Yes now makes more sense to me who would say no.
Sims 4 went from "You Rule" to "One of the stories we want you to tell"

OP could you give those who did not play TS2 a description of how the Free Awning Tool worked? A video or tutorial?

As a builder I can imagine this would be very useful to me, but I'm not sure how it works.

It basically works as if you're building walls/fences but instead the tool "draws" awnings. It was included in TS2 OFB. You could make awnings next to walls, or not. So instead of using limited wall decorations you're putting down awnings with the length and shape that you want. They had multiple styles too. It was great for the exterior of stores, restaurants and hotels.

This picture on google shows an example of what you could do...

You can't really do that in TS4.

    Thanks for posting @Ellupelluellu.

Great to see the variations of awning styles!

I’d say if that’s the same height as the roof, perhaps it makes sense for the team to add roof patterns and roof trims that look like awnings, so that we can customize and place different pillars underneath depending on our taste. It would work the same way the thatched roofs and trims are designed from Island Living.

What would even be better is if we can create awnings lower than the roof on any level.

The TS2 awnings hang below the roof, they are wall height. They were great as you could make both window awnings and tents with them.

One of the finer build options in Sims 2. Makes me so upset that they did away with it. My favorites are the thatched roof and the art deco pieces. Shoot if they made the tool with the listed below colors and styles I'd pay the kit price for it.

    1. Thatch & Bamboo
    2. The art deco style with the curved glass
    3. Stripes
    • Blue & White
    • Red & White
    • Black & White
    • Baby Pink & White
    • Baby Blue & White
    • Green & White
    • Green & Grey
    • Grey & Black
    • Red, Blue & White
    • Yellow & White
    • Yellow & Black
    • Red & Green
    • Blue & Green
    • Red & Black
    • Grey & White
    • Beige & White
    • Beige & Black
    • Beige & Green
    • Purple & Green
    • Purple & White
    • Purple & Black
    • Orange & Black
    • Orange & White
    4. Solid - Different color trim if it really enhances the look
    • Red
    • Navy Blue
    • Hunter Green
    • Yellow
    • Black
    • White
    • Grey
    • Orange
    • Baby Pink
    • baby Blue
    • Beige
    • Royal Purple
    • Brown
    5. Shingled Awning
    • Black
    • Baby Pink
    • Green
    • Magenta
    • White
    • Navy Blue
    • Beige
    • Baby Blue
    6. Shiny Metal
    • Copper
    • Rubbed Broze
    • Silver
    • Gold

I'd also like a wide variety of the traditional shapes for my money

    1. Shed

    shed-awning.jpg

    2. Gable

    gable-shape.jpg

    3. Half Round

    4. Waterfall

I'd like them to have some choices on valances

This would be magnificent! Such a tool could really add some flare to a build.

I never built anything too fancy or complex in TS2 but I would definitely use this! So, you get my vote!

I've never had an awning tool in Sims 3. Is it like the pool tool in Sims 4?
