Simsovision 2020 is in process! The concert will be in August. You can find all the information and follow the singers and their stories HERE. You'll need a web page that translates.
Hello EA friends, please don't lock this thread as this is an ongoing yearly contest. Thank you.

Yes, I did this aria "Quia Fecit Mihi Magna" from Magnificat by JS Bach for my college music recital (in real life) when I was in College University Transfer Bachelor of Music program way back in the early 90s.
Of course...as a bass/baritone...our repertoire is pretty limited as our roles in opera are confined to the father, the sage, the villain or the mentor to the hero (usually a tenor). We baritone/🐸🐸🐸🐸 had a serious hate-on for the tenors (those bloody buggers) who seemed to always get the best roles and the best technically challenging arias, while we were relegated to just how impressively low we could go without sounding like "toads in a drainpipe".
Klaus Mertens (baritone/bass) and Ton Koopman Conductor on this recording.
Anybody know if there's any way to activate World Adventures "Singing" animations through Moviemakercheat enabled on? My sims don't need microphones to project their voices. My opera singer sim (when I make her) will be able to project her coloratura soprano voice to the back of the auditorium.

Patricia Petibon "Ah, Mio Cor Schernito Sei" Georg Frideric Handel from his opera "Alcina".
But the Simsovision contest sounds fun...
Always "River McIrish" ...and maybe some Bebe Hart. ~innocent expression~
@Nikkei_Simmer It is fun to watch. I just watched the 2019 performance. There were some amazing performances. It’s fun to rate them and then go on the Sims CC forum to see if you got it right.
Here’s one that I really loved. It wasn’t the best filmed or the most professional, but it is the only one that made me laugh and come back and watch it a couple more times. The first 30 seconds or so is the background of the singer and then they go into the performance. And it’s a great song. Now it’s stuck in my head.
I've got more of a video idea in my head. If you speak Italian...you'll get the words to that aria.
Credete al mio dolore,
luci tiranne, e care!
Languo per voi d'amore,
bramo da voi pietà!
Se pianger mi vedete,
se mio tesor vi chiamo,
e dite, che non v'amo,
è troppa crudeltà.
And...well...guess who stars in THIS video. ~evil expression~
Fitting in the context of the translation of the words...into English.
Always "River McIrish" ...and maybe some Bebe Hart. ~innocent expression~
@Nikkei_Simmer Well I don't understand Italian, but if that is River in that picture she sure is looking better.
The singers in the contest aren't the only performances. Established stars also make guest appearances. These are made by the incredibly talented people who present this contest I think. This is one of my favorites:
The character in the opera who sings this aria is named "Morgana"... And well... y'know...there's a character in Sunset Valley named Morgana. So... Alcina is about betrayal. GF Handel was the original "drama-queen" when it came to "soap-like" relationships.

I would love to have that set of animations...for the singing. I'm seriously thinking about asking some simmer who is an animation guru to cook me up some operatic animations.

The only animator I know of right now for Sims 3 who takes requests is PurpuraSims. You have to join her discord server and achieve gold status before you can submit requests.
The contestants are all up and you can vote for your favorites HERE. Notice the English translation after the Russian words. I missed that at first!
If you'd like to read the backstory and interviews with the contestants you can go to this thread and click on their pictures. You'll need a translator. Google translator has worked best for me.
I am rusty @ZeeGee You might laugh at this but took me forever last week to remember how to upload patterns to the exchange. Was so stressful I made a pattern video and promised them to everybody but forgot how LOL.Thought a mob was going to pitchfork and torch me for taking so long.
When I started this thread, Simsovision was a Sims 3 only competition. The venue was built in Sims 3 as were all the contestants. As of last year, Sims 4 has joined the competition. A builder was found who duplicated the Sims 3 stage for Sims 4 performers and somehow talented editors add a Sims 4 sim to the host of the competition. So the point of all this is, maybe I should start a new thread in the Sims Franchise section with all this information. And let this one die a natural death.
One more post! The performance streamed LIVE this morning (in the U.S.) and it was really amazing! Voting is open for about a week I think and then they'll have the finale show to announce the results.
Come on Sims 3 fans, let's keep our beloved game on top!! Go vote for your favorites! Link to vote is in the first post. Here are some of my favorites: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tgxtTkGsBs
