I'm very happy that eating is sped up. However I recognize it'd be annoying for other people. I think making 'quick meal' actually quick and slowing down normal meals a bit would be a good compromise.
I think it's interesting that sims eat some foods in two or three bites and others take like maybe five or six bites. I noticed this for example with fruit salad and some of the quick meals, they are eaten very fast, but then for example butter chicken and some breakfast food... perhaps breakfast scramble were slower to eat.
To be honest, I don't let the Sim clock rule my game. And, as such, unless my Sims absolutely have to be somewhere at some specified time, I don't even notice the time of day. That being said, I was never once bothered by how long or short a time it takes my Sims to do anything at all. I only get miffed if a Sim stands around stagnant instead of doing what's in their queue to do. Idle. I don't like Idle. LOL Suffer me to say, I haven't noticed any changes with the patch regarding time.
However, what did bother me prior to patch was Quick Meals. Quick Meals should be that, a quick meal. I use them to fill my sims hunger before work/school but hate how long it would take them to finish.
This one, very much.
Quick meals in my mind was to avoid the time it takes to prepare a meal, not that a Sim would eat it fast. If a person in RL eats too fast indigestion sets in …
I haven't updated my game yet. How does the faster eating work with "Call To Meal"? I like my families to eat together and it would bum me out if they couldn't sit and chat while eating.
Like SJM? Like Kpop? Like Greek Mythology?

My sims stand by the fridge to eat like 90% of the time. It’s frustrating.
It's annoying to a degree, If you have a large family the first couple of Sims are finished before the last couple even get to the table. I have found a way to work around this though. I have them pick up a serving rather than grab a plate, then direct them to sit down at the table and have them start talking to each other before directing them to eat the plate in their inventory. Of course this requires autonomy off. I can get them to have a family meal this way, still annoying though.
I like the idea, but at the moment, Sims use the exact same tuning files for eating a quick meal as for eating a normal meal. So they'd have to change quite a bit to make it work.

I usually have them set the table first then call them to a meal. I noticed that the family members that were talking took a lot longer to eat than the ones not talking. After sitting down, only two of them got up to hug this time but then they both sat back down and continued with the meal and conversation.
