Speaking of the MIA members, here I am!!! I decided to pop on just to say "hi." I got notified as soon as I signed on that I am a member of the Order of the Ancients. And, lo and behold, isn't that the topic of the day!
I've been exploring a lot of other games via XBox, so haven't been doing much on my aging laptop. Although, I've found that if I point a regular fan at it while I'm playing it doesn't overheat as much. Played some Sims 3 and Subnautica: Below Zero. Didn't think I'd be playing those until I manage a new computer.
|Also, I had a lovely bout of Covid. A couple days in particular were pretty rough, but I came through it fine. But lordy was I stir crazy by the time I was given the "all clear" to leave the house. Finally got back to work today.
@goodFeel93 I agree that there are some dramatic differences in quality from one hair style to the next. But it brings to mind one of my pet peeves... Often mens' short styles don't match up with beards, leaving a gap between them. You'd think someone would have established where hair style and beard meet and kept the designs consistent. I frequently find myself opting for a style I like less just because I also want my Sim to have a beard.
Well, I didn't read back very far, but happy anniversary to anyone who has moved up a year. And to my fellow Ancients, I will be sending invites by owl to our next meeting.
(I just checked and June marked my eleventh anniversary on the forums. Also, there are currently less than 1,100 members of the Ancients club. Now I REALLY feel that we deserve something special.)
@goodFeel93 - Happy 2nd Anniversary. I just checked my badges. I thought I maybe had a 9th anniversary badge but found I had a 10th anniversary badge. But then I spotted another anniversary badge with an exclamation mark. This June, I apparently earned the Ancient Membership badge. LOL. I plan to be here until EA pulls the plug on the forums.

Greetings from the inferno (at least, that's what it feels like). We're in the middle of another heat wave, and yesterday the local temps reached 118°F (the converter tells me this is about 47.8°C). It seemed a bit surreal to see that number on the thermometers and local stations. I've been helping a neighbor with a few things for the past week, so I've only logged in to lurk.

Although, I've found that if I point a regular fan at it while I'm playing it doesn't overheat as much. Played some Sims 3 and Subnautica: Below Zero. Didn't think I'd be playing those until I manage a new computer.
|Also, I had a lovely bout of Covid. A couple days in particular were pretty rough, but I came through it fine. But lordy was I stir crazy by the time I was given the "all clear" to leave the house. Finally got back to work today.
@goodFeel93 I agree that there are some dramatic differences in quality from one hair style to the next. But it brings to mind one of my pet peeves... Often mens' short styles don't match up with beards, leaving a gap between them. You'd think someone would have established where hair style and beard meet and kept the designs consistent. I frequently find myself opting for a style I like less just because I also want my Sim to have a beard.
Well, I didn't read back very far, but happy anniversary to anyone who has moved up a year. And to my fellow Ancients, I will be sending invites by owl to our next meeting.
(I just checked and June marked my eleventh anniversary on the forums. Also, there are currently less than 1,100 members of the Ancients club. Now I REALLY feel that we deserve something special.)
