make him a spellcaster. I do have some twin spellcasters I made for realm of Magic too.
I have a sim who is a werewolf in my mind and I plan to use him once the werewolf pack comes out. Usually I create sims when I know what the next pack is going to be.
One sim i have had saved up for is as a butler for VG stuff pack.
I don't have VG but my sim Takagi Akahima is a butler in the Damme family household, Takagi has a son from a previous relationship that fell apart, Hiroshio. So Takagi's son goes with him. I plan on getting VG one day so i can get that sorted out with a mod to assign the job accordingly.

oh dear that ladys pregnancy taking long she suffering for all of us
do hope we get baby update by her 9th month
Only when the pack is announced or teased then I'll choose which sim or my favorite sim's lives to continue with this pack like my sim Marigold Winters, I pushed her age back when the Discovery University leak came out. And continued to play with her. She became older than her younger brother because of that.
I can't save a sim assuming a pack will come out, I'd never play with that file for fear of others ageing up and dying. And I cannot play with ageing off. I don't always like seeing the same sims for too long lol for me, it means the other are progressing in their lives even if I have to edit them myself.

Because I can't; I keep all sigs turned off.

I do think of new ways I can play with them however.
And I also have a yeti, who loves restaurants apparently as every time my sim goes to one he's there
