Forgive me, but I have to share this. My son just dropped by and showed his father and me the wedding set he is going to present his girlfriend with tomorrow. It's gorgeous. Very tasteful and classy. I think he's finally found the right One. He was married briefly before. One son. Things fell apart rapidly once he was out of the Army. He took some time before he began to date again. But, this one is a Keeper. She seems to tolerate his whacky family anyway. I'm so happy I could burst! Not only that, but the two of them will be attending Midnight Services tonight, too. Suffer me to say, if nothing else happens, I'm already having the merriest Christmas possible.

A wedding set is usually an engagement ring and wedding ring. They often interlock, but don't have to. At least that's what I think she is referring to! lol

She said, "Of course I will." But the altogether shocked look on her face, when he first knelt down, holding up the open ring box was PRICELESS. Thankfully, our eldest granddaughter managed to capture her expression. Unfortunately, since she didn't quite get where she was to point her phone, my son got left out of the photo. LOL Others, I imagine managed to capture it all. It was GREAT. It was fun, and I told them to make sure they let us know when and where so we could be there with "bells" on.
Many a time there is what they call a "wrap" that augments the wedding band. In this case, the wedding ring/engagement ring were together, and my son took advantage of grabbing both, instead of just the engagement ring, because there was no guarantee the matching wedding ring would be available at a later time. Not only are they able to be separated (I had the other half (wedding band) in the larger box in my purse for safe-keeping) but the Jeweler provided an itty-bitty box to hold just the engagement ring. Together the set is exquisite, very tasteful and classy. (I didn't think to take pictures, but once some are sent, I'll share.)

Thank you and I don't mind you saying so at all. My eldest child and only daughter spent sixteen years in a very bad marriage. The only good fruit from that union was our two granddaughters. She married again, and this husband in the "keeper". I'm excited for my son and his now fiancée. (And hoping for another grandchild or two, or however many they decide to have.)
