@Clousinators your welcome and also mine might not be exactly what you want for your sims right now I have a master bedroom a toddler room which I'm not sure if I was going for a boy or a girl but I think it's more girly I used white peach and blueish colors and I also have a kids bed room with white and green colors and two rooms on the second story I don't know what I'm doing with yet I still have soo much left to do but I'm not feeling that creative lately the most I can do in the sims right now is build 1 room at a time and even that takes me a long time to do.

  • Oh, I might have a go at the shell challenge! I'll get started later today.

    I like this concept, @Clousinators.

@PennyDreadPriestess Thanks! I can't wait to see what you come up with

@seaben It sounds good so far, I'm sure anything you come up with will look great, you might build something I've never thought of before and like. I have had the same problem recently with motivation to build, I've only gotten like 3 rooms done, its part of the reason I actually started playing instead of building. I also just take a break from the game sometimes and play something else

yeah lately I've been wanting to play other games as well although not to disappoint any but I'm working on my build and I'm getting routing issues and I don't know if a can fix them my sim can't use the upstairs hallway at all she could before I probably tried almost everything deleting stuff on the level underneath changing the shape of hallway to be less narrow replacing the room agian and now I guess sense none of that worked I'm going to try saving every room and placing them on the original shell like do any of you get issues like this when you build :'(

  • I made a start, I've done a bedroom and a living room, but I had to go and make some dinner. I'm going to go back and do a little more now.

Mine will be a fairly basic build, but hopefully pretty. :)

@Clousinators have you gotten any of the newer packs (i.e. Snowy Escape, Eco, etc.)? I want to try to use only the packs you have

@seaben I've had a similar issue with mixing stairs and platforms where it worked once and then I couldn't get it to work again, one time it happened I was able to play around with it and fix it somehow but the other I ended up just scrapping it, they were going to be the shell for this challenge actually

@QueenV815 I've got these packs: Ns0nfPN.png?1 I've thought about buying more but I'm trying to save money and I haven't been playing as much recently as I'm holding off in hopes of a romance or generation pack

okay thanks, just wanted to confirm... limiting myself to those specific packs is challenging, but I am going to do it!

ok i have good news :) last night i was able to fix my routing issues and for some reason i was surprisingly able to get motivation to finish my build i only took pictures of the front and the floor plan though because i just couldn't get motivation to take pictures of every room and this was what i came up with 1zAqbuz.pngG4WuK2A.pngTvTTKYf.png now i really want to get better at building so first question did i add enough lights? second question is it over kill with the landscaping? and also i tend to not be cohesive with style so let me know when the style starts to make you wander what the hell i was thinking and what my thought process is :D

@seaben Yay! you finished! I'll answer your questions first, I think there are a perfect amount of light (a little tip I use is if I kind find something to fill some empty space on a wall I just throw a wall light on there) but I think there is the perfect amount of lighting in these rooms. Also I thought your entire build was cohesive, probably more so than I can do sometimes lol I love that you added a lake in the back, I literally just started to add one to mine the other night and wasn't sure if I should keep it. The house, specially the living room has a nice warm feeling, nice use of space behind the stairs with the bookcases on the first floor and piano on the second. I like the big open kitchen dinning area, it flows nicely with the living room. Nice decorations on the kids rooms and I like that you made them brighter. I like the little office on the second floor, and both of the upstairs bedrooms are decorated nicely, I don't know which one I like more. I like that you added a balcony so that theres more outdoor space and so that the bottom patio has some cover for rainy days. This whole house matches so well, you did great!

@Clousinators thank you this build was really challenging at some point I feel like my brain shut down so I'm glad it turned out well :)

My version of the latest shell challenge by @Clousinators - welcome to the Bavarian Beauty. Play tested. No mods (and no MOO), and no CC.

    Link: https://www.ea.com/en-au/games/the-sims/the-sims-4/pc/gallery/55E7788F770911EB8089633A273E99A7

4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms (including the guest house), formal dining, study, atrium, entertainment room.

The house is located in Oakenstead in Willow Creek, and the exterior is of Bavarian influence. The garage extension has been renovated into a fully self-contained guest house. At the rear a separate, new building houses a stereotypical man cave where guests can enjoy darts, VR gaming, ping pong, a bubble-sheesha, TV, stereo, and bar. Next to the man cave is a somewhat awkward-looking pond, which is the only kind of pond one can make without MOO, lol. A huge L-shaped pool provides more luxurious leisure and exercise for residents and guests alike.

The master bedroom downstairs, hidden behind a sneaky bookcase door, has a comfy sofa inside a bay window where the residents can sit and enjoy calming water views. Behind this sofa, the luxurious bed also faces the window, and is placed on a small platform, so the views may also be appreciated from the bed. Let the beauty lull your Sim to sleep! Behind the bed is a walk in, L-shaped wardrobe, further hiding a tucked-away, ultra-private en suite bathroom. The upstairs front bedroom, rather prissy in pink, also has a luxury sofa facing the window for enjoyment of the views.

Down the hall is a tucked-away laundry room and the main bathroom. The upstairs level also contains an atrium where one can sit in peace, soaking up some rays through the glass ceiling, whilst admiring lots of plant life, both inside and out.

@PennyDreadPriestess First, great job making a nice looking build not using MOO, everytime I try and not use the cheat it just doesn't have the same appeal but you did a great job! I like the bavarian style you chose for the exterior, reminds me of a tudor style home. The little pond looks great with the landscaping around it, I also like the raised covered area next to the pool with the loungers. Nice job filling the new man cave with things to do! the bedrooms looks great, I like that each one has a different theme but is decorated nicely to go with it. I like that your turned the garage area into the new guest house. The atrium on top is a nice addition as well, would love to sit there and watch the rain run down the roof. All of the whites and bright colors on the second floor really make it seem brighter and more open! All the CC art matches really well too. Great job! I'm glad you joined the challenge!

So to get the link for anything in your gallery this is what I do: Once I upload it through the sims I get on my browser (chrome, internetexplorer, etc) and bring up the browser version of the sims gallery (https://www.ea.com/games/the-sims/the-sims-4/pc/gallery) and then click browse. I find it easiest to select "search by EA ID" then type your ID (or whoever it is that made the item you are looking for) then click on advance and unselect the "maxis curated" option. Once you click search all your items should appear and you can click on the one you want and just copy the link from the top :) It will mention the original created (in this case me) but it will still upload under your name. Hope this helps!

Thanks so much @Clousinators - my comments etc (and the build itself) have been updated while you were offline - I initially used a couple of pieces of artwork that were CC, because I was confused and unaware that you could get non-CC artwork. So that was the only reason why I was unable to get a link, because of the CC.

So I removed the CC artwork, replaced it with non-CC artwork, then re-uploaded it to the gallery. So now there is a link. :)

I started working on mine before I even posted the shell and I FINALLY finished last night. I posted more about it Here but I wanted to share it on here still because I owe a lot of you a thank you.

Thank you to those that have participated in all my challenges so far (I look forward to what you all come up with in the future) and another thank you for all the new creative ideas. A lot of the things I put in this build I have either seen from a simmer on Instagram or (most of the time) its something I have seen that some of you have created and I like it. So if something looks familiar in the build its probably because it is lol.

There are lots more photos and details in the posted I listed above but here are a few pictures. Let me know what ya'll think!

Your Legacy Home looks amazing! I am almost done working on my version of the dream home shell you provided and mine is definitely shaping up to be very different, but I used the hidden bookshelf door to the mancave too!

    Park Challenge

I have had a busy month, I got engaged! :) I also haven't been building as much but I still have a few ideas for future challenges and never know which ones will be a better idea. We've been doing residential the past few challenges so for this month I am asking that we all try our hand at making a public park, we will have another residential challenge next month.

There aren't any requirements I can think of besides the usual park items. I am also working on a park that I started last night on a 50x50 lot, however if that seems too much for you, you can do the next size down, as long as its not on the smallest lot size.

Add lots of nice views/scenery and make sure there are a few things for your sims to do.

You all always have such great and different ideas, I am excited to see what you come up with. And don't forget you can always go back and finish other challenges : Click here to go back to the list of challenges
