There is a mod coming to swim in other worlds and Brendleton Bay is one of them.

Where might this mod be found. I would seriously be interested in this.

Also given the pink lamp tweet thingy, probably something surrounding relationships. Maybe in an update as the Murder Mansion pack is a possible leak. I do wonder when they'll announce it though. She said a few weeks so that could mean mean next month or so.

I seriously hope and doubt that the sims games will ever have anything on gambling ever again. Gambling destroys people's lives, let's be serious.

So does drinking (juice, nectar, fizzing, etc.) and smoking (bubble blower). That being said, we all have our vices and they can be managed responsibly, gambling included. If we have to hold to this serious standard, what about things like cars? They are inherently dangerous and do destroy a number of lives, and if we ever got them you could simulate drunk driving with juice, but I do not think that is a reason not to allow cars in the game.
Exactly this if we banned everything that had potential to destroy someone life Get Famous would have to go just look at the life of celebrities and how fame destroys peoples minds and lives. Its so weird how people pick and choose what's bad sure gambling can be a addiction for some so can food and many other things when someone goes overboard.
Sims 4 went from "You Rule" to "One of the stories we want you to tell"

I am pleased to see that the discussion of casinos is growing.

Yes, I want a Gambling skill and I want my Sims able to become addicted to gambling. 😈

I want to finally be able to deck out the basement mancave with premium tables and slot machines.

We actually had poker in the Sims 2 and you could lose money from playing

Sims 3 had poker tables and slot machines.
There’s even a gambling game in the new SW pack. It allows you to cheat, win and lose money.
As long as gambling is simulated only, there should be no problem adding it to a teen rated game.

I would much prefer a romance expansion pack that reintroduced the turn-offs and turn-ons system, or a winter vacation expansion pack with hotels. I wouldn't mind seeing an amusement park expansion pack too but that seems unlikely.

But honestly romance should have come with the base game and a winter vacation expansion pack should be a whole vacation expansion pack. Not just winter and that's it.

Well, clearly you don't remember TS Hot Date and TS2 Nightlife which expanded on relationships and dating mechanics. Having a romance-based expansion pack isn't out of the ordinary.

If the winter vacation expansion pack includes hotels/resorts like the survey mentioned, then I'd say it's worth it.

@chacce But Nightlife wasn't romance based. They came with the whole nightclub, lounge, bar, vampire, downtown thing and the dating was just a small part of it. And honestly I don't think they should be making the same EPs they were making 16 years ago. It doesn't matter if turn-ons and turn-offs were not in the Sims 2 base game, they should be in the base game in 2020. It's romance. It's an important part of life and relationships.
Also the sims 2 base game had tons more romance interactions like many different kisses, hugging, cuddling in bed. Those are things we should have in the base game in 2020.

Also the vacation thing is something they have done in the past with 3 vacation destinations, a way for you to create your own destination and functional hotels too. So I think they could pull of more than one winter world.

You're a big dreamer. We all know that EA would never include past expansion pack features into The Sims 4 base game. We don't even have basic features like cars or better babies. You really expect them to put a whole EP feature into the base game?

There was a survey in 2015 with a potential "Find Love" EP which included features such as SimMatch dating app, new romantic getaway spots, a romantic reputation system, bachelor & bachelorette parties, etc. Simmers in the forum has also suggested better weddings, honeymoons, wedding planner active career, turn-ons & turn-offs, slow dancing, and many more. All those things could be included in a romantic-based expansion pack.

Also, I find it a bit hypocritical that you said they shouldn't be making the same EPs they made years ago, but then saying they should do 3 vacation destinations like they did years ago. Make up your mind.

@chacce Just because we don't expect them to do doesn't mean we shouldn't keep requesting it. Just sitting there and accepting everything EA does without saying anything has brought us to the point where we're asking for cars, romance and free babies in expansion packs and not the base game. Just saying "that's how EA works" doesn't really help, does it?
Also they did add several expansion pack features in the Sims 3 base game and some in the Sims 4 base game. They can do it with their budget believe me.

Also it isn't hypocritical because I am talking about different things there. I said we shouldn't compare packs and base game from 16 years ago with the ones we have in 2020 because obviously there should be an evolution in the game and not just the same old restrictions we had so many years ago.
And this is where the vacation expansion pack comes into play. I think that if they did that huge of an expansion pack with the Sims 2 they can make one as big or bigger in 2020. So I did make up my mind but thanks for your concern.

oh i forgot to mention, last year one of the simguru comment in a waterfalls archtype, he said that he would love to use it in some future expansion, it was because of this that there were several speculations that the next package would be futuristic since eco lifestyle had not been announced yet. however I don't think the next pack is time travel, say the whole year was very content focused on tech?

Yes an Indoor Mall Waterfall. I was the one that asked SimGuruDuke about that.

I would be extremely happy if quarterly announcements were a thing once more. It would build up our excitement if we had more bits and pieces of an upcoming pack in advance.

As far as November's EP goes, I'm keeping my expectations low (plus, my old laptop died, R.I.P, and I don't think I'll be getting a new one until Christmas or so, so I'm playing other games on my fiancé's computer until then) but still wishing it's something that adds replayability. I've said it before, and I'm sure many Simmers feel the same way, what The Sims 4 lacks is personality and immersion as most of the packs don't really connect to each other and their features (with some lucky exceptions, thank goodness) can't be combined or used in a multi-layered, super creative way. I don't know, this is how I feel.

I've got a hint it may have something to do with romance or hobbies, though. Fingers crossed.

It won't be as late as Christmas. I"m expecting Early to Mid November.

The one difference I see is that fizzy juice and bubble blowing don't have to be interpreted as those vices. You could say that Sims are drinking carbonated grape juice, and literally blowing bubbles. With the lottery, though, it can't be easily interpreted as anything but a lottery where Sims buy tickets in order to win money. And I'm totally okay with not having cars in the game too. :) Although my Wayne and Garth would be sad if bubble blowing were gone, lol.

I'm going with a winter theme with maybe romance tied in somehow. There has been a lot of talk about eloping and the new patch which allows you to do that in vacation world's plus the thought bubbles in niffty knitting about sledding. I think a baby update and generations will come next year at some point. (At least I hope so)

Yep a Honeymoon Destination to the French Alps would work in a Romance Pack.

Ohh my gosh! Or should I say ohh la la! That would be so exciting!!

How can a modder make all bodies of water in TS4 swimmable when the gurus themselves said they couldn't do it because places like WB would require a creation of all new textures, for that body of water in WB. Did they not tell us the truth? I took them at their word. :smirk:

I wish they could make swimmable lots placeable like in TS2. Windenburg and Brindleton Bay have some lovely beach areas that would be good swimming spots. Or add some kind of sign post, like the fishing post, that when placed, would allow sims to swim in a defined area.

When they say they can't do it it means they don't want to take the time and resources to do it. Personally I'd rather have another blank world as an update.

It is utterly mind boggling, ain't it? I'm still reminded of how every body of water in TS3 was made swimmable after the Seasons EP...
Or the fact we could actually you know, build underwater areas and actually DIVE, especially as mermaids.

I mean, sure texture wise if you look at it it's a bit rough in the video as those areas were not intended to be swimmable, but I highly doubt that is something so out of reach for the current dev team, especially considering it's a big quality of life upgrade. But then again, they are ever so fixated on spending money developing things almost no one wants instead...
