I've been using the platforms and there are some serious issues i've noticed, especially in apartments like San Myshuno:
You place a platform down in one of the apartments and then attempt to move the platform around and the outer walls of the apartment shift along with the platform! meaning you can expand the walls out beyond their original position.
In some cases around platforms there are gaps in the foundation that are invisible and you can see through the bottom, it is also the same if you have a platform near a door that is connected to a corner, you have a small gap you can peek through.
When raising a platform, the wall counters don't adjust properly to the ceiling height, especially on small walls.
Platforms should not be allowed to be raised beyond a certain height based on the wall height, that is to make sure teenagers, adults and elders can travel along those raised areas.
Ladders need a looking into around platforms, specifically within the 1 meter height requirement.

Ha, ha, I encountered that 1 meter height requirement in my game and it left me puzzled. I thought the units for measurements in Sims was steps and tiles, not meters.

Hm, sounds like a few glitches. But I also think many of us see this as an optional tool to play around with, and that we should consider good and bad effects as we move along. Handle with care. I never save platform adjustment before I check floors above and below, as well as approaching rooms.
I also learned that it might be more effective avoiding using the platform tool, but rather draw a room, and rise/lower the floor within that room. Most times walls and objects will not get deleted by doing it that way, unless they are reached by the platform, such as a window resting directly on the floor.
It's a complete movie theater with a viewing room, lobby with snacks and video games, a ticket counter, and bathrooms, of course. The first couple images of the theater are a bit dark, because movie theaters are supposed to be a bit dark for better viewing.
I used a tutorial to figure out how to get the bathroom under the bedroom, but this was a fun platform build!
I don't have the Spa Day pack, but I thought it would be fun to make a sauna/steam room for my Sim using the steam vents pool feature from Get Together
And lastly, a playhouse for one of my families with kids!
Sinking the floor level with platform tool allows for a greenhouse that can accommodate trees even with normal wall height. No screenshot yet, it's winter in that save.
Well, the expectations I had withered. I was unable to hook any kind of working staircase to the diagonal wall. Plus, I wasn't able to connect stairs from the landing to the second floor, either. Not sure if I just need to persevere, but I was inspired by what others have done and decided to play around with them. I have to take pictures of the other two 'remodeling' spots in Erik Cantrell's mansion. His eldest kid just aged to a Child. Since he's sharing a room with the youngest kid, a newly aged-up Toddler, I thought it best to renovate the room a bit, to give Jamison a sense of his own area, if you will. The wallcovering has also been redone for the older kid's sake. When I play in just a bit, I shall try to take pictures of the other two areas in the same home that now employ platforms.
Okay, here's another platform I added to my existing house. I didn't take pictures of what was the first platform I built, but that's because I'll likely alter it once the twins age up.
This is at the far end of Erik's Music Room.
This is how it started:
Then today I got busy and tinkered with it a bit: As you can see, with the change, I also gave him a different bookcase that I like better.

@SheriSim57 I think it's from the Deluxe edition of the game. [/quote]
I only have the Limited Edition of the game. And I have those lights. I use them on the stage for my Global Superstar who is a Rock Star, thanks to the Road to Fame mod!
Moved this here from other thread I started as this thread topic already exists/applies to my post.
Hey simmers. I thought I'd share a video of my first attempt at platforms. For the most part everything went ok.... mostly lol. But I have to keep fixing things, and rebuilding stuff that disappears while working.
I noticed in the video I have to fix the stairs again entering the bar room, as well as touch up the wall paint as it decided to disappear. Outside of that, things seem ok.
I focused on the interior of the house. My goal was to just play around with platforms. So you'll notice the outside of the house needs some work.... especially the placement of the windows from the exterior view. I also didn't do any landscaping.
I uploaded the lot/house to the gallery for anyone who wishes to copy one or two of the rooms. I'm listed under The-Muzickmage.
Have fun. Hope you like the video. (it's also my first lol)
This is a simple idea, but I love using platforms for tiny builds because it makes a small space seem more dynamic without actually taking up more space
I finally made a proper throne room with the platforms. It's in my Japanese Starter Palace for my Japanese Empress. I have it saved in the Gallery. Any player is welcomed to look at it. My username is SEREFRAS. If you like it & want to download it into your play please give me credit & thank me. I do love to share my creative ideas to fellow players & believe in being fair & honest.
I was, again, fooling around with the platforms yesterday. I can't find the copy of the current house wherein I placed my first platforms inside, so I thought, I'll just do them again. Then I got the bug. I thought it would be a great idea to elevate the corner jet tub in the Master bath of this mansion (was built for my Global Superstar). But, placing the platform changed the shape of the front of the house. I can handle replacing the outside walls, but this was just irritating. So, I gave up for now (not good to try to force things when I'm in that mood). Instead, I decided a platform underneath that really fancy double bed we got with GF would be nice. Face/palm. I built a platform, and then placed another one on top and raised it just one click. I couldn't place the bed. Then I decided to raise the height of the walls, still couldn't place the headboard against the wall. It allowed me to place it toward the end of the platform, but that looked ill-placed to me. I couldn't place their night tables, either, so I chose to expand the bottom platform to no avail. After several trials and errors, I gave up. There must be some trick to it that I'm just not understanding. Not to worry, I'll likely try again when the inspiration strikes me. And, no, I didn't take pictures of my Epic Failure. LOL

Thank you for reminding me of a past abandoned project that's now possible..
I love the bathroom under the bed build! One of my new favorite space savers, especially for tiny homes!

I made a slightly sunken living room:
And if you look closely, you can see the little mud room in the back is also sunken:
That's all I have for now
