    Does Rain Trigger the Box of Fireworks?

    I ask because two boxes of the fireworks were purchased as part of the upcoming birthday party. They are out on the platform in the backyard, because the birthday party is set early. Who knew it was going to rain? All I know is that this is twice that I have opened a save and after the rain began the boxes of fireworks went off by themselves. Either my game is haunted, or something triggered the fireworks. Now, logic tells me that drenched boxes of fireworks would likely be no good. But since I'm not a pyromaniac, I don't know much about fireworks. All I know is that the parents now need to purchase two more of these boxes before party time. Face/palm. So much for getting things ready, early. Bad enough two cakes still need to be baked and frosted and adorned with candles. Oi! Well, it's still 2020 is all I can say.

    Anyone have any clue why this would happen?

      I only knew of woohoo and loading up a lot is triggering fireworks.

      In RL rain would not trigger the fireworks to go off, they would actually make them not go off or if someone tried to light them, that could possibly be a very dangerous situation because they could smolder and start a fire, which could cause any not wet fireworks to explode uncontrollably.

      My husband used to work part time for a pyrotechnics company.

      Well, to be quite forthcoming, my couple had just Tried for Baby in the hot tub … I know it can cause fireworks, but I didn't think it used a box of fireworks. LOL

      I think it may depend on where you got them. There are fireworks from the romance and the different festivals. Some go off at midnight! Some go off with woohoo! If you are not in the game at midnight they may go off when the lot loads. I could be wrong but I have used some from debug. Debug is always on in my game (MCCC). I created a summer 4th of July holiday. I drag the big ones out from the buy catalog for the 4th and they have never gone off on their own. I always have to on click them.

      All of the big firework boxes start autonomously as soon as a woohoo or marriage takes place on the current lot. I really don't think it's the rain.

      @Nate_Whiplash1 they are included with the city living pack! You can buy them at stalls in the festivals. You might be able to buy them on the computer too. I look forward to seeing how fireworks enhance your gameplay lol

      I used the bb.showhiddenobjects cheat to buy some, and I tried them out (outdoors)....I think I need to put a couple of dozen indoors to really get the party started....

      Up until this time, I have always had to have my Sim light them. That's what was so very strange about it. My couple did just have woohoo in the hottub, though … LOL I got them through debug, too. Two of the festivals, trying to match the color codes for the twin girls. They're identical just like their mother and her twin sister are. So, color-coding is about the only way, beyond wearing their hair differently, is the way to distinguish one from the other at a glance.
