In other news, didn't do much in The Sims 3 yesterday. I tried playing my Lisa's Lament save. All that really happened was that Janbot 01 got abducted by aliens three nights in a row. Then the game froze.
Fear not the fae, for they are harmless. Anger not the fae, beware their wraith. Harm not the fae, fear the Faerie Knight.
I normally play with all the needs on static, but given the one time I played them on dynamic was a family of four as my first ever game... in Bridgeport... and the apartment was set alight because I had no idea how to play the game, in 2012.
Also, it's a right honest pain in the neck to Engineer a Baby in the future when your Sims aren't created as married to begin with.
So, I decided to play with the needs on dynamic for the first time in eight years, and that means I have to start small, with a family of two: Tara and Elena, whom I have created as a married couple.
I do everything I can to work in daily dates until the Eternally Faithful moodlet is gotten. Two daily dates down, eighteen to go!
Also, Elena tried the new Brain Freeze a la Mode... and not gonna lie, it's aesthetically pleasing.
A minor detail generally only visible when they sleep together are the matching(ish) rose tattoos - Tara's white rose, to Elena's red rose. But the former's rose tattoo is covered by her everyday clothing for the most part.
Although Tara has picked up cooking classes, Elena can conjure basically anything she likes for the whole family, short of Ambrosia...
Basically, Tara and Elena have gone once to Oasis Landing together to learn Advanced Technology, and to get the wishes to earn certain legacy statues - Tara's Renowned Philanthropist, to Elena's Lustrous Entertainer - which are each pretty generous... 20,000 lifetime happiness a piece!
Tara of course checked the lottery records... but only came back with 5,000 simoleons - not enough to donate to the Plan The Future Fund! Especially since the household only has 40,000 in the bank. And for once, I refuse to use money cheats, so I resort to selling off items in the base camp to add to the bank.
As a side note, the dream pod WooHoo animation is really cool!
Then Elena went back on her own to level up her Advanced Technology via the windcarver because it's faster to do so in Oasis Landing, and got Time Travel Sickness. Despite the fact her Unlucky trait would shield her from an untimely death, I decided to get her cured anyway because I sort of care about her - she's named after a singer I like, Pasch'e Elena (Pacheva) - and I don't want her to suffer, even though she comes back anyway like Kenny.
Tara went back on her own at the conclusion of a nice date with Elena, and managed to check the lottery records again... but by the time she came back, it was too late to buy a couple of tickets from the grocery store, so last time I saved the game, I put them both to bed.
Actually, it's not too bad playing two Sims at once with dynamic needs. I am a tad worried about when it comes to a child to be engineered in the future, as well as when it comes to careers... but that's currently not the concern as the household funds are eaten away for the first twenty days with daily dates. Then the earnings will come... unless, of course, they win a million in the lottery like Seb and his household did!
Not a lot that a million can't buy...
But there's a lot that 40,000 can't buy!
Also, the pool table at base camp is so entertaining - especially compared to books - that I don't want to ever move out of it!
I like to start with a single sim. Eventually they get married, have kids, and so forth. With 3 to 5 kids in the household things can get more then a little hectic. At which point, having a Plumbot capable of cleaning and helping with raising the children is very handy.

Been struggling to find a save to match my mood... which pretty much cancels out any "happy" save attempts. Maybe a good ol'Apocalyptic save pre-Apocalypse... will suit my mood better.

Don't worry about it ... Playing with dynamic needs is no problem,
as long as you can start thinking ahead of what's in your face on the screen.
It doesn't matter if a child comes in either.
You know what your Sims need to survive, and everything won't always be perfect.
It may help to try and find the next best thing to sliced bread.
Personally ... Thinking about what to do with the sliced bread, is where I try to focus.

I can currently hear flames raging in my game, I think one of the neighbours must be having a fire or something. I did get an NRAAS-related pop up where one of the Sims looks singed, but I can’t see any fire. Anyway, must get back to the game, time for Martin to do some early-morning fishing...

I would assume Grover was a male name, but I should have known better.
I have a calico cat in real life ... And her name is Genghis Kahn ...
I named her Patches when I first picked her up from the pound ...
But two hours later her real personality came out and her name was abruptly changed.
My sims had a small but comical misunderstanding. I can understand a limited amount of Spanish as I learned it from high school, and as an effort to keep my Spanish speaking going, I changed my game language to Spanish. The translations do keep my busy!
So I thought it would be fun to make one of my teenage sims pull a prank on the Bachelor family. One of the pranks is called 'Bolsa en llamas'. I figured that the sims has an obsession for llamas so I figured this would result in some llama themed prank. So the sim went to their house, and much to my surprise, he took a paper bag and set it on fire! I was really surprised. This caused chaos and then the police showed up and escorted that sim home. The Bachelor family was a little peeved with my sim also.
Lol @Anthonydyer ... "Bolsa en llamas' in a standard translator means 'Bag on Fire'
However ... I laughed extra, because not knowing the translation, and with what you described ...
Well, where I come from, I would have the suspicion that the burning bag was full of llama poo.
The object of the prank being to have someone run out the house and start stomping on the bag to put it out ...
Thus ending up stomping around in llama poo ...

I couldn't get the Shields save to load without crashing. However, I have a previous save from the same day, so I'll try loading that one and binning/replacing the house in a new save tomorrow.
In the meantime, I played the Drakes today. Frankie aged up to teen. I still need to put him through CAS.
Saturday (Week 1) morning, Brittany worked on her alchemy skill and brewed up some elixirs to use. She needs to get started on throwing 50 elixirs.
Christopher woke up and he was very happy to find pancakes in the refrigerator. Abraham Finkel must have made them as I know Brittany didn't.
Since the weather was nice, I had her throw a pool party. She can't use the pool as she doesn't unlock athletics until Twinbrook which is season three of the nineteen seasons.
I invited Leighton Sekemoto over but I didn't invite any of the children. However, Brittany was very happy to see Sam as she hadn't seen him since he left daycare.
Nobody wanted to use the pool so I made Christopher do some diving. Later on, a few people did use it but the majority either danced or used the sprinkler for fun.
I have no idea what was going on that led to this but I later found Beau Andrews fighting with Christopher. Apparently he was complaining about something so I had Christopher tell him to leave. Beau left but said the party wasn't fun and he didn't enjoy it.
Christopher and Brittany shared some alone time together when the guests decided to leave. They are standing in water because Christopher didn't mop after fixing the sink.
Christopher went to bed but I decided to have Brittany run around town to do a few things. Here she is cutting more gems to sell as she still has a bunch of leftover ones.
I had thought all the guests had left but in the early hours of the next morning, Gus Hart was still there playing with the dollhouse. I had something planned for him.
First of all, I had her throw a potent melancholy elixir at him which made him angry. Then she threw a potent bliss elixir at him before throwing Flask of Sleep at him. Fortunately, he didn't fall asleep here but took off.
Brittany and Christopher had their first breakfast together at the same time. The previous day, they ate separately.
Unfortunately, Christopher and Brittany's romantic time Saturday caused Christopher to be accused of woohoo with an occult. He headed to City Hall and successfully sued the other party. Afterwards, I sent him to take a few classes around town to make him a well rounded Sim.

Yeah, you did get lucky. I know the owner of the new place fairly well, he does construction as his main job and I used to help him when I was in high school. If I want something other than Casey's, I got to go to our counties biggest town as it has the bigger chains like Pizza Hut, Papa Johns, and a place called Monical's Pizza. Not sure if you have one of those in your part of Illinois or not.

Since Christopher was gone, Brittany worked a bit more on her alchemy skill. She's getting closer to gaining a skill point, a protest may be in the cards soon to get this done a bit faster.
I had Brittany take Abraham with her to gain favor with the Weather Stone again. These two then hunted together (well, not really. It was a group hunt but Abraham read a book the entire time) but they didn't find anything that she is missing for her collection.
One of the skill challenges for social networking says you must meet 25 Sims using the SimFinder app. Brittany met a couple but will meet some more later. I'm only meeting 5 in the first five towns as I don't want all the pudding running around.
Monday was Brittany's first day back at the daycare career but she slow danced with Christopher while waiting for the children.
The kids showed up a bit after 9am and Brittany went to work. Christopher helped out too and they got things done a bit quicker than she does alone.
Unfortunately, I got interrupted when Sue burnt the sink and counter with her flame breath. She ate hot food that caused her to do this. Luckily Christopher and Brittany got it out but I think it may have dragged the childrens needs down. Then, to top it off, Brittany scared the children when the full moon forced a transformation. Brittany had two kids in good moods and only one in great so she didn't get much progress on her bar. I'm just hoping she completes the job before the four weeks are up, otherwise she'll have to continue until she reaches the top.
The other household members went to bed so I had her do some hunting. Yet again, she didn't find any missing items.
Lastly, while Brittany hunted, Sue Scotch was abducted. At least I don't have to worry about a pregnancy.

Tara went back on her own at the conclusion of a nice date with Elena, and managed to check the lottery records again... but by the time she came back, it was too late to buy a couple of tickets from the grocery store, so last time I saved the game, I put them both to bed.
Actually, it's not too bad playing two Sims at once with dynamic needs. I am a tad worried about when it comes to a child to be engineered in the future, as well as when it comes to careers... but that's currently not the concern as the household funds are eaten away for the first twenty days with daily dates. Then the earnings will come... unless, of course, they win a million in the lottery like Seb and his household did!
Not a lot that a million can't buy...
But there's a lot that 40,000 can't buy!
Also, the pool table at base camp is so entertaining - especially compared to books - that I don't want to ever move out of it!

as long as you can start thinking ahead of what's in your face on the screen.
It doesn't matter if a child comes in either.
You know what your Sims need to survive, and everything won't always be perfect.

I can currently hear flames raging in my game, I think one of the neighbours must be having a fire or something. I did get an NRAAS-related pop up where one of the Sims looks singed, but I can’t see any fire. Anyway, must get back to the game, time for Martin to do some early-morning fishing...

So I thought it would be fun to make one of my teenage sims pull a prank on the Bachelor family. One of the pranks is called 'Bolsa en llamas'. I figured that the sims has an obsession for llamas so I figured this would result in some llama themed prank. So the sim went to their house, and much to my surprise, he took a paper bag and set it on fire! I was really surprised. This caused chaos and then the police showed up and escorted that sim home. The Bachelor family was a little peeved with my sim also.
However ... I laughed extra, because not knowing the translation, and with what you described ...
Well, where I come from, I would have the suspicion that the burning bag was full of llama poo.
The object of the prank being to have someone run out the house and start stomping on the bag to put it out ...
Thus ending up stomping around in llama poo ...

I couldn't get the Shields save to load without crashing. However, I have a previous save from the same day, so I'll try loading that one and binning/replacing the house in a new save tomorrow.

Saturday (Week 1) morning, Brittany worked on her alchemy skill and brewed up some elixirs to use. She needs to get started on throwing 50 elixirs.
Christopher woke up and he was very happy to find pancakes in the refrigerator. Abraham Finkel must have made them as I know Brittany didn't.
Since the weather was nice, I had her throw a pool party. She can't use the pool as she doesn't unlock athletics until Twinbrook which is season three of the nineteen seasons.
I invited Leighton Sekemoto over but I didn't invite any of the children. However, Brittany was very happy to see Sam as she hadn't seen him since he left daycare.
Nobody wanted to use the pool so I made Christopher do some diving. Later on, a few people did use it but the majority either danced or used the sprinkler for fun.
I have no idea what was going on that led to this but I later found Beau Andrews fighting with Christopher. Apparently he was complaining about something so I had Christopher tell him to leave. Beau left but said the party wasn't fun and he didn't enjoy it.
Christopher and Brittany shared some alone time together when the guests decided to leave. They are standing in water because Christopher didn't mop after fixing the sink.
Christopher went to bed but I decided to have Brittany run around town to do a few things. Here she is cutting more gems to sell as she still has a bunch of leftover ones.
I had thought all the guests had left but in the early hours of the next morning, Gus Hart was still there playing with the dollhouse. I had something planned for him.
First of all, I had her throw a potent melancholy elixir at him which made him angry. Then she threw a potent bliss elixir at him before throwing Flask of Sleep at him. Fortunately, he didn't fall asleep here but took off.
Brittany and Christopher had their first breakfast together at the same time. The previous day, they ate separately.
Unfortunately, Christopher and Brittany's romantic time Saturday caused Christopher to be accused of woohoo with an occult. He headed to City Hall and successfully sued the other party. Afterwards, I sent him to take a few classes around town to make him a well rounded Sim.
***Part two is coming up a bit later but next I want to work on feedback and catch up with you all.

They get along real well, thankfully. I've got a loose plan for them but for the most part I'm letting them do what they want for now.
He must have been. I've never had him do that unless the motive is red but it must have been a special occurence.

One of our local radio stations played some yesterday morning. They have a four hour event every Sunday where they play country oldies. I listened to some other songs later that I like by Elvis.

Yeah, you did get lucky. I know the owner of the new place fairly well, he does construction as his main job and I used to help him when I was in high school. If I want something other than Casey's, I got to go to our counties biggest town as it has the bigger chains like Pizza Hut, Papa Johns, and a place called Monical's Pizza. Not sure if you have one of those in your part of Illinois or not.

Since Christopher was gone, Brittany worked a bit more on her alchemy skill. She's getting closer to gaining a skill point, a protest may be in the cards soon to get this done a bit faster.
I had Brittany take Abraham with her to gain favor with the Weather Stone again. These two then hunted together (well, not really. It was a group hunt but Abraham read a book the entire time) but they didn't find anything that she is missing for her collection.
One of the skill challenges for social networking says you must meet 25 Sims using the SimFinder app. Brittany met a couple but will meet some more later. I'm only meeting 5 in the first five towns as I don't want all the pudding running around.
Monday was Brittany's first day back at the daycare career but she slow danced with Christopher while waiting for the children.
The kids showed up a bit after 9am and Brittany went to work. Christopher helped out too and they got things done a bit quicker than she does alone.
Unfortunately, I got interrupted when Sue burnt the sink and counter with her flame breath. She ate hot food that caused her to do this. Luckily Christopher and Brittany got it out but I think it may have dragged the childrens needs down. Then, to top it off, Brittany scared the children when the full moon forced a transformation. Brittany had two kids in good moods and only one in great so she didn't get much progress on her bar. I'm just hoping she completes the job before the four weeks are up, otherwise she'll have to continue until she reaches the top.
The other household members went to bed so I had her do some hunting. Yet again, she didn't find any missing items.
Lastly, while Brittany hunted, Sue Scotch was abducted. At least I don't have to worry about a pregnancy.
