Loving the Little Details In This Game!

I've recently noticed that if you add a collar with a bell to a cat you can hear a tiny jingling sound as they walk around, I was kind of amazed they thought of adding such a small detail but I love it.

I also love that footsteps (both sim and animal) and bikes make different sounds depending on what they are walking/riding on. The outside ambiance sounds are also all unique to each world and change depending on the time of day.

I just now recalled another little detail that made me smile. In RL I recently got a brand new washing machine, first one in about 14 years. Yeah, my last one had the old agitator/fins inside. The new one does not. I like it better. But what is really sweet is that it has a nice little chime sequence it goes through when the load is finished. I heard a similar chime emanating from my game not long after that. If I truly heard such, that's a very cool detail.

Sims 2 has many more details and better details than the sims 4.

So were you going to share a detail as the post suggested or....? I'm sure if its a Sims 2 detail no one will care.

Why wouldn't anyone care if it's a Sims 2 detail?

I'm going to jump in here and posit the poster meant no one would mind that it's from Sims2. I know I wouldn't.

@RememberJoy oh yes, the bikes! I remember when we first got them, I set the camera to auto follow my sim on her bike and I was enthralled by the sound effects.

I agree! I love watching my Sim bicycle in the snow and listening to the sound of snow crunching under the tires!

This isn't something I just noticed or anything, but I love the little addition of Clumsy Sims having the chance to drop the dishes in the sink while cleaning them. I just think it's entertaining, honestly. It really makes Sims who are Clumsy seem, well, clumsy. :D

I micromanage my sims, so I don’t catch a lot of little things, but I had this family of eight, 2 sets of Grandparents and a Mom, Dad, teenage daughter, and child son, and once in awhile I catch some of them doing stuff on their own. I saw one of the Grandmothers come in her Granddaughters bedroom, sit down on her bed and start talking to her. I thought that was so endearing, it was exactly the type of thing that seemed so right for the two. Also, in that family one of the Grandfathers ( a Doctor) is always caught dancing with his Grandson to the radio.

With another family I have one evil mean criminal brother and another brother that is good. And, I notice that the mean brother once in awhile makes the good brother sad sometimes. The non committal sister is truly non committal with jobs and men, and the loner sister gets really tense around those she doesn’t know.

@FurAndYarn when I wear headphones I notice more sound details too.

I haven't noticed that one yet. Joey is my clumsy Sim, too. I've seen him suddenly trip on nothing and fall down, however. Going to have to watch him more closely when he spontaneously decides to clean up.

Wait, Clumsy Sims can actually trip on nothing and fall? I've actually never seen that in my game! Mine usually just drop the dishes in the sink or stumble a bit and fall only on the treadmill. I'm going to have to keep an eye on my Clumsy Sims now too so that I can catch one of them tripping!

It seems like the tuning on clumsy Sims was improved recently. This is my clumsy Sim skating.

My gloomy sim walked around campus, with head facing shoes, even when she was fine. Update that is awesome, didn't like that gloomy sims were sad sometimes, that's just a normal person.

When proposed to, male and female sims react differently.

Also bikes leave their own trails on snow.

Seems as though many of my sims live in Sulani, accident not by design and I love the footprints left in the sand.

When my sims are out in the wilderness fishing, the sounds of the crickets, love that sound.

And I was so amazed to hear this, the squeak of the rocking chair when someone is rocking. Love it!

I am very hard of hearing so my hearing aids won't let me wear headphones but I am alone at my desk so I crank up the sound, lol. (At least until my hubby comes in.) :D
In my house, dog hair sticks to everything but the dog.

I love little details like this! Here’s a few that I noticed in my game lately.
    1. Very sad Sims do this moping animation when showering.
    2. You can hear them crying in their sleep too.
    3. And they also have a different animation when waking up. (Yeah... I have a lot of sad Sims :grimace:).
    4. If you have Parenthood, Sims will cheer if they completed a Good quality project. Sims that assisted your child or teen will also cheer you on for that accomplishment! :)

I'm not sure if this was already mentioned. But this weekend I saw a cute sentiment and moodlet on my sims. It was a Yingyang symbol with hearts, and it was called in my language 'opposites attract eachother'. She was a looner and he was outgoing.

Another little detail I also noticed was the way the vacuum cleaner pulls in the dust. There's actually animation for the dust clouds! Awesome.

This is a detail that I have mentioned many times but the fact that Sims slip in the mud puddles just makes me happy.

LOL I wasn't so pleased when my Global Superstar slipped in a mud-puddle on his way into the theatre for his concert.
