I don't know if you already know but you can make a functional sandbox if you have island living. Use a low fence sims can step over as the edge of the sandbox. then use the terrain paint and fill your sandbox with the sand texture from island living. Your sims will be able to build sandcastles in this sandbox. This may not be exactly what you were thinking of, but it's close enough for me.
I have this idea in one of my kids play park, what's kind of odd but I set a blind eye because right now that's all you can do atm if you want a sandbox lol , that the animations for kids playing on the sand there's wee crabs 😂, this doesn't make sense in willow creek @Atreya33
I just want more normal everyday type of objects.
- Kitchen appliances like toasters and food processors
- more objects for children like slides and bikes
- more objects for toddlers like strollers and playground equipment not tied to a stuff pack
- I would like to see more transportation like cars, skate boards, scooters, row boats, sail boats, speed boats, etc.
- I'd like to see a handheld gaming console like the sims 2 has
- an object already in game but I would like cellphones to be optional, or at least limited in functionality until you 'upgrade' to a smart phone for like 1000 simoleons.
- another object already in-game but I would like laptops to actually function on your sims laps, sitting on a chair or on the ground.
- I would also like to see more functional accessories, things like smart watches or fitness trackers.
Of course there's more but it would very much please me if any of these were to be added.

I'd really love board games (like Simopoloy) that could be played on the floor or on a table.

Well as cars are already mentioned I would like to expand my Get Famous gameplay with a helipad and a helicopter in my backyard. Ofcourse you can only use the helicopter if the destination has a helipad as well. The helicopter is electricity powered as we don't want to pollute the world.
Cribs for toddlers like in TS2 and 3 where you have to put them in or let them out :c I'm so sad they don't exist and there are no functional mods for it
I would like to see more lighting choices like fluorescent light fixtures and maybe some more hvac items like vents, furnaces, or boilers so you can make a house with a realistic basement
Tea sets with 'invite to drink options' that also extends to the existing drink trays.
Useable/purchasable wine bottles or a small bar like the globe, but with a few more juice options,
