How do I get rid of the announcement messages at the top of the screen?

I've just taken a break, and before I went on a break there was an option in the top right corner to delete them, can't remember if it was a cog or an x. Now they're just stuck there, no option to get rid of them. I currently have the gallery maintenance one, highlights from april 2nd, patch from march 23rd and a new simmers necropost one.
