Hey, community,
So, in The Sims 1, there was a cheat called Map_edit. This allowed users to customize 'valid tiles' (squares which objects can be placed on) and 'invalid tiles' (squares that are off limit to players) in a given current lot. Users would usually use this when they find that the lot they're playing is too small and want to have more available square-tiles to place their objects; or perhaps to construct a house/pool/garden on.
Is there an equivalent cheat in The Sims 4?
Thanks.

It didn't always make the world map look good (TS1), but nevertheless, the cheat was in fact available.
I would think that the coding in all Sims series, including TS4, would allow for something so fundamental as map_edit. Players used it to great benefit; why shouldn't we be allowed to add more squares, if we needed/wanted to. I realize that TS4 is likely using some very different system than TS1. Regardless, it should be made available as a cheat; because people need it.
Anyways, thank you both for your answers. I appreciate it.
Now, I understand.
I found Twisted Mexi's website. Looks like some pretty neat Bug-fixing/gameplay-enhancing mods. Let me check them out now!

Unfortunately, the borders of the lot are set in stone, You can not mod lots to make them bigger (according to Twisted Mexi anyway). The Tmex T.O.O.L. does allow you to move items off your lot. For example, I had a house on a lot in Sulani with a fishing sign just beyond the edges of the lot. So I added a couple of the camping chairs to the area around the fishing sign by activating the object and dragging it over to the area I want it in. I also added a fire pit and log chairs to another area. I also use it to drag wild plants onto my lots The best thing I do with T.O.O.L. is to drag unwanted guests out of my sims' homes and then lock the doors I also use it when I am trying to take photos of my sims with Pose packs and I have to move the sims around. As described above, and as indicated by Twisted Mexi, you can only use the tool mode in Live Mode. GlassHippocampus, this may give you an alternative to the ability to edit the lot. Anything that is moveable can be moved with the T.O.O.L. mod.

And no, as @SimsLady2000 said, you cannot alter the size of a lot.
Well, then, my striked post stands. (I un-striked)
Anyways, I went ahead and deleted TwistedMexi's mods. They look very intriguing, but unfortunately, because I have other mods on my computer, this one caused a whole lot of issues with textures and meshes not appearing... =\
I had to get the latest one since "Snowy patch". Problems are fixed. Quite honestly, since he made it so much easier to use now, this may be the first time I use TwistedMexi's T.O.O.L. rather than keep deleting it.
I can suspect it could conflict with other 'moving stuff around' mods.
Keep in mind a few things. T.O.O.L is not activated until "testingcheats on". Al;so anything moved and placed using this tool will stay there without any mods. The same as base game.
I recently downloaded the Tinker's 'manor' for Eco that someone made that looks and works excellent for that world. (I couldn't stand the pre-made manor. Horrible! Rather than spending days or weeks making my own, I found someone that made an excellent one!
Anyways, I noticed when I started moving things around that so much of it had to be placed with T.O.O.L.
Very well made.
There are too many problems with so many scripting mods that conflict with each other. The Sims 1 was at least more stable in this regard, since the simpler SimAntics language was much simpler and easier to manage.
With that, I'm going to leave TOOL out for now. Since I don't have a real use for it. Again, Resizing objects is good enough for me; for now.
