7 years ago, The Sims 4 was officially announced at gamescon! Check out the official announcement video below

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeEIjJ9yMuc

During this event they previewed the new build tools, CAS features and even showed some early gameplay!
The game then came out a year later in September 2014. :)

Wow, where did those years go?? I remember how upset people got when they learned about the lack of toddlers and swimming pools before they were added later. xD

I hope not. This game is far too buggy and needs more content.

Exactly, in his latest review...he said EXACTLY what I thought with the "overstaying" comment.

7 years later and some simmers are still hanging in there. What I often wonder is what happened to all of the outspoken let's boycott crowd. Occasionally someone will post in a thread from years ago and I love going through and reading the comments from members who gave up long ago.

I like reading old threads of people saying what they want in TS4 but didn't get

I like going through the comments and seeing people slowly lose hope over time.

The Sims 4 hasn't introduced a new musical instrument since 2017

Whatever is being done, someone will always be displeased...

I had never saw this video. Thank you for posting.

I couldn’t help but 🐸🐸🐸🐸 at her description of the sims themselves. How she said that with a straight face I don’t know. :D “Your Sims will feel all emotions!” (Except fear, we didn’t add that)

I’m guessing the emotions passionate and depressed were removed as I have never saw them in game.

Yeah, I mean it's not that the game doesn't have it's fair share of flaws waiting to be fixed, but all in all I still enjoy it and have fun.

    That's 6 years ago isn't it? 2014-2020 is 6 years.

I think op is refering to the announcement date instead of launch date.

I don't think I ever watched that announcement (I did not play the sims back then), but I remember watching a gameplay demo from IGN where Graham Nardone and Ryan Vaughan played the game. That was almost a year later though.

I do very much hope they have learned from this when they finally move onto the Sims 5. I didn't touch the Sims 4 until toddlers were added.

You get the feeling that hopes from the team were high at the time and dashed by EA sacking staff and lowering budgets soon after.

Oh gosh. I can't bring myself to watch any videos with Ms Franklin in them, she gives me a strong urge to puke in a big bucket.
