Here’s another lot for San Myshuno, this time a karaoke bar. I really wanted the exterior to look like a former townhouse that’s been renovated into a business, so I tried to add things like a garage, courtyard etc. There’s a little stage outside for ‘concerts’ and 2 karaoke rooms, as well as an underground rainbow themed nightclub. I wanted eahc room to have a very fun and distinctive look. The top floor is empty right now, but I did put an a ladder to access it. I wanted to make the top floor into a club exclusive room, but I probably won’t do that until next save file version when I got more characters, lore etc. I did kind of like the look of the original karaoke bar that was ehre so I tried to keep some things similar, like the roof and the brick and that chimney corner portion at the front though.
I present to you the Black Light Lounge, in place of the stargazer lounge from the uptown. Althoguh the layout is a bit odd (since I was trying to work with the shape of the building) I am very pleased with the overall easthetic. I was kinda inspired by one of the booths from my karaoke club, not to mention when i was looking up reference images for night clubs and such a lot of them had this type of modern look with blue/pink/purple lighting, so I tried to go all out and even downloaded some custom painitngs to fit the vibe (don’t worry the game doesnt register them as CC). I only have 2 more lots to do (karaoke bar in fashion district and the park) and then i will be done with the save file. After I finish building I will have to actually put all the households in, set the skills/relationships, so that will take me anothet couple days. BUt once that’s done I will make a masterpost of sorts for the first vberions of the save file - san myshuno edition.
Petal Park - Fashion District, Lot traits: Romantic Atmosphere, Great Soil
So this lot originally had a karaoke bar, but since i recently completed one for the save file it didnt make much sense for me to have 2 karaoke bars int he same city. I had few different ideas on what to do with this lot instead, including a basketball court, but it didn’t feel right for this particular place, so I settled on a small park to fit the easthetic and plants in the neighbourhood. I focused on maintaining coherence with the plants and i used the big fountain as a central point. Each section has something going on: BBQ, beach towels for napping, a swing set and a gardening spot. I really like how it turned out, althoguh I am a bit mad at the lighting glitch with one of the plants. The purple lavender looking plants will ‘glow’ weirdly during night time and i know it’s not jsut this isntance because i had similar issues with this particular object many times before, elt’s hope it gets fixed eventually (lets be real can’t count on EA at all). someone said to me that i can get the exact same plant in debug that wont glow like this, but the debug one had weirrd glitchy texture i did not like.
And here we are, finally with the last lot from San Myshuno. This park took me much longer to complete than it should, but I was very indesicive about the layout of it. I didn’t want it to feel too crowded, but at the same time it felt weird leaving significant amount of space opena nd empty, even tho that’s jsut what parks are. I am particularly happy with the wedding venue. I do like the side building with all the vines overgrowing it and the glass roof to fit the observatory, but I definitely didn’t do it justice from the inside , considering how limiting the space was.
Now I jsut have to put in all the sims I created for the file, set up their skills/relationships/careers, and do some makeovers for the pre-mades. It should take me like a couple weeks and then I will release the first version of the savefile.
not sure who needs to hear this, but i will not be buying the star wars pack for the sims. although I consider myself a collector, and up until now I had every pack from sims 3 and sims 4, this is the one pack that I refuse to get and as such will not be needed for this save file
I am back with another renovating. This time I tackled the Tinker family's house. their original house did not fit the vibe of the neighbourhood at all. So what I did was I originally built a shell of a generic house to mirror the ones in the environment and then I renovated it with the more modern/industrial windows etc from the eco pack. I also built few containers with the idea that the Tinkers are trying to build a container home on their property and it's a work in progress so for now Tina is using the space as her workshop.
