my Sim just sat down to knit her very first Beanie, on her own, having never picked up her needles before.
Now knitting a beanie in roughly the time between lunch and dinner is pretty fast for any knitter, let alone a beginner, but what I really didn't expect was for my Sim to achieve level 4 of the knitting skill by the time she finished her first garment. The quality is normal- im relieved it isnt excellent.... but I'd kind of expected the first couple of knits to be poor quality, just like when you start out cooking.
Is my Sim mysteriously talented with supersim style skill gains or is knitting just too easy? I was looking forward to the challenge to be honest, as I worked my way through every variation of every knittable item, but im worried that by the time I get to my second sock of my first pair (second sock syndrome anyone?!) I will already have maxed out the knitting skill!
So tell me please, after you finished your first beanie what skill level was your knitter?

Yeah I got to level 2 and it was normal quality. I'm also not having problems selling my stuff on Plopsy either, a lot of folks seem to be having issues.

What mood was your sim in? Being in the right mood/emotion can make a sim skill up faster. The skill bar will glow in the colour associated with that emotion when this happens.
And does you sim live in a tiny house with the skill boost?
I wish it felt more like a challenge. I already use a mod from Zero to slow down the rate at which my spellcaster levels up and that made it feel much more enjoyable for me. I had to actively plan to get some magic done in order to see results. I would like to see the same thing with knitting.
This skill won’t be fun for me unless I can make it feel a bit more like you are learning from your previous knits. That it takes a few finished objects to get better.
A new mod to slow it down or Triplis adding the knitting-skill to the mod that makes it possible to lock that skill. Otherwise I will not buy this Stuff Pack.
Her grown daughter got bored of knitting after the first beanie and didn't want to knit anymore lol. I wonder if that depends on their traits.
Ohh... now I am intrigued. This sounds really interesting
Thank you!
Was so worried that it would go up too quickly. Will get after I got mods and stuff checked.
