    WCIF a mod to use Rey's voice?

    I've really been wanting more voice options for my Sims, so I'm excited that Rey has a new voice with an accent! Is anyone creating a mod to unlock her voice for use by all Sims?

      I explained it on the Mod Request thread but posting here too JIC, but Rey's voice is actually incomplete (RIP :cry:):


      But thepancake1 and I (from frustration and also wanting British voices) are working on a similar voice mod that should make people very happy. It's coming along well so far, no ETA though but I imagine fairly soon. Basically, we're using the voice clips from TSM, teaching an AI to sort through them, and then it imports them to TS4. The voices will have to be added through an in-game menu though since adding them to CAS is impossible, but we already have a system in place for testing pitches, selecting the types, and soon assign to all sims or only select sims. Hopefully we don't run into any problems and the rest of this goes smoothly.

      Just wanted to drop by and give an update, but we're getting there! We ran into a few snags here and there that made it seem like we couldn't proceed with our current method, but we've got it solved and now getting closer to release!

      This project sounds truly amazing, woah! I love how they were able to do Simlish versions of Rey's and Kylo's voices, but was disappointed that they had only simple vocals -- so if you were to ask Kylo or Rey "About Day" they would suddenly become mutes, lol.

      I'll be keeping a close eye on this voice project :D

      I really wish someone would request this of the sims team instead of a mod. If enough of us support the idea they may fully voice Rey and make it a selectable voice for all sims... The voice is incomplete, if a mod author does manage to make the mod, some interactions will not have voiced lines because it is an incomplete voice. I'd like to see representation of more accents in the sims, perhaps from many different places in the world.

      The special npcs Kylo Ren, Hondo Ohnaka and Rey have their own voice types (_ky, _ho, _re), I don't know how to select those voice types for played Sims, but if you don't mind doing the work you could remap Rey's voice to Female Voice Type 3 for example, of course all Sims with that voice type would then sound like Rey when the replaced sound events are playing.
