I've been feeling awfully blue lately and haven't been doing much but working and sleeping. Just something that happens to me from time to time, bad chemistry. I've been enjoying Simming vicariously through everyone's stories though. So much fantasy and sci-fi going on right now
Nothing has really happened in my game since Callum's pizza shop 'mysteriously' caught fire. I didn't feel much like playing but I did pop into CAS to make over my oldest Sim. The one in my profile photo.
Today I made some progress with my video. I completed the narration and editing of the first part that is about the four sims I was training. That'd be Daryl, Dave, Stan and Clarice. Only Daryl and Dave are ready to travel to Cake Island. I now need them to befriend Felecia and/or Frank so I can get them to travel back to Cake Island when Felecia and Frank go home. I hope that works. Haven't tried to do it yet.
Daryl and Dave are the future spouses of Delores and Demetria. At least one of them will return to the Great Southern Land on their vacation and will pick up Stan and Clarice who are future spouses of Sharonda and Coby.
Stan and Clarice will need to learn more skills and read more books before they are ready to meet their future spouses in Cake Island.
In addition, I activated the future spouse's house and made the basement bigger. I added 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and about 7 all in one bathrooms. The household now has 9 sims in it. I had a go at changing some settings of Story Progression for the household. I think I turned off their ability to flirt, get married or become pregnant. I hope that works.
I got the five new future spouses to move in with the original four by merging them from my library. The five new sims have no skills so will have to start from scratch. I think I'll send an Imaginary Friend after it is made real, to The Great Southern Land. The IF will move into the house with the remaining. The next sim to make their IF real will be Megan. Currently there are no Imaginary Friends living with the household in Cake Island as Cathy and Percy moved out in the last episode. In the next episode Frank and Felecia will move out to live in their forever home together. And Daryl and Dave will move in to start to get to know their future spouses. Meanwhile Wendy and Wilfred will be preparing to head off somewhere on their vacation, and Megan will make her Imaginary Friend real. Somewhere in the middle of all of that I'll send the new IF to the Great Southern Land to learn skills and read books with the remaining seven future spouses. I might get Latoya to make her IF real too and send them both to the Great Southern Land to lean what they can. I don't expect the Imaginary Friends to learn as much as the future spouses. Dave and Daryl both ended up learning all recipes as they got to level 10 in Cooking. I don't expect any of the others will work so hard on their cooking. It takes too long for them to read the recipes.
Now I've got Frank and Felecia in the Great Southern Land and I got video of them visiting three lots. They went to the Fall Festival and started a never ending loop of going through the Haunted House until I stopped them.
Then I sent them to the Al Fresco Market but that wasn't very successful.
All Felecia would do was to pull out the laptop I didn't know she had in her inventory and play loud computer games.
So I sent them to the casino.
Earlier, when I placed the casino in the world I added the poker and roulette tables. Previously the casino only had black jack tables.
Again Felecia whipped out the laptop but I managed to get her to talk with Karen. Karen is one of the 5 new potential spouses. I made her for Kendall so she'll be the last to go on vacation and get married. She has no skills but she chatted with Felecia and I saw her off in the distance telling a ghost story somewhat later.
Frank was playing gambling machines but I couldn't see him so don't know exactly what he was doing. I noticed Daryl was there too and he was playing one of the machines so I told Frank to go and talk to him. Daryl is one of the pair that is to travel to Cake Island with Felecia and Frank. There was no sight of Dave. I will probably have to get Felecia or Frank to befriend both Daryl and Dave to be able to travel home with them.
Stan was playing poker and eventually Felecia joined him. Later on Frank joined them. There was still one empty seat. It stayed empty.
I got his pic of Felecia and Frank playing poker just after midnight in the game. All the townies had vanished by then. I sent my vacationers back to the base camp and next video we'll see what they get up to.
There were a few of my townies enjoying the casino so it was a fairly lively evening. Karen stood behind them and watched the poker game for a while.
There is about 5 to 10 minutes available to show all of this in the video. Then it'll be done. It'll probably be a couple of days before I can get it up onto YouTube. It always takes longer than I think.

EDIT: I needed to show you a few more pics so I 'opened' the potential spouse's house and had a look inside. Not everyone was home, but most were.

I wanted a pic of Karen but she wasn't at home then I discovered Frank was listening to her so I went back to the Casino and there she is standing behind Frank. Frank and Felecia haven't left for the Base Camp yet obviously.
Here are four of the current residents. Only Daryl is ready to leave. Jack, Chris and Lionel are new arrivals with all of their work ahead of them still.
Lionel went to bed. I left the sheets looking like wood - Lionel didn't complain they seem to work OK.
I found Mark gardening. I hope this counts towards skill gain.
I didn't know where Stan was then I heard a noise and went looking. I forgot I added a nectar making machine to the basement. He seems to be learning to make nectar. They have a few grapes from France. I was hoping for them to take them to Cake Island and plant them at home but I suppose they can make nectar in tGSL instead if they like.
I don't know where Dave is. He likes to go to parks and sit on seats and read. I got this pic of him earlier - before Frank and Felecia arrived in his world.
I will have to get him to befriend Frank or Felecia as I need him to move to Cake Island with Derek.

After the dispute between Mussete Mercier and Anita Simone. Marbel was the elder chosen to talk to the Mercier family to comprehend what happened and attempt to clear up any misunderstanding.
Armel Mercier explained that there had been friction. It is no excuse for violence, but Anita was very sharp-tongued, often pointing her fingers where it hurt the sisters the most.
Later Marbel talked with Mussete alone, getting more details. It turned out that according to Mussete, Anita had called her names referring to “light living women” and accused her not to take proper care of her son.
Hard to say what the truth of the matter was, but it was clear that the Mercier household was much more harmonic after the students had left. Even the introvert Mateo seemed a lot more relaxed and content.

Despite the fact that whey where about to get a child together. Magdalena Mercier and Simon Stone did not see each other much this month. She had taken upon herself to improve her fishing skills, going to the river almost daily.
Michiko Vaughan turned 66 this month. She did not want any special celebration, just spending the day with her son.
They went to the park and talked about how fortunate they were, now living in security within the settlement, and how close the were to death when they first came here. Looking back at the often hard but also sometimes nice memories of their life together in the wilderness.
The day was very emotional for both of them, and for the first time since they came to Greg’s river, they chose to sleep close together, feeling the warmth and comfort of each other’s presence
The next day Michiko teaches some dishes with local, seasonal ingredients for the students in Greg’s kitchen.
Marbel told Greg about Mussete version of that happened between her and Anita. Several days later Greg heard Anita shouting at Jane Harper calling her a thief and an evil outcast, who did not deserve to live within the settlement. Greg never fully understood what triggered the attack, but realized that the Merciers was probably telling the truth about Anita’s sharp-tongue.
Greg called Anita in for an official educational talk about her future in the settlement. Telling her that the language she used was inappropriate and unacceptable. Sadly, he got the impression that she did not fully understand the message.
Greg decided there was no way for him not to follow his heart, especially after realising Anita was calling for trouble. He continued his affair with Mussete.
When Mussete came to visit Greg, they mostly spend the time outside, not to trigger new inconveniences.
Botan Nara seemed to go through a difficult time. He had lost most of his power in the community, at least until a new assembly was established. His wife was focused on the baby, which he could not fully concentrate on right now. This felt like a very early mid-life crisis.

While his wife was at home taking care to their new born, Botan spend most of his time hanging out in the settlement. Either in the company of his beautiful young student or drinking and playing guitar in the café
Brendon was developing into the perfect farther. Always caring for his child and taking part in cooking and housekeeping, even though he had long night shifts in the café this month.

The community did not pay for the laundry machines, they were paid by the households. This goes against the intensions of the community laundry, but it was too chaotic. The laundry was used once, by Shina Nara, after the new machines was installed, sadly I missed the picture.
Some “manual action” was necessary to create the pictures for the biographies.
At some point Greg’s home was a mess of half-finished meals, for some reason the “cooks” was always distracted. It came to the point where I chose to “manualy” finish some meals ( Michiko teaching was one of them)
Otherwise everything automated.

No rainbow or 'snobow' but another beautiful rainbow sherbet colored sunset. This is the view from Bekka's house...well, if you cross the yard and look down over the cliff. I took another picture or two where the water is even more golden colored but I don't have those uploaded yet.
Getting back into the swing of driving on a regular basis - but man this first week kicked my tail end. Day off today for wife and me - and well, I'm looking at my legacy game and...

Great updates everyone, I've really enjoyed reading through all your posts. The pictures are a nice touch as well. Sorry I haven't been here for a while and updated. Amir and Terek don't seem that interested that they have a new sister! LOL I remember being very excited when my Mom would bring home another baby! And pushing over a chair so I could see my new sister in her crib when my Mom went to go lay down to rest!

Donatella Cuffs arrives and says she'd like to marry Adan. Watcher checks and she has no romantic interest even. So I assume she thinks he's pretty great, to talk wedding cakes to him.

Adan sees that his poor Teddy has revived somewhat, but is still very shocked and scared about the burglar. He goes to comfort him, while Donatella looks on, thinking love for Adan. I think it's kinda cute that a straight girl has a crush on a gay man, just like in real life.
Adan is flattered but not interested.

My game has so many weird options I don't recall downloading mods for any of them.
In the wee hours of the night, when most are sleeping peacefully, snow falls gently blanketing the ground with fresh powder. The moon is high in the sky surrounded by the aurora lights turning the slow-moving clouds into a colorful night sky the town is famous for.
The alarming sound of someone repeatedly banging on the door awakens some of the sleeping family.
Jamie pulls on a shirt and hurries downstairs. Damien grabs his robe and is amazed Mary is still sleeping soundly with all the noise going on downstairs. He hurries down the steps and spies Jamie ahead of him.
Jamie turns as Damien arrives in the foyer. “Whoever it is is certainly noisy.”
“Yes, let's find out who it is and what they could want at this time of night.”
Jamie opens the door with Damien standing at his side. An elderly woman stands outside with her arms up as she prepares to start banging on the door again. Jamie looks at her and is puzzled. He knows her, but he is having trouble placing who she is. Her face is blazing in anger as she stares daggers at him. He looks closer trying to work out who she is. No, it can’t be, he thinks to himself noticing her unusual blue eyes as she moves closer into the light. He expands his senses to her just as she thrusts her way into the room. He and Damien both take steps back; her presence is so forceful. He only knows one person with this powerful personality and vibrant blue eyes.
The woman begins yelling at him. “Jamison McNeil, how dare you leave me standing out in the cold and snow!" She forces her way farther into the room slamming the door behind her. “I’m exhausted and freezing from this horrendous trip to this dreadful little town. I’m starving as well, and you don’t have the decency to wait up knowing I was coming.”
Damien looks at the enraged elderly lady, “Who in Hades are you? How dare you force your way into my home, yelling at my friend like that?”
Jamie moves over to Damien and whispers to him. “um...lets not antagonize her any further. I absolutely don’t want you turned into stone or worse. Allow me to talk to her. I think I recognize who she is, but she is not the same as she used to be.”
“Layla! Is this you? What in the name of Fates happened to you? Just two years ago you were my age. And no, you did not inform me when you would arrive, just that it would be in two or three days."
“Of course it is me, Jamison!” She narrows her eyes looking at him and Jamie squirms uncomfortably from her gaze. “I can see your senses are all mixed up thinking you have found your soulmate. By the Fates, Jamison. You are not destined to have a soulmate."
“You know the prophecy you spouted to me was as obscure as mud and made no sense whatsoever. I don't think it had anything to do with my finding or not finding a soulmate especially since I've found her." Jamie does not want to argue with her about Bekka, he asks instead. "Why are you an old lady now? Who did you tick off?”
“Cursed by an impertinent trickster pixie. He didn’t like his prophecy. I don’t make them up. It is what it is, and cursing me didn’t change his Fate, but he changed mine. I’m growing older by the day and will die soon if I can’t stop the curse.”
Damien listens to Jamie and Layla talk and wonders what they have gotten themselves into. Angry oracles, curses, rapid aging, lack of sleep. He shakes his head and runs upstairs to wake Mary and change clothing.
Damien fixes a hearty breakfast with coffee and invites the others to sit down. Layla is somewhat calmer now that she is inside, warming up and getting a delicious breakfast inside her.
She is introduced to Mary and Damien who apologizes for his earlier comment to her.
“That’s ok. I like a man with spirit and one who defends his friends and loved ones. But don’t ever talk to me that way again,” she forewarns him with a faint smile, but her eyes are hard as stone.
“No, ma'am. It won’t happen again.”, he declares, swallowing the large lump in his throat.
“We will commence after breakfast.” she declares as she takes another generous helping of toast and eggs and pours herself more coffee.
Bekka looks over her notes from yesterday and realizes her dominant emotion was happiness. Looking in the mirror, she believes happy is a splendid emotion. I know there will be ups and downs in my life, stresses and anxieties and problems to deal with in my future. I just hope to learn to deal with those things in a better way.
She enjoys a nutritious breakfast, showers and starts working at her computer to order the first supplies needed to be delivered to Spring Manor for the renovation. Checking her email she has confirmation of delivery of supplies at one of her new clients and she checks her calendar and realizes she can start that job today.
She opens her journal to a new page and writes happy, satisfied.
She checks her watch and realizes it is still too early to be calling Jamie. She hopes he is getting some rest after working last night.
Layla lights the fire in the living room and begins to prepare the things she will need to contact the Fates. She spreads her special carpet down and places four candles. She talks briefly with Mary telling her what to expect.
Mary sits down in the circle where Lalya indicates. Damien and Jamie sit beyond Mary. Layla requests they remain silent during her meditation.
Layla sits down at the head of the circle and lights the candles calling on the Fates. She asks Mary to close her eyes and bow her head.
"Let this light guide me to thy presence."
“Please hear my plea Fates."
"Open your hearts to the soul before me."
"May your wisdom shine down upon us."
"Open our hearts to your truth."
Damien and Jamie both keep their eyes open and on Mary. Jamie opens up his senses and feels Mary is peaceful and in no distress. He keeps his mind open on Mary.
Layla raises her arms and softly repeats her chant requesting an audience with the Fates. Time seems to be suspended in the room as Damien and Jamie concentrate on Mary.
Layla opens her eyes and her body floats in the air above the circle. Mary remains seated with her eyes closed and head bowed. Damien scoots a little closer to Mary. Jamie watches Layla intently while focusing on Mary’s state of mind. She remains composed and peaceful. A bluish green light surrounds Layla. Jamie turns on the recorder on his phone as he knows Layla is getting ready to speak the words from the Fates.
Death is a beginning, an ending for some.

The Fates see all but evil survives.

Layla settles back down to the carpet, gasping and collapses unconscious. Mary opens her eyes as Damien pulls her up and away from Layla. Jamie rushes forward checking Layla’s pulse as Damien kneels across from him. “Is this supposed to happen?”
Jamie shakes his head. “No, I’ve witnessed her do this several times years ago and this never happened. She’s got a pulse, she’s breathing. I think she’s exhausted because of this aging curse thing.”
Mary kneels down as well. “We must do something to help her. Jamie, please carry her up to my old room. I’ll contact Emmaline and see if she can get here quickly.”
"I will sit here with her. Emmaline will arrive soon." Mary sits in the rocking chair and watches Layla who appears to be in a deep sleep.
Jamie and Damien go back downstairs to await Emmaline and clean up the living area.
"Will she remember the prophecy when she wakes up? I didn't have the presence of mind to write it down as she was reciting it."
"She will remember, but I recorded it." Jamie pulls out his phone and replays the prophecy. They listen carefully, and Damien goes to his desk and has Jamie replay it until he has written all of it down so he can study it in detail.
"It's essentially telling us what we already know. Mary died before her time. We are soulmates and I found her. Her soul is somehow bound to winter. When spring comes, she will be gone."
Jamie shrugs. "It would be nice if the Fates would just tell us to do A B and C, but they don't. I think the big thing to gain from this is we are on the right track. Spring is a time for renewal, new growth and flowers and life abound in spring. It is all about new beginnings. Whatever we do, we must do it in spring. So, we need to get busy and find the witch.
Damien nods at Jamie. "I will do what I can to help. You take half of the names, and I'll take the other half. Before we start, what did she mean about your prophecy and no soulmate?"
"She did my prophecy a few years ago and told me it meant I would not have a soulmate. I disagreed with her at the time as prophecy is very ambiguous and interpretation can vary." He recites the prophecy to Damien who writes it down.
The line of Fate is long in you.

The ingredients are not available here, but can be found in Shang Simla. If someone obtains the ingredients, I could make the potion. I will give you a couple of potions that will slow the process and give her more energy. Have her drink both when she wakes. Oracles are formidable and cranky and will most likely give you a hard time about it. It would be in her best interest to drink them so do your best to convince her."
Jamie gets a call from Rebecca, and he is thrilled to hear from her and takes a few minutes away from his tablet to chat with her. He tells her what has happened during the day. She offers to come by and fix dinner for them after her job, so they will not need to stop and cook. Jamie accepts looking forward to seeing her later.
Having a weird issue in my game.I can't move sims into certain houses, even with freerealestate on.
The icon disappears
The lot is empty, the house is empty, freerealestate on and its a residential lot.I did find a workaround by having my sim purchase the lot and then resell it, and that made it moveinable lol.
Spent most of my day trying to figure out what was the problem with this... pixelated carp on my sims' necks.
Forced the game to recognize my graphics chipset by doing what @puzzlezaddict told me to do.
Then went into the AMD Controls...

@Nikkei_Simmer Sometimes its just fun to play for fun and not worry about posing and pictures and writing. I have a couple of saves for that when my brain seems to be on a break from my stories.
Yes, those shadows do look a little bit much. I probably would not have noticed had you not pointed them out though as I generally look at the big picture and not the small details like that.
I have an AMD card and will have to look closer at some of my pics to see what I'm getting. My desktop has windows 7 on it...yep, no upgrade done on it. I keep getting notifications that I need to update and I'm like as long as it is working I'm not doing it. I keep it off the net so I don't get any surprises too.

Found a deer out enjoying the snowfall and waiting to cross the road. 6 taxi's went flying by and I looked in map view and they were taking sims to the lookout. Even the deer was traveling to the lookout according to his tag. I guess that was the hot spot this evening. Too bad my sims were being made to stay home and find a witch.

Christopher got Lauren ready for her day because Brittany was a bit preoccupied with other things.
Brittany came back from her recent hunting trip, where she was trying to find the fireflies (all caught now) to eat her breakfast.
Christopher had the stir crazy moodlet so I decided to have him jog until it left. I didn't really have anything for him to do.
Brittany didn't really have anything she had to do today so I mostly just had her hang out with the family. It's pretty much just finishing the two jobs at this point. (Business and bookstore) Riverview/Season Two isn't too much farther.
Lauren had finished all the toddler skills that I have available so I just had her play with the block table. She also plays with her IF and the dollhouse.
Christopher asked Brittany out on a date as they hadn't had time to do so lately. Brittany agreed and they both switched into their formal wear to go out for supper.
At the Bistro, Brittany ran into Shawn Keaton so she waved and said hello. Shawn is one of Marty and Justine's kids and is the older brother to Mack Keaton, the man that Lauren will marry later. Those of you who remember my previous attempt probably remember Mack, he'll be around again soon.
After a nice supper, I sent the Steels over to the stadium to watch a game. Christopher wanted to see a movie but they were almost over when I checked the theater.
When the game was over, Christopher gave his lovely wife a romantic dip kiss for everyone to see. This was the end of their date and they both went home.
After telling Christopher goodnight, I sent Brittany out hunting for insects. She didn't find anything she needed on this trip, but most of the insects are either the ant in Oasis Landing, destination insects (Assassin Beetle, etc.), or two more Will-O'-Wisps so that's probably why.

That's like...really watching your sim come to life.
Nothing has really happened in my game since Callum's pizza shop 'mysteriously' caught fire. I didn't feel much like playing but I did pop into CAS to make over my oldest Sim. The one in my profile photo.

Daryl and Dave are the future spouses of Delores and Demetria. At least one of them will return to the Great Southern Land on their vacation and will pick up Stan and Clarice who are future spouses of Sharonda and Coby.
Stan and Clarice will need to learn more skills and read more books before they are ready to meet their future spouses in Cake Island.
In addition, I activated the future spouse's house and made the basement bigger. I added 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and about 7 all in one bathrooms. The household now has 9 sims in it. I had a go at changing some settings of Story Progression for the household. I think I turned off their ability to flirt, get married or become pregnant. I hope that works.
I got the five new future spouses to move in with the original four by merging them from my library. The five new sims have no skills so will have to start from scratch. I think I'll send an Imaginary Friend after it is made real, to The Great Southern Land. The IF will move into the house with the remaining. The next sim to make their IF real will be Megan. Currently there are no Imaginary Friends living with the household in Cake Island as Cathy and Percy moved out in the last episode. In the next episode Frank and Felecia will move out to live in their forever home together. And Daryl and Dave will move in to start to get to know their future spouses. Meanwhile Wendy and Wilfred will be preparing to head off somewhere on their vacation, and Megan will make her Imaginary Friend real. Somewhere in the middle of all of that I'll send the new IF to the Great Southern Land to learn skills and read books with the remaining seven future spouses. I might get Latoya to make her IF real too and send them both to the Great Southern Land to lean what they can. I don't expect the Imaginary Friends to learn as much as the future spouses. Dave and Daryl both ended up learning all recipes as they got to level 10 in Cooking. I don't expect any of the others will work so hard on their cooking. It takes too long for them to read the recipes.
Now I've got Frank and Felecia in the Great Southern Land and I got video of them visiting three lots. They went to the Fall Festival and started a never ending loop of going through the Haunted House until I stopped them.
Then I sent them to the Al Fresco Market but that wasn't very successful.
All Felecia would do was to pull out the laptop I didn't know she had in her inventory and play loud computer games.
So I sent them to the casino.
Earlier, when I placed the casino in the world I added the poker and roulette tables. Previously the casino only had black jack tables.
Again Felecia whipped out the laptop but I managed to get her to talk with Karen. Karen is one of the 5 new potential spouses. I made her for Kendall so she'll be the last to go on vacation and get married. She has no skills but she chatted with Felecia and I saw her off in the distance telling a ghost story somewhat later.
Frank was playing gambling machines but I couldn't see him so don't know exactly what he was doing. I noticed Daryl was there too and he was playing one of the machines so I told Frank to go and talk to him. Daryl is one of the pair that is to travel to Cake Island with Felecia and Frank. There was no sight of Dave. I will probably have to get Felecia or Frank to befriend both Daryl and Dave to be able to travel home with them.
Stan was playing poker and eventually Felecia joined him. Later on Frank joined them. There was still one empty seat. It stayed empty.
I got his pic of Felecia and Frank playing poker just after midnight in the game. All the townies had vanished by then. I sent my vacationers back to the base camp and next video we'll see what they get up to.
There were a few of my townies enjoying the casino so it was a fairly lively evening. Karen stood behind them and watched the poker game for a while.
There is about 5 to 10 minutes available to show all of this in the video. Then it'll be done. It'll probably be a couple of days before I can get it up onto YouTube. It always takes longer than I think.

EDIT: I needed to show you a few more pics so I 'opened' the potential spouse's house and had a look inside. Not everyone was home, but most were.

I wanted a pic of Karen but she wasn't at home then I discovered Frank was listening to her so I went back to the Casino and there she is standing behind Frank. Frank and Felecia haven't left for the Base Camp yet obviously.
Here are four of the current residents. Only Daryl is ready to leave. Jack, Chris and Lionel are new arrivals with all of their work ahead of them still.
Lionel went to bed. I left the sheets looking like wood - Lionel didn't complain they seem to work OK.
I found Mark gardening. I hope this counts towards skill gain.
I didn't know where Stan was then I heard a noise and went looking. I forgot I added a nectar making machine to the basement. He seems to be learning to make nectar. They have a few grapes from France. I was hoping for them to take them to Cake Island and plant them at home but I suppose they can make nectar in tGSL instead if they like.
I don't know where Dave is. He likes to go to parks and sit on seats and read. I got this pic of him earlier - before Frank and Felecia arrived in his world.
I will have to get him to befriend Frank or Felecia as I need him to move to Cake Island with Derek.

Episode 32.2 – Like two Hands – December 2726 part 2

They fit together like two hands
After the dispute between Mussete Mercier and Anita Simone. Marbel was the elder chosen to talk to the Mercier family to comprehend what happened and attempt to clear up any misunderstanding.
Armel Mercier explained that there had been friction. It is no excuse for violence, but Anita was very sharp-tongued, often pointing her fingers where it hurt the sisters the most.
Later Marbel talked with Mussete alone, getting more details. It turned out that according to Mussete, Anita had called her names referring to “light living women” and accused her not to take proper care of her son.
Hard to say what the truth of the matter was, but it was clear that the Mercier household was much more harmonic after the students had left. Even the introvert Mateo seemed a lot more relaxed and content.

Despite the fact that whey where about to get a child together. Magdalena Mercier and Simon Stone did not see each other much this month. She had taken upon herself to improve her fishing skills, going to the river almost daily.
Michiko Vaughan turned 66 this month. She did not want any special celebration, just spending the day with her son.
They went to the park and talked about how fortunate they were, now living in security within the settlement, and how close the were to death when they first came here. Looking back at the often hard but also sometimes nice memories of their life together in the wilderness.
The day was very emotional for both of them, and for the first time since they came to Greg’s river, they chose to sleep close together, feeling the warmth and comfort of each other’s presence
The next day Michiko teaches some dishes with local, seasonal ingredients for the students in Greg’s kitchen.
Marbel told Greg about Mussete version of that happened between her and Anita. Several days later Greg heard Anita shouting at Jane Harper calling her a thief and an evil outcast, who did not deserve to live within the settlement. Greg never fully understood what triggered the attack, but realized that the Merciers was probably telling the truth about Anita’s sharp-tongue.
Greg called Anita in for an official educational talk about her future in the settlement. Telling her that the language she used was inappropriate and unacceptable. Sadly, he got the impression that she did not fully understand the message.
Greg decided there was no way for him not to follow his heart, especially after realising Anita was calling for trouble. He continued his affair with Mussete.
When Mussete came to visit Greg, they mostly spend the time outside, not to trigger new inconveniences.
Botan Nara seemed to go through a difficult time. He had lost most of his power in the community, at least until a new assembly was established. His wife was focused on the baby, which he could not fully concentrate on right now. This felt like a very early mid-life crisis.

While his wife was at home taking care to their new born, Botan spend most of his time hanging out in the settlement. Either in the company of his beautiful young student or drinking and playing guitar in the café
Brendon was developing into the perfect farther. Always caring for his child and taking part in cooking and housekeeping, even though he had long night shifts in the café this month.

The community did not pay for the laundry machines, they were paid by the households. This goes against the intensions of the community laundry, but it was too chaotic. The laundry was used once, by Shina Nara, after the new machines was installed, sadly I missed the picture.
Some “manual action” was necessary to create the pictures for the biographies.
At some point Greg’s home was a mess of half-finished meals, for some reason the “cooks” was always distracted. It came to the point where I chose to “manualy” finish some meals ( Michiko teaching was one of them)
Otherwise everything automated.

Donatella Cuffs arrives and says she'd like to marry Adan. Watcher checks and she has no romantic interest even. So I assume she thinks he's pretty great, to talk wedding cakes to him.

Adan sees that his poor Teddy has revived somewhat, but is still very shocked and scared about the burglar. He goes to comfort him, while Donatella looks on, thinking love for Adan. I think it's kinda cute that a straight girl has a crush on a gay man, just like in real life.

The Prophecy (part 1)
In the wee hours of the night, when most are sleeping peacefully, snow falls gently blanketing the ground with fresh powder. The moon is high in the sky surrounded by the aurora lights turning the slow-moving clouds into a colorful night sky the town is famous for.
The alarming sound of someone repeatedly banging on the door awakens some of the sleeping family.
Jamie pulls on a shirt and hurries downstairs. Damien grabs his robe and is amazed Mary is still sleeping soundly with all the noise going on downstairs. He hurries down the steps and spies Jamie ahead of him.
Jamie turns as Damien arrives in the foyer. “Whoever it is is certainly noisy.”
“Yes, let's find out who it is and what they could want at this time of night.”
Jamie opens the door with Damien standing at his side. An elderly woman stands outside with her arms up as she prepares to start banging on the door again. Jamie looks at her and is puzzled. He knows her, but he is having trouble placing who she is. Her face is blazing in anger as she stares daggers at him. He looks closer trying to work out who she is. No, it can’t be, he thinks to himself noticing her unusual blue eyes as she moves closer into the light. He expands his senses to her just as she thrusts her way into the room. He and Damien both take steps back; her presence is so forceful. He only knows one person with this powerful personality and vibrant blue eyes.
The woman begins yelling at him. “Jamison McNeil, how dare you leave me standing out in the cold and snow!" She forces her way farther into the room slamming the door behind her. “I’m exhausted and freezing from this horrendous trip to this dreadful little town. I’m starving as well, and you don’t have the decency to wait up knowing I was coming.”
Damien looks at the enraged elderly lady, “Who in Hades are you? How dare you force your way into my home, yelling at my friend like that?”
Jamie moves over to Damien and whispers to him. “um...lets not antagonize her any further. I absolutely don’t want you turned into stone or worse. Allow me to talk to her. I think I recognize who she is, but she is not the same as she used to be.”
“Layla! Is this you? What in the name of Fates happened to you? Just two years ago you were my age. And no, you did not inform me when you would arrive, just that it would be in two or three days."
“Of course it is me, Jamison!” She narrows her eyes looking at him and Jamie squirms uncomfortably from her gaze. “I can see your senses are all mixed up thinking you have found your soulmate. By the Fates, Jamison. You are not destined to have a soulmate."
“You know the prophecy you spouted to me was as obscure as mud and made no sense whatsoever. I don't think it had anything to do with my finding or not finding a soulmate especially since I've found her." Jamie does not want to argue with her about Bekka, he asks instead. "Why are you an old lady now? Who did you tick off?”
“Cursed by an impertinent trickster pixie. He didn’t like his prophecy. I don’t make them up. It is what it is, and cursing me didn’t change his Fate, but he changed mine. I’m growing older by the day and will die soon if I can’t stop the curse.”
Damien listens to Jamie and Layla talk and wonders what they have gotten themselves into. Angry oracles, curses, rapid aging, lack of sleep. He shakes his head and runs upstairs to wake Mary and change clothing.
Damien fixes a hearty breakfast with coffee and invites the others to sit down. Layla is somewhat calmer now that she is inside, warming up and getting a delicious breakfast inside her.
She is introduced to Mary and Damien who apologizes for his earlier comment to her.
“That’s ok. I like a man with spirit and one who defends his friends and loved ones. But don’t ever talk to me that way again,” she forewarns him with a faint smile, but her eyes are hard as stone.
“No, ma'am. It won’t happen again.”, he declares, swallowing the large lump in his throat.
“We will commence after breakfast.” she declares as she takes another generous helping of toast and eggs and pours herself more coffee.
Bekka looks over her notes from yesterday and realizes her dominant emotion was happiness. Looking in the mirror, she believes happy is a splendid emotion. I know there will be ups and downs in my life, stresses and anxieties and problems to deal with in my future. I just hope to learn to deal with those things in a better way.
She enjoys a nutritious breakfast, showers and starts working at her computer to order the first supplies needed to be delivered to Spring Manor for the renovation. Checking her email she has confirmation of delivery of supplies at one of her new clients and she checks her calendar and realizes she can start that job today.
She opens her journal to a new page and writes happy, satisfied.
She checks her watch and realizes it is still too early to be calling Jamie. She hopes he is getting some rest after working last night.
Layla lights the fire in the living room and begins to prepare the things she will need to contact the Fates. She spreads her special carpet down and places four candles. She talks briefly with Mary telling her what to expect.

The Prophecy (part 2)
Mary sits down in the circle where Lalya indicates. Damien and Jamie sit beyond Mary. Layla requests they remain silent during her meditation.
Layla sits down at the head of the circle and lights the candles calling on the Fates. She asks Mary to close her eyes and bow her head.
"Let this light guide me to thy presence."
“Please hear my plea Fates."
"Open your hearts to the soul before me."
"May your wisdom shine down upon us."
"Open our hearts to your truth."
Damien and Jamie both keep their eyes open and on Mary. Jamie opens up his senses and feels Mary is peaceful and in no distress. He keeps his mind open on Mary.
Layla raises her arms and softly repeats her chant requesting an audience with the Fates. Time seems to be suspended in the room as Damien and Jamie concentrate on Mary.
Layla opens her eyes and her body floats in the air above the circle. Mary remains seated with her eyes closed and head bowed. Damien scoots a little closer to Mary. Jamie watches Layla intently while focusing on Mary’s state of mind. She remains composed and peaceful. A bluish green light surrounds Layla. Jamie turns on the recorder on his phone as he knows Layla is getting ready to speak the words from the Fates.
Your death was fated by another's sad choice.
The Fates see all but evil survives.
To claim a life before it was time.
To the ether your destined soulmate returned.
The soul sent ahead to await rebirth.
Your soul trapped in winter, no renewal for you.
Despair and longing will not end the pain.
The soul reborn found his one true love.
The path is not easy.
The seasons will change.
Winter still comes as death is assured.
Spring follows winter. The pattern is set.

Layla settles back down to the carpet, gasping and collapses unconscious. Mary opens her eyes as Damien pulls her up and away from Layla. Jamie rushes forward checking Layla’s pulse as Damien kneels across from him. “Is this supposed to happen?”
Jamie shakes his head. “No, I’ve witnessed her do this several times years ago and this never happened. She’s got a pulse, she’s breathing. I think she’s exhausted because of this aging curse thing.”
Mary kneels down as well. “We must do something to help her. Jamie, please carry her up to my old room. I’ll contact Emmaline and see if she can get here quickly.”
"I will sit here with her. Emmaline will arrive soon." Mary sits in the rocking chair and watches Layla who appears to be in a deep sleep.
Jamie and Damien go back downstairs to await Emmaline and clean up the living area.
"Will she remember the prophecy when she wakes up? I didn't have the presence of mind to write it down as she was reciting it."
"She will remember, but I recorded it." Jamie pulls out his phone and replays the prophecy. They listen carefully, and Damien goes to his desk and has Jamie replay it until he has written all of it down so he can study it in detail.
"It's essentially telling us what we already know. Mary died before her time. We are soulmates and I found her. Her soul is somehow bound to winter. When spring comes, she will be gone."
Jamie shrugs. "It would be nice if the Fates would just tell us to do A B and C, but they don't. I think the big thing to gain from this is we are on the right track. Spring is a time for renewal, new growth and flowers and life abound in spring. It is all about new beginnings. Whatever we do, we must do it in spring. So, we need to get busy and find the witch.
Damien nods at Jamie. "I will do what I can to help. You take half of the names, and I'll take the other half. Before we start, what did she mean about your prophecy and no soulmate?"
"She did my prophecy a few years ago and told me it meant I would not have a soulmate. I disagreed with her at the time as prophecy is very ambiguous and interpretation can vary." He recites the prophecy to Damien who writes it down.
It does not twist or share.
A solace to the multitudes over time.
Your power is strong in one so young.
Your ancient soul spends time after time
seeking to find and searching in vain.
The Fates guide your soul as you find your path.
A reward for the service your heart finds peace at last.
"Personally, I think Bekka is my reward." He smiles cheerfully at Damien and gets his tablet out and transmits Damien half the names from the previous search.
Emmaline arrives and checks over Layla and agrees she is in a deep sleep. "Those kinds of trances will take a lot out of a young person but much harder on an older oracle." Mary explains about the curse and aging.
Emmaline shakes her head. "Curses are complex to lift, but not impossible. A potion can reverse the process but of course she needs to drink it soon. The ingredients are not available here, but can be found in Shang Simla. If someone obtains the ingredients, I could make the potion. I will give you a couple of potions that will slow the process and give her more energy. Have her drink both when she wakes. Oracles are formidable and cranky and will most likely give you a hard time about it. It would be in her best interest to drink them so do your best to convince her."
Jamie gets a call from Rebecca, and he is thrilled to hear from her and takes a few minutes away from his tablet to chat with her. He tells her what has happened during the day. She offers to come by and fix dinner for them after her job, so they will not need to stop and cook. Jamie accepts looking forward to seeing her later.

Spent most of my day trying to figure out what was the problem with this... pixelated carp on my sims' necks.
Forced the game to recognize my graphics chipset by doing what @puzzlezaddict told me to do.
Then went into the AMD Controls...
Yeah...so that's been my day so far... "We're all fine here" haven't gone off the deep end yet...

@Nikkei_Simmer Sometimes its just fun to play for fun and not worry about posing and pictures and writing. I have a couple of saves for that when my brain seems to be on a break from my stories.
Yes, those shadows do look a little bit much. I probably would not have noticed had you not pointed them out though as I generally look at the big picture and not the small details like that.
I have an AMD card and will have to look closer at some of my pics to see what I'm getting. My desktop has windows 7 on it...yep, no upgrade done on it. I keep getting notifications that I need to update and I'm like as long as it is working I'm not doing it. I keep it off the net so I don't get any surprises too.

@Charla97 I'm sorry to hear you are feeling poorly and having to go through what you are dealing with. I know reading these awesome stories and seeing the fun pictures help me in my times of stress. Share when you are able. Look forward to it. Take care of you and eat or drink a supplement or two (sorry, that's the nurse coming out, sometimes she's hard to push back)

@Karritz Bummer bout the internet issues. Hope they got it finished this time. You would think they would call and tell you if it is not so you don't waste a trip.
Found a deer out enjoying the snowfall and waiting to cross the road. 6 taxi's went flying by and I looked in map view and they were taking sims to the lookout. Even the deer was traveling to the lookout according to his tag. I guess that was the hot spot this evening. Too bad my sims were being made to stay home and find a witch.

Christopher got Lauren ready for her day because Brittany was a bit preoccupied with other things.
Brittany came back from her recent hunting trip, where she was trying to find the fireflies (all caught now) to eat her breakfast.
Christopher had the stir crazy moodlet so I decided to have him jog until it left. I didn't really have anything for him to do.
Brittany didn't really have anything she had to do today so I mostly just had her hang out with the family. It's pretty much just finishing the two jobs at this point. (Business and bookstore) Riverview/Season Two isn't too much farther.
Lauren had finished all the toddler skills that I have available so I just had her play with the block table. She also plays with her IF and the dollhouse.
Christopher asked Brittany out on a date as they hadn't had time to do so lately. Brittany agreed and they both switched into their formal wear to go out for supper.
At the Bistro, Brittany ran into Shawn Keaton so she waved and said hello. Shawn is one of Marty and Justine's kids and is the older brother to Mack Keaton, the man that Lauren will marry later. Those of you who remember my previous attempt probably remember Mack, he'll be around again soon.
After a nice supper, I sent the Steels over to the stadium to watch a game. Christopher wanted to see a movie but they were almost over when I checked the theater.
When the game was over, Christopher gave his lovely wife a romantic dip kiss for everyone to see. This was the end of their date and they both went home.
After telling Christopher goodnight, I sent Brittany out hunting for insects. She didn't find anything she needed on this trip, but most of the insects are either the ant in Oasis Landing, destination insects (Assassin Beetle, etc.), or two more Will-O'-Wisps so that's probably why.
