I have one sat on the fireplace and both options are always grey out saying it's unresponsive right now. It always is. I have maxed the medium skill and am in the investigator career but I still can't get it to work.
Also I can't summon the ghost guy either although I bought the reward perk to be able too. Anyone have any ideas or knows what I should do?

Edit: I popped back in game after typing this and got a pop up about him and he showed up and the hand has useable options now....Spooky
