Community Voted Stuff Pack 3: What simmers want, and when?

I'm one of those that is irritated by CVSP. I sort of am ok with Laundry Day (mostly for the hair and clothing options) however haven't even considered buying Nifty Knitting as I only want the rocking chair. When given the choice the community seems to go with "boring" options. I would love to see a fun tech, wedding, or self-care routine theme, but put it into the community's hands and I just know the community will find a way to suck the fun out it. I will never understand how knitting beat out glass blowing and edible art for example.
This goes to show how different people think because I truly find edible art to be one of the most boring things they could have possibly added while I could go either way with glass blowing yet I wanted knitting for my elders. But none of the options were truly exciting knitting for me is nice to have if I ever buy it have not really touched live mode since "Island with nothing to do" came out so I have no desire to buy a pack until they do something worthy of buying packs again.
Sims 4 went from "You Rule" to "One of the stories we want you to tell"

I feel the same. Edible art would be there and gone. It's why I don't get excited about new foods in the game. It's fun to look at for about 2 minutes and that's it. Glassblowing could have been interesting but it wasn't something I desperately wanted, and I had a feeling that we'd just end up with yet another giant item that doesn't fit in with a regular household!

The knitting skill is actually quite versatile, for me. Yes, I can make stereotypical elders if I want to, but, more importantly, any sim aged child and upwards can do it. It's going to be handy when I want to play "historical" sims or families living off-the-grid.

I haven't always agreed with choices made during the voting process, but that's just how it goes. For example, I hated the fact that so many CAS items were chosen that weren't knittable or even woollen, but in the final pack I do quite like some of those items anyway. I was especially disappointed that, in my view, one of the most boring hat styles ended up being the only one we got, but that's how voting works and none of us should expect to get everything we want in a community-voted pack because there are so many views to contend with. So yeah, there are things that bug me but I'm happy with the pack in general. I think the amount of content we got compared to the content in some of the older stuff packs, is significantly increased.

I feel the exact same way about edible art, and I'm struggling to see how carving a watermelon or decorating a cake or whatever would be less boring than knitting.

Granted, I'm biased since I've been wanting knitting in the game for about 15 years.

I think ceramics would be interesting to have Sims try out. Casting from molds, throwing clay, cleaning greenware to get ready to fire in the kiln. Glazing/painting items casted or thrown. Sims could create a number of careers from this field, ie: Open your own ceramics shop where you produce and sell items, teach classes on ceramics at the university (would need a new field added for study). There are a number of things I can think of.

I don't think that Eco Lifestyle is such a bug ridden mess as people think. It's just that they don't know how to play it!

Please no more CVSPs. I'm through with 1960s household activities.
• Although I voted knitting (and it was actually my favourite stuff pack so far I really enjoy it and it has a lot of value for me) I’d love to see glassblowing and a few of the other arts and crafts coming in too like ceramics.

But I’d really love them to to turn happy haunts into an GP or EP. I’d love a playable grim reaper, ghost hunter and psychic/medium set of careers and some rabbit hole ones like mortician, grave digger and grave robber (for all those naughty Sims out there). The 🐸🐸🐸🐸 matchmaker would be cool with some fun fortune telling aspect as well. Haunted house tours you can take or ghost hunting parties/events. Man it could be so much fun!

I like new recipes, but unless your Sim earns (or cheats) the Fresh Chef trait it's going to spoil way too fast for my liking.

Knitting, OTOH, has been incredibly useful -- it's something my Sims can do pretty much anywhere, they just need the knitting basket in inventory, and it's easy to stop and resume if something better comes up. And Plopsy has been awesome especially for my painters; I've seen paintings sell for as much as 14K Simoleons! My Fine Arts major pretty much paid her way through University with Plopsy sales, and had enough left over for a well-furnished apartment in San Myshuno. (Once she moved in her college boyfriend a few more good sales gave them enough for a house in Willow Creek before their first son was born.)

I wouldn't call Laundry Day a "1960s household activity" unless you like wearing stinky clothes. And yarn crafts have been steadily increasing in popularity especially with the lockdown and people looking for things to keep themselves occupied. I've taken up crochet again after a hiatus of a few years (I couldn't see clearly what I was doing) and it's a good way for me to avoid snacking while I'm watching TV. B)

Wedding theme would be the best for a stuff pack because it wouldn't require too much more gameplay and would be neat to see worldwide weddings in it and would cater to CAS mostly.

LOL 1960s. Doing laundry and crafts are much older than that and I agree are a modern activity now too. I actually am able to use the laundry and knitting packs a lot with the upgrowth challenge that covers every generation from the 1800s to the 2000s. I like how people want the Sims to be more realistic but actually want a fantasy world of no chores. Shows that RPG comes in many forms beyond just Star Wars and supernaturals. I like to knit and crochet too. I wouldn't mind more outdoorsy activities too like sports especially since that has become a more unrealistic activity with covid this year. Sims has always been a mix of RPG and life simulation and what I loved most about it since the beginning. Stories never were limited then.

This is the Upgrowth Challenge HollieBB made. Kind of fun how it uses multiple generations so those packs cover a lot of generations.

What do we want? Happy Haunts!

When do we want it? NOW!

I kid (with regards to the 'when') :p HH would be nice, though.

I wouldn't mind Happy Haunts if we could have Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze Sims make some pottery in it as in "Ghost" That would include ceramics as well! That would make me very happy.

Two for the price of one. ;):)

Weddings since I think wedding items are limited especially in terms of wedding dresses. I would like a wedding dance like daddy daughter dance. I would like the option to create wedding parties with flower girl, best man, maid of honor, chaplain/priest/minister/etc, bridesmaids, ring barer, etc. Maybe even events such as runaway bride/groom who gets cold feet.

More kids/toddler/baby stuff. I miss the cribs from The Sims 3, as well as the outdour play options we had. Tree houses, slides, seesaws. Also more normal modern style furniture, rather than themed. More Ikea inspired. If my The Sims 3 wasn't lagging so much, I'd go back to playing that more. We had way more build/buy objects there. Poolslides & -bars, hotels, activities. The Sims 4 is a lot player friendly and easier to work with, but there's just a general lack of content unfortunatly.

I'm another one who would personally love to see more done with the arts and crafts idea and maybe actually see more forms of different arts and crafts included beyond just one type of media!

Also, why not include some that kids can also interact with?

Arcade theme but I'd REALLY rather it be a Casino theme. Arcade theme is closest. I really miss the casino games from Sims 3.
It's kind of sad that I have to point out that anything I say is only just my opinion and may be a different one from someone else.

I would absolutely love another culture pack(Similar to the Salvadorian Pack). This time, it could center around the African diaspora culture. A new world that highlights the positive aspects of different countries in Africa, more hair representation that suits black people, African cuisine(jollof is my all time fav :))

My first instinct was to say HAPPY HAUNTS because I miss the generational aspects of the Sims 4 and wish they'd do more with ghosts and supernatural. But then I realize that really, I want Happy Haunts as a Game Pack, and not a Stuff Pack, so they could give us more depth with it. So, for a STUFF PACK, I like the idea of DANGEROUS. Yeah, a little danger could be really interesting! And I also like Arcade which might give my kids have a new lot type to visit besides the Park.

Knitting is just knitting not Arts & Crafts. Eco Living is a bug mess. Anything EA does at this point is untested and incomplete. Total bull waiting weeks for a patch that will address the serious issues. They spend more time with sales department and less time om content and fixes.

I agree I would rather have to wait and have minimal bugs and issues in the game than have a game that hasn't been properly playtested and then beta tested.
Playtesting - not just tabletop games and card games any more. Really that should have been playtested in Beta and not

I would love a new city pack, with skyscrapers, something urban, maybe something along the lines of Neon East from The Urbz: Sims in The City. I would love if there were like sushi resturants or stores which were like apartments, in the way that they were inside building shells, but on the bottom floor. And maybe have some tiny apartments alongside some bigger ones. I´ve seen alot of people seem to want some smaller apartment options.

her's a good idea for next pack fix all the bugs that have been around since cats & dogs release like the music stopping but stereo is still on and the new bug go to MT ski game just freezes and crash and the new door bug a door put in new build Sims go off lot tell them to go in and they wave their hands and show the blocked path bubble I once played a vr game like Second Life we all reported bug to mods they did what is happening here fix one or not then one day the game crashed took then 3 days to find the corrupt code and fix all the bugs and the new ones the courupt code made (sorry if that came off a bit harsh but hate going in my game and not being ably to enjoy it like before the bugs)

I don't really want more stuff packs at all, unless it gives us more cold weather outfits or swimsuits, 'cuz those clothing categories are really lacking compared to the others. But for the most part I'm tired of so many stuff packs that do nothing for gameplay.

I'd rather the team stop stuff pack development, and focus their workers time on fixing bugs, basegame revamps, and adding gameplay that has depth to it. More stuff really isn't needed at this point, even if the community voted on it.

@Sheepiling did we just got a pack with only cold weather outfits?
