The only thing I'm not that thrilled is the new career salaryperson. A Sim has to work from 9 AM to 7 PM, which means that your Sim doesn't have any free time during work days if you want to do the daily task and promotion tasks. I'm already thinking of making my Sim resign because of it.

    10 hrs?
Phah! He should try 12 hrs a day and sometimes on Saturdays.
    I should resign. :s

Rinse and repeat that's why. Festivals have been done to death. Hiking is well just walking and talking. Hot springs is nothing more then a giant hot tub. The only decent thing is the build/buy items. Oh collecting those capsules are a little different but they forgot a proper display cabinet and there is no Tea.

The pop ups bother me. It seems to have so many repetitive pop up questions compared to the other careers.

I am really enjoying this pack. I love living in the non-snowy worlds, they are gorgeous. The snowy world is also but I like a break from the white so my sims just go there for day trips or vacations. I've wanted Japanese builds and those premade lots that came with the pack are wonderful.. as is the build/buy. I don't build much but I definitely don't think any lots are lacking. I've only downloaded one lot from the gallery so far though.. I haven't felt the need to go hunting for more. I love the swimmable lake but my sims usually live in the area where they can go hiking and rock climbing. Still have a lot to explore though.
I'm enjoying the sentiments and lifestyles also.. but more so the sentiments. I've made a couple that I feel are very close, I know the sentiments play a big part in that feeling and it's sweet to play with them. I actually had sims get married over sentiments, which is a change in my game play style. On the flip side I've enjoyed playing a bad sim also and watching sparks fly and seeing what sentiments do while I play. Lifestyles I'm still just playing around with to see how to unlock them all.. I'm more interested in figuring them out still, but that's fun to me also.
For activities hiking is great and gives me a more personal getting to know you feel when I send my sims off together. I love the way they interact when they hike. The possibility for running into trouble throws some possible chaos into the trip also.. and you can prepare your sims to head off trouble if you want.
The new sports are fun to play with also. It's great that rock climbing is rock climbing now. The machine is just something to practice on for the real thing. The skiing and sledding animations are great to watch and engage with also.
Even things like using chopsticks .... learning it is more accessibility than with City Living to me. Using the hotpot is an easy way to jumpstart that skill. I really like the kotatsu table also. Watching the sims sit to use it is a thrill still. The food also.. yeah the food.
Haven't done the festivals much yet.. but I love the festival outfits that your sim can get. As well as the CAS in general. Now I have lots more options for winterwear across the board.
The new traits are welcome as are the new aspirations ..they add to possibilities for playing out my game. I really like the proper trait especially.
I actually also like the new job... my sims in general often don't have jobs because I like the freedom of having them do what they want when they want usually, but in a two sim or more household I can have that sim that just basically slaves away and another that does what they want. I don't think I'd enjoy playing it in a one sim household though... but it's been amusing to me to have the workaholic, live for the company type of sim living with a cheating sim. I'm sure I might even try it in different combinations in the future. Might work well with challenge play too.

I started off moving two of my Sims there, it is a beautiful world, but I decided I wanted to play it as a vacation world instead, so moved them out. I love either going on vacation or just visiting, hiking the nature trails every morning before my Sims go to work, skiing and mountain climbing on the weekends when my Sims are off from work. I guess that is why I don't run out of things to do, I intermingle everything in with my Sims day to day lives. I don't get bored with watching them take part in these activities because that isn't all I have them do I guess. I really am loving it. Do I have complaints, of course, the hiking is very buggy, if they get distracted for any reason I normally have to start the hike over, the temple should have more interactions with it, not just making a wish on that board out front, and the festivals, don't get me started on them, just not enough to interact with at them. But overall it is a great pack and one of the best so far in my opinion.

Unlike eco living which caused me some grief and had to be fixed to be playable, snowy escape has no obvious flaws and a lot of stuff I like and potential to improve my game overall.

Besides having a real place for my Sims to vacation at, I like the added depth of Sentiments and Lifestyles added to the game. Yes, I realize we got the Sentiments part via patch, but I'm certain that wouldn't have happened but for this EP.

I love the setting, activities, style and lifestyles it gives my sims a lot to do outside of work and the lifestyles have me sim for something which isn’t like the aspirations (goals) but I also have a couple of issues with the pack.
    1. The lifestyles are at risk too quickly, if my sim has to work for a few hours instead of going on slopes it threatens the lifestyle and leaves my sim in a foul mood until I get him back out. (I’m not complaining just give the lifestyle a little more time before bad moodlets. My sim needs to earn as well)
    2. And the Onsen lot being stuck as an Onsen.
    3. The activities being stuck to that one world (like all the packs) I just wish (this goes for all not included ..... pack) they connected the packs better eg festivals in other worlds appearing, rock climbing in Granite Falls, more club interactions and logos from other packs the list goes on.

Overall they did good it’s like having a roast dinner without the roast potatoes and Yorkshire pubs, it’s a good meal but I want spectacular.

I am still not sure if I like it because other packs are ruining the experience of the game for me like Eco Lifestyles. I like the content in the game but its like how many time can you let your sim sled ,ski and snowboard and how many time can you go to the same festival over and over and not have it get boring?

A snow vacation themed pack is something I have always wanted so I'm very happy to have this. I like that the snowboarding is on an actual mountain, and that snowboarding and skiing are their own full 10 level skills. I haven't tried the rock climbing yet, but I have hiked the snow trails. I like that they interact with each other while hiking. Also the annimation of them slipping on the ice is funny. I also like that I can take them there whenever I want without having to use up all my vacation days.

I like the pack very much, but I think I like it as a world pack. The world is stunning and immersive. Does it expand the game in the way I expect from an EP? Not so sure. More objects that bring 'snowy' gameplay into other worlds and hiking in all worlds etc. would've been very welcome. But you've got to give them credit for the amazing Build Buy.

I like the New world a lot. I even like most of the content in buy mode and CAS, but wish it had more build mode. I find it still lacks features for its expansion pack price. much like island living did.

I would recommend buying it when on sale.

I like it because it fits my play style and I love the new adventure aspiration. I can see how it's not for everybody though. Mostly it's inspired me to start building gyms that have a rock climbing wall in so that I can have them practice their rock climbing skill that way before they get to the mountain - and I'm not a builder so it took me like four hours to build one from scratch last night.
I don't remember how to change my signature.

I would be lying if I said I was completely satisfied. I think things could of been done better...

The gondola ski lifts could of been way better. The fact they’re just a rubbish teleport is highly disappointing.
The mountain climbing being a timed excursion is another disappointment. Let me play how a I want.
Random school uniforms are horrible and I would rather not have them if I can’t choose which ones I want my sims to wear.
The shoe removal animation makes me want to vomit.
Lifestyles do nothing but make sims miserable. I’m failing to see a positive reason to having them turned on.
Toddlers can’t sit at the Kotastu tables. Like why? It’s just a cushion on the floor.
    The lack of snow depth.
Hiking is lovely but my sims don’t seem to be able to stop and do anything without cancelling the hike.
The festivals are pretty but don’t seem to have much going on other than that.

Overall I enjoy the pack. It just has so many missed opportunities and flaws. I know I seem super negative but we all have our opinions and I just think it could of been better.

Yep this. Let me pause to the timed mountain excursion. This really upsets me because I wanted to have my sims sleep in tents and rough it up there at my pace. Why would they make it timed? They could have just as easily had the event without a timer.

I also want to comment on the lifestyles and sentiments. Look in theory this sounded great. It is going to add more uniqueness etc. Honestly all of them seem to make the sad or tense. You know not every failure should make you sad. Some get stronger from failure. Omg my sims were smitten for each other and because they were not near each other they were getting sad. WHY???! Everything in this pack makes them sad lol. I’m depressed enough from this pandemic and now I have to watch my sims mope over stupid stuff.

I didn’t ski well sad. I’m smitten and my sims lover isn’t near sad. Look the emotions are limited so the team really needs to make them react based on traits or add another layer of uniqueness. The emotion system is flawed in a big way.

Well not really. In real life a school usually has one colour of uniform that students will wear everyday. They don’t go in a random coloured uniform each day like they do in the Sims 4. All I want is to be able to choose a specific colour for my sims so it appears as if they mostly go to the same school in a specific world.

I fall between somehow satisfied and not satisfied :U

I like the snow activities & the overall pleasing aesthetic of build/buy along with the lovely world. But it really just still falls short to me in being a completely full Expansion pack. Lifestyles is moreso the deeper gameplay to add to sims personalities with sentiments. Would have hoped they would have expanded just a little more on them for more crosspacks. What we get is a good start, but would have liked to see more. Like the hiking with how sims can just walk AND talk together, too bad you can't do it in any other world though just in that designated spot. Rock climbing pretty alright though I had one sim fall to his death. :#

Think the bigger problem I have with the pack is not enough indoor related activities or at least not much in terms of gameplay other than the kotasu & hot pot, no shoes, and the salary person career. Just some missed opportunities. Thought they might add something from that japanese/arcade pack concept drawings. STILL wanting that single arcade rather than that big honking one from Get Together. Also a futon was definitely missed in this pack seemed like the perfect thing to add to it with how the rural aesthetic of the homes are. Would have liked to see a gameplay object for sims to play like shoji. (Shame there wasn't any kung-fu introduced in this pack too.) That and just thought I'd see some Yeti in this pack. Kinda like big foot in the Sims 2. Oh well~

Other than a few sims of Japanese descendent my usual families definitely don't live here as it works better in visiting on vacation. Works better than way in my opinion. :p Almost makes Sulani more flexible in more gameplay outside the island.

Oh, so that's what you mean. Thanks for clarifying, I haven't had my Sims live in Mt. Komorebi, so I just assumed the uniform was always that blue jacket with the red skirt the girl had on in the livestream.

"Somehow" is a very good word.
I am bothered that so much content seemed to be recycled, or too similar to existing content.
And it does feel like a Game Pack sold at an EP price because of this.

But Somehow, I love this pack.
I may be jumping the gun a bit because I haven't returned for my second trip to try mountain climbing and skilling up their skiing.
But I really enjoyed that first trip.

I love the Japanese theme, skiing, the food, CAS content, building items, the world, etc.
My next trip should be more enjoyable because I updated the lounge, added a Japanese restaurant, a spa, and two households packed with young adults (organized into social groups) to help populate the town.

Very Satisfied. That's what I checked on the SE Survey as well. I like mainly the snowy part of the world and the snow sports, buy build etc. The lower part of the world is ok. The snowy part of the mountain year round is why I love this pack so much and the new Thunder Snow which sadly is limited to the mountain when your climbing.

I'm mostly happy with the CAS, Objects & Gameplay.
However, there seems to be a problem with unlocking the new black sunglasses & the hooded snowsuit.
Also, having the Mountain Climbing locked into a timed event is so anoining.
That being said, I do love the Lifestyles; especially the Techophobie.

I haven’t got it yet, But, the mountain climbing being timed does sound like a bummer, I would have loved to see a teapot sims could have gotten tea from too, maybe they can add that free later or something. And people have mentioned the close knit lifestyle is out of wack if you make friends but still want to be close to family. Hope they do some adjusting. The CAS looks good, I need more winter clothes as I don’t use CC. The Kotatsu table looks cool ( was hoping it could be used for a restaurant though ). The cooking pot for the table looks good too. The activities look great for some of my more active sims, shoe removal looks kind of neat, and it brings more traits and aspirations. Looks like it will be a good pack. Now we have a winter vacation and summer one with rentals being allowed anywhere. I like Sulani too, I hope we get another beach world but more metropolitan stuff like surfing, yachting, house boats, different than a tropical island. I would also like to see a casino pack. And I wouldn’t mind another winter vacation pack either with other winter activities. But I also want to see a romance snd farming pack first.

I really like most of this pack. I normally wait for sales, there have been a few that I hadn't waited in the past and felt burned. I don't feel like that at all this time. I think it adds a lot to my game play. There were a few missed opportunities, but overall, I like everything that the pack did offer, but I do feel like there could have been a bit more. (eg. the taking off shoes animation, the sims could have bent over at least like they were removing them and the school uniforms should pick a colour for the household and stay that colour so that all the kids feel like they're at the same school). I am not upset with the value I've received for my money spent though, there was enough here that I'm using regularly now to make it worth it for me.

Overall I think it´s one of the better EP:s but that it needs some fixes (even small fixes than can improve the pack). I made a discussion / thread on everything that need to be fixed in future patches/updates for SNOWY ESCAPE

    NEGATIVE FEEDBACK +FIXES
    1. Lifestyles needs to be fixed +ability to turn off a certain Lifestyle on a sim (=the sim can´t evolve this Lifestyle).
    LIFESTYLES
*The notification that the sim has reached the limit of how much they can work towards a lifestyle in one day => also tell me which lifestyle
*Possibility to “turn off” specific lifestyles on a sim (= the sim can´t evolve this lifestyle)
*The Lifestyles needs to affects autonomous actions (e.g. A sim with the “Health Food Nut” shall not grab servings of popcorns/unhealthy quick meals all the time)

    Close-knit / People person
*Should only count friends OUTSIDE the family (and no pets! You don´t need to be a People person just because you have a lot of kids/relatives)
*Higher minimum friends for the “People person” (you ain´t either Close knit or People person)
*Add the new relationship professional relation to avoid getting the “people person” from work (e.g. if your sim is a doctor and speak to their patients)

    Junk Food Devourer
*Fix the animation so you can add bacon / sugar on a meal when SITTING and MULTITASK (=that you don´t need to cancel the eating action to add bacon / sugar and you sims don´t need to stand up to do this).
*Possibility to “add bacon / sugar” + grab a meal when taking a serving from a group meal

    Adrenaline seeker
*Fix so you don´t get the “Adrenaline seeker” lifestyle from skiing/snowboarding on a low intensity level. Only activate this lifestyle from “high intensity” skiing/snowboarding/climbing.

    Frequent Traveler
*Need some tuning or maybe give us the ability to “turn off” certain lifestyles on a sim?
Why not just activate this lifestyle if a sim travels A LOT?? And if they travels to new destinations all the time? “Frequent traveler” will start to activate on all sims in a family after ONE longer vacation (7 days). Some of my sims are interested in skiing as a hobby, Mt Komorebi is the only place where you can ski, but I don´t want them to have the “Frequent traveler”.
    2. There needs to be a Freelance career for skiing / snowboarding / climbing: Outdoor sport instructor

    3. Kids should be able to level up Skiing / Snowboarding to a LEVEL 5

    4. The scenery should be clickable (the shops in the Wakaba area could be “rabbit holes” shops. Maybe the ability to become a business partner = own 10-100% of a shop and gain profit from it -sims 3 style)

    5. Ski / Snowboard competitions should be included. Boost your chances in winning: High skill in skiing / snowboarding +fitness skill / Bribe the judge / Cheat - sabotaging for the other contestants (higher risk of getting caught and discalified if having a low Mischief skill). Reward: gold medal + fame + cash price.

    6. Improve festivals (more things to do), easy fix: add a list on thing to do at festivals = gain satisfaction points (or ignore and get no punishment, similiar to holidays in SEASONS EP)

    7. Toddlers need to be able to sit and eat at the Kotatsu table

    8. Add the new relationship status Professional relation to avoid getting the People person Lifestyle from work (e.g. if you are a doctor and speak with your patients) / avoid getting a lot of random friends.
*All relations at work (e.g. your colleagues, or the relations with your patients if you´re a doctor) or with working sims (e.g. the barista / librarian / food stand employee) will list as a professional relation (work as a regular relationship but you will not become friend with them)
*Click on a sim in your relationship panel and choose “Get to know IRL” to start a “real” (friendly) relationship

    POSITIVE FEEDBACK
    1. Fun with more cultural worlds
    2. Lifestyles (it´s a good start, but needs some tuning)
    3. Some things to interact with in the world: hiking / climbing on walls
    4. Dogs can go on hike with sims
    5. Option for chops sticks
    6. The kotatsu table
    7. Kids can go skiing / snowboarding
    8. 2 sims can go sledding, toddlers can go sledding with another sim
    9. Different skills for each activity: skiing / snowboarding / climbing
    10. Sims can swim in the river (Can we please get a Swimming skill? = level up swimming +fitness)
    11. Athletic skills also level up fitness (climbing = level up climbing + fitness)
    12. Great idea that game changers / simmers built all the lots
