@FrankieDanySIMS I didn't realize you played TS4. Thank you for sharing your pics because I am unfamiliar with TS4 and the genetics of the game but it seems quite interesting.
Bernard is really not so ugly. It is mostly the eyebrows that mar his appearance. I like the two dark haired boys very much

Thanks @Mikezumi ... but the brown boys were deleted and I kept just the blonde one...
in the Sims CAS is not easy to get "ugly" but still looking as REAL people ... I mean I do not like at all what is published as "ugly to beauty" because those are monsters / deformed and not normal people ... same thinking about the "mega fat abominations" or the "thin to the bone" ...
I like to keep a normal look to people so I do not stretch the program to make monsters.
That's why Bernard may also look cute... I do appreciate him too even if not the handsome one
@HillyBeth I am okay with @FrankieDanySIMS sharing TS4 pics because I know nothing about TS4 genetics and am interested. I already said as much in my response earlier.
@Mikezumi Okay. From past experience I know it's technically wrong to talk about sims 4 in a sims 3 thread and vise versa. Also Daphne, Rose, and Opal are gorgeous! I have Opal's hairstyle in my own game as well.

I really like genetics as well! My founder usually gets all the freckles and beauty spots you can get. Then, if possible, I will pair him/her with someone who looks totally different. If the Sim has dyed hair that's the best!
@HillyBeth Thanks. I like the way the girls in the family are turning out
As for it being technically wrong to post in the wrong section, I don't think this is the case always. This thread is about genetics and although it is in the TS3 section, I welcome any discussion on genetics. It's only wrong when simmers give each other grief over which iteration is the best and I am not into petty behaviour like that. I don't want to play TS4 myself but I don't condemn others for playing whatever they want. There are TS4 posts earlier in this thread where my TS3 friends have moved on to TS4 and I was more than happy for them to post about their new sims.
Simming is simming
@Keljah08 I have found my inactive families inherit freckles and beauty spots but not my active sims. Not sure why that is but it's easily fixed if I want my active sims to have them
I hope you will show me the genetics in your game when you are able to post pics Left you an awesome to help with the points
UPS sorry... I'm new in this forum and I thought was Sims4 ... never played 3 ... jumped directly from 2 to 4 ... and the 1 just a little bit (for the poor old grafics and because the family was always crying at the tomb of the husband dead in kitchen fire at the early game).
Happy family legacy to you all
@FrankieDanySIMS Don't worry about it. We all start somewhere and I had no problem with you posting your TS4 sims here. I am interested in genetics and just because you play a different iteration it doesn't make it any less interesting for me
I will definitely show you my family gene pool as soon as I can. Like I said, I usually put all the freckles and beauty marks to my founder and then I would see them appear on some of the descendants. Some of them would have only one beauty mark, some would have a full freckled-face. So much fun to watch, especially when those characteristics skip generations!
Brett is beautiful! (I know that boys aren´t called that, but he is!!! )
Here are my comparisons between my father´s pictures and their last 5 children (they have 15, I wouldn´t spam your thread so I just picture the youngest "kids")
(It was a hard learning process for me to place the pics of them next to each other so it´s not as neat as I hoped. I tried a few days to put this pics together into one and to cut them, never done that!)
Haldir (left) / Travis (right) in the middle their kids:
youngest one Thore
Tyler
Tius
Tara
Timon
This is the game´s genetic, as you can see they inherited a lot from Haldir, not so much from Travis. Fortunately I love Haldir´s appearance!
Timon´s hair is white because Haldir´s mother has white hair, so he inherited it from her.
@AlexaKry Thanks Brett is the result of EA genetics and is the mix of two of my older sims from a different save and I also think he is beautiful
The kids really do have most of their genetics from Haldir but they are good looking I actually like white hair on sims
@Mikezumi , I'm looking forward to seeing the children of those two, because their features are so different!
Also, because of reeading this thread I've put using the Random genetics mod on my Sims 3 to-do list!
Thanks @PalmArrow I have been picking partners for my heirs carefully because I want genetic diversity. No point marrying sims who look alike!
I think you will like the mod. It's made a huge difference in the offspring in my active household and throughout the town
Thank you @Mikezumi !
I know that my Sims don´t look as real as yours but I really like their look so having another Simmer who´s Sims are beautiful telling me mine are too is great!
I love the blue eyes of Joe!!! He looks very good!
