    When will The Sims 4 Officially End?

    I've watched the video from Iron Seagull speculating TS4 will end This year, Next Year or the Year After. TS4 has to add fulfill the requests from the players like me like Vehicles with Garages, Babies with Strollers, NPC Police, NPC Burglar, Spiral Staircases, Casino Lots, Winter Vacation World, Additional Main Worlds similar to Newcrest, Color Swatches/Color Wheel for CAS & Build Items. To the forumers, When will TS4 end?

      I personally don't see cars ever coming, how would that work with neighborhoods surrounded by water? Be stuck in just that neighborhood? Build bridges? What if the neighborhoods with no roads?

      I don't see babies ever being freed either (although I hope I'm wrong). People have been asking for that since the beginning and 6 years later they have yet to do it.

      They have stated before spiral staircases are "too hard". One Guru in an interview just recently stated something to the effect of "Look around at the modding community, if they haven't done it yet that means it's hard to do"

      The NPCs I could see them adding, now whether those would be base game free updates or come in some pack that's the question.

      I could see them doing a Winter Vacation world, or a Casino lot with one functional game play item, I don't see them ever making a casino with 3-4 "casino games" with animations tho.

      And, I for sure don't see them ever adding any type of color wheel (unless it was forjust the skin tones) and not for other CAS/B&B items, they would have to redo every texture for that, there has to be channels for that in the texture. TS3 textures had sections of it separated and put on a channel that could be recolored/retextured. TS4 textures are one single texture. I just don't see that happening, not this late in the game.

      But, hopefully we'll get some of that stuff when TS5 releases.

      No idea. I feel like it changes every year by adding a few years each time. Sims 4 needs a lot of help still and time. But engine is showing its age and only a matter of time before competition swoops in.

      3 but then they extended that. 4 months ago they said many more years.

      I would have said 2021 if it weren't for the "TS4 is going to be around for many more years" comments.

      I really like TS4 but I do think it's time they move on to TS5. It's been more than long enough and with the technology that now exists just think how much better TS5 could be!

      They don't seem to have a plan for how to finish this game. And they also seem unwilling to improve the core features of the game. So I'm not sure what Maxis is planning to be honest. I guess they just want to keep adding packs forever.

      I find it kinda boring to be honest, I would be fine with them continuing this for a while longer if they wanted to improve the game but they don't...

      At this rate they will make spiral staircases for the sims 4 in 2026.

      I’m actually less and less excited for Sims 5, so I’m in no rush!

      2023 or 2024 but if it's still a success EA could decide to renew it for 5 years.

      The Sims 5 could be released while The Sims 4 is still running, the situation would be the same as The Sims FreePlay (2011) and The Sims Mobile (2017), both are updated.

      It is really hard to say at this point. One would assume there is a plan for 5 in the works, and has been, but that means very little especially in terms of predicting a timeline. I could believe that they could have simultaneous development and that we will have packs in 4 until its launch. The thought of a carefully crafted 5 somewhat comforts me, but I have no true expectations of 5 or 4's ending state.

      Honestly, 4 still feels like it needs stuff to me. I understand the issues with core mechanics, I have many of the same gripes, but even some regular things like certain occults and parts of family play are missing. 4 does not have that many special firsts in comparison to its relatives to make it that memorable. I understand the temptation to bury it, but had I been ready to do that it would have been at base.

      Those that are ready for 5, feel free to ignore 4. It will eventually get here. In the meantime, I plan to enjoy what I can.

      I think it might be a more gradual transition. Eventually the base of the game will need modernization and graphics upgrades.

      I do think there's still more in the game to develop. I'd be happier with a gradual transition or rebranding.

      After the 3 packs of 2020 it seems that there is no technical possibility to add anything substantially new to the game.

      I think we'll get our last EP in 2021, but we'll still get a GP and SP in 2022.
      It's kind of sad that I have to point out that anything I say is only just my opinion and may be a different one from someone else.

      The latest possible , but as casual, they let the game incomplete and buggy as sims 2 and sims 3 when ts5 will come.
