Again, this is stuff I always dreamed of seeing in The Sims games I never thought we'd get it. And it's kind of sad to me how surprised I am. Not just because they're indie and a very small team, but because I don't see The Sims team doing stuff like what they are. And I know the game isn't released yet, but still this is the type of innovation I want to see. I just said this in another thread but Paralives team often has me like, 'What is this? This... this is possible?'
I also mentioned how I wonder if him being able to reflect on his existence is a part of his personality and they're working on that aspect now too or if that's just something all Parafolk will be able to do. His description makes me think it's personality related but I guess we'll find out soon. I'm also guessing we'll see his child soon.
There are a lot of details shown in that video. Like that tiny raised platform going out of the kitchen. And how he's wearing a tank top with a racerback (is that what it's called?). I'm really excited to see more

Race Against the Clock: Can your elder sim turn back the clock before their time runs out?
I'm looking forward to its release. I don't know if I'm going to buy it yet, but it will definitely be a good wakeup call and competitor to sims. I'm loving them showing their process through it all!
The questions people are asking tells me they are just dreaming of sims 1 2 3 4 and (5)combined 😂😂 not sure paralives is going to fill that gap for them. Though I'm sure it will have some nice features. Thanks for this btw.
I'm cautiously optimistic, mostly waiting for confirmed live mode gameplay to see whether I would buy the game or not. Not too picky on graphics either so long as the gameplay is interesting and innovative enough (I don't want it to be a carbon copy of the Sims games) but they are a small team so I'm keeping my expectations low. Either way, EA/Maxis need more competition because I think the monopoly made them too complacent. Will Paralives or another one be a serious competition? only time will tell.

You know, I think it's smart to keep expectations low. That way we won't be disappointed.
However, I was watching a YT video a little bit ago of a completely different game (a medieval city building simulation game) and it is so detailed. The guy reviewing it plays mostly city building sim and strategy games so he has a lot of experience and knowledge to reference from when thinking about and observing the elements of most games of similar type. And he was so impressed with the level of detail in the game, comparing details in it to details missing from other games. And the thing is, the developer is ONE man who says he sometimes brings someone on to do mocap or voice acting. If one person can do a lot, I think it's personally fair to assume that a small team can pull off something really great. But again, like you, I am cautiously optimistic.
For me, I hope they focus on gameplay and don’t try to “beat” TS4 CAS or BB. Sims 4 can keep their CAS babe machine and their dream house building tools. A game that focuses on more immersive, thoughtful, and consequential gameplay would be such a different game than TS4 and way more fun for those that find TS4 lacking in that regard.
Nothing innovative or different in Paralives. Just Sims doesn't have this in base, but we do.
What are they doing other than chasing sims?
If there are bugs can they really handle fixing bugs and a rabid fanbase?
They are not planning on DLCs, so what is their business model? How will they keep the game fresh.
I'm not interested in a rehashed sims game.
Plus they still are atheistic in game development, and that is profoundly distasteful.
Hard pass for me.
wocka wocka wockaWho gave that puppy asparagus?please do not send me private messages - they creep me out 🤢🤮😱

This game better happen. I DON'T WANT WHATEVER EA'S OFFERING to be the only option!
