Bacon? HAha. Don't come at me. But I can't think of anything else that is overrated right now... Y'all have any ideas?
No I agree. I don’t really like bacon sometimes; it depends on how cooked it is and the ratio of meat to fat. But idk to me it’s just not as good as people make it out to be.
Bonjour is a French greeting used for the daytime as well as evening.
So what is Bonsoir?
It’s “good evening”
Ah. And Bonjour can be used for any time of day, right?
Yeah, I think so. Since it means "good day", I don't see why not. It's like "konichiwa" in Japanese, it doesn't mean hello (that would basically be "moshi moshi" which is what you say when you pick up the phone), it actually means "good afternoon", but because it's spoken alllll the time it just basically means "hello" now.
I was going to potentially say something more, but uhh I might've mentioned it to Frenchy and he can clearly explain French better then I can (native speaker vs. just a beginner)

Yes. "Bonjour" means "good day" but a French "jour" can mean either the daytime or the entire 24 hour cycle, just like the English "day". This carries over to the expression, meaning that you can wish someone to have a good day no matter the time of day, and it also serves as a greeting. "Bonsoir" means "good evening" and is specifically for evenings or nights, although if someone is going to bed or leaving late, we could say "bonne nuit", which is specifically "goodnight". There is also "bon matin" which means "good morning", and "bon après-midi", which means "good afternoon".

Yeah, French is my second language too. I think we learn more France-French in school, but most native Francophones in Canada are Québécois (and probably most French teachers in Canada too). Maybe the meaning of “salut” in Québec is primarily as a greeting? I don’t know.

You are correct. Most of my friends who are learning French are learning a better one than the one we actually use in North America. I always tried to keep a good French and speak as well as I can, but over the years it has gotten more difficult as most of my life and influences are gradually becoming more English.

No! I looked up the meaning of the word in French and it just means good. There's no evening in the word according to a French dictionary. I don't know where people are coming up with the idea that bonsoir is a form of greeting in French. It's not, it just means good in French.

I am francophone and I can tell you that if I ever hear someone tell me that "mon gâteau est très bonsoir" I would raise an eyebrow or two.
I am pretty sure that you cannot use it to replace the word "good". Maybe it's something less used in France, and in the traditional version of French, but it's definitely related to the evening. I found a definition in the Larousse so hopefully this helps.

This is so strange, I just looked up the word again in the Merriam-Webster dictionary. And it does mean good evening in French.
But when I looked it up the first time in a French to English dictionary. Bonsoir just meant good in French. I don't know, the internet can be so wacky sometimes.

Tell me about your favorite drink to enjoy in the fall/autumn.
🤷♀️ No autumn here. But I wonder if you guys have 'special' drinks for each season.
Not much to say about that except that they are not special drinks. I like to drink hot chocolate, hot coffee, holiday custard, eggnog in fall and winter.
Conan Exiles is almost finish updating. This Conan Exiles update is said to have vanity mirror in it. Which means I can finally change my exile's appearance with out having to start a whole new game. But I can't play now because it's to late to play Conan Exiles. So I have to wait in-order try out this new vanity mirror thing. Sigh!

I forget how to make eggnog. But I do know that it calls for eggs of course, sugar and maybe something else. Which is the part that I can never remember.
Conan Exiles just finished updating! Can't wait to try out that new vanity mirror!

That's good to know. Cuz last time, I thought eggnog for some reason had no eggs in it and was just one of those things that have a name that has no relation to the ingredients. XD Cuz I was like, "Who drinks eggs..... XD"
I'm thinking of making an eggnog flavored dessert like an eggnog pie or eggnog cookies! ;P

Pizza. It can be good, but i'm not like OMG THIS IS AMAZING whenever I eat it.
Even if they're in French fries form? :O

And saw Egg island or however you spell it
This reminded me of Sims 4 Nifty Knitting
Culver's in WI might be good, but it isn't anywhere else

TL;DR: bonsoir means good evening
