    I've always wanted height sliders! <3
    I would also like it if they brought back neighborhood progression(Like what MC Command Center does) and I guess bringing back the color wheel would be awesome too.

    I have MANY suggestions for Sims 5.

    For example, private schools. Let's say in the town there are two automatic schools, a private school, and a public school. The public school would work just as it did in the sims 3 (In my idea the map follows the sims 3 layout, not sims 4), children and teens would go to school in their everyday outfits. However, in the private schools, sims would have to wear uniforms. Also, just like with the Get to Work expansion for Sims 4, you could go to build mode for the private school and set up your own uniform. you could even set a tuition for every week, and if you wanted to you could set gender restrictions (not to be sexist, just to make it realistic). The way you would do this is to have a public school for anyone, one private school for just girls, and a private school for boys, or just one private school. Another thing to add on is having a separate elementary school, middle school, and high school. This would work if there were more age options (child, preteen, and teenager.) I also think they should add back universities. The only bug with this idea is that there would be multiple schools in one town, but maybe there could be another town simply for the University (such as in Sims 3) Also, to enroll in a private school a parent sim could use their phone, computer, or with the sims 3 map layout, simply click on the school. I think it would be cool to have a "tour" option for schools. Maybe the sims could even take their kids to the school, where they meet a principal NPC. One thing I'd love to see is where you could actually follow students to school, such as with the doctor, police, and scientist professions, but this isn't a necessity to me. I wouldn’t mind a university and private school EP instead of a base game.

    My next suggestion is illness and injuries.

    Sims 4 tried to add illnesses, but to me, they weren't very impressive. I haven't experimented with illnesses much, but I think we need more of a variety. Also, I'd like to focus more on injuries. Maybe clumsy sims could be prone to get injured at work or school. They go to the hospital and the doctor says they have to use crutches for a week or have a wheelchair. There could be many minor injuries, such as falling down the stairs and needing crutches. And maybe something severe like getting a concussion. Maybe if the sims injuries are so serious, they could be sent to the hospital, and their pictures would be greyed out. It would also be cool to get a hospital bill, and if they are in school, there would be a "Make Up Work" option the next day they went to school. Also, let's say a sim doesn't think they need to go to the hospital. For every day they procrastinate, the injury gets more severe. To explain this in depth, let's say a kid gets a concussion, and two days after the injury, they finally go to the hospital. Normally, the conclusion would last maybe 5 days, but since they waited to be treated it would last 7 days because they didn't get treated. I'm not sure if this is accurate at all to the real world, but I think some research should be done to make sure it's as realistic as much as possible. I wouldn’t mind this being in EP as it seems a bit complicated for the base game.

    Another suggestion is clothes.

    I was very disappointed in the difference between sims 4 and sims 3 CAS. We had many more options in Sims 3 and I would like to see those options return (Color wheel). However, I did like how Sims could buy outfits in the Get to Work expansion pack. It'd be nice to have that again in Sims 5. Also, I think there should be more stores, and that we shouldn't have to build EVERY store, with a minimum of 10 mannequins. I think there should automatically be a layout for clothing stores. Also... WE NEED MORE WEDDING DRESSES AND TUXEDOS!! I can only recall there being a couple of dresses that could be considered a wedding dress in Sims 4, and only one in Sims 3. We should be able to go to a store to buy a wedding dress, and maybe just evening gowns all-together. Also, since the details in Sims 5 are supposed to be more intricate, it'd be nice to customize more of the clothes, such as length of shirts, skirts, pants, etc. One idea is when going in CAS mode, you could click on a shirt, and there would be a customization mode where you change it to ANY color, maybe even add a logo or picture, and change the length or width. All of this would be done on a mannequin version of your sim. And when you're finished, you could click done, and even a "Save" option for future use.

    One thing I don't want to change is Build Mode. To me, it was so much easier to build a house in Sims 4, and hopefully, they keep that format but add more to it. Also, I like how you could change the land plots in sims 3 "Edit Mode". I would really like that feature back.

    I would like to have the ability to adjust height, also more pets to come with the pets expansion.

    This is not a suggestion for the sims 5 base game but instead for a expansion/game/stuff pack I hope they make. I really really want a historical pack (ranging from all periods of history). Although I would not want the pack if it was just romanticised clothing as romanticised history is not fun at all :(.

    Because it would take forever to read all these comments, I am making a list, so apologies if any of these were mentioned before! (p.s I'm not mentioning the obvious ones like create a style, except open-world deserves to be here)
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Open-world
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Horses (and more realistic horse tack: the cinch is a direct hard material that irl would not be ok for the horse. Sorry, it's just horse riders can't help but notice this, it kinda ticks me off, but EA did a good job for the most part.)
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Cars (or basically vehicles)
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Create a hairstyle (this could be fun, especially if you could mix hair. imagine the ugly to beauty challenges now xD)
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Height slider (i had the mod a bit ago, but it was quite unproportionate)
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    For god's love seasons. If they make this for Sims, thannnk you EA!
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Better timing. It shouldn't take my sim 2 minutes to open the fridge
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    More pets besides the minor and major ones already in TS franchise
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Better babies. Right now they are just really annoying to take care of, and whenever your sims have kids, it's straight to the Age Up button.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    More than 8 sims in a household.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Town editing like in previous TS games.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Go to school with your kid/teen sims! This would be pretty fun. And once again, I know there's a mod, but it would be great in TS5
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Soo, here's my short list :expressionless:
    It was an accident! I swear!
    I like the ideas so far. Sorry I haven't replied in awhile, life got pretty crazy and I'm recovering from injuries.
    I like the idea of private schools-- I would add in the option for home-schooling. I would also like to have time period neighborhoods where you can set it to be modern, futuristic, or sometime in the past. And have rural areas as well as big cities. Rural areas could have dirt roads and horse drawn wagons/carriages. For more medieval type times, sims could ride horses, donkeys, camels, etc.
    I'd really love to have some Star Trek and Star Wars content. I'd like to be able to set some sims so they could be like Vulcans-- unemotional for the most part.
    Elevators
  • SuceressSuceress Posts: 1,679 Member
    Elevators would be cool as well! I'd love to have various kinds. Some old small creepy looking ones, to large grand fancy ones. Some older ones with just bars/grilles around them to ones with glass walls. Different shaped ones would be cool too. Some could be like Turbolifts from Star Trek and others could be round and the tubes for them to travel in could be round. I've seen some fancy glass ones on the outside of buildings where passengers can see out.
    The ability to drop out of High School, and for every job you try to get, you may be denied because of your lack of education, or if you do get it you'd have a lower pay and different job levels, as well as not being able to get the highest level possible. You can always go back to High School, though. Parents/Guardians might also have problems with this.
    Ha ha! Four year thread, but perhaps very timely now. I have been thinking about these things, too. Here’s what I would like to see in Sims 5:
    Gameplay that could keep you up all night if you weren’t careful.
    Sandbox play friendly game. The ability to create any story you want. Challenges to keep you on your toes, but not so much forced questing that it overwhelms the game.
    Lively Sims with unique and interesting personalities.
    A whole bunch of Sims 3-like traits.
    Really good CAS with which you could create very individual Sims, and even recognizable celebrity Sims or real people — without straying into the uncanny valley — they will still look like Sims. Not that Sims has ever been uncanny valley, but just a little more control than we had in Sims 3. Good head shape and body shape control, and maybe even cleft chins, gap toothed smiles, etc. Numerical sliders. Curly hair. Long hair for men!
    A color wheel, or enough color and texture choices that one could create cool clothing, interiors, and buildings.
    Sims without extreme rubber faces, silly walks, forced smiles, etc., so that you could actually appreciate their individual faces and features. Not the cartoony Sims of Sims 4.
    Sims not so stylized that that would be all you can think about when you see one, but Sims that can make you get lost in your story.
    A game that is not too unrealistic, but is still quirky in the great tradition of The Sims.
    Life states like witches and vampires, but a way to customize your game for those who don’t want those things, or for those that don’t want them in every neighborhood. And not witches on a polarized continuum like in Sims 2, but witches that can be as individual and unique as the character you create. Although I never got a chance to play Sims 2, I kind of liked the freedom to create your own witch society in Sims 3, and a Sim that could be their own mix of good and bad, just like a regular person. You could make them as skilled (or unskilled) as possible, and then do whatever you wanted with them. Maybe they could be like that with even more features.
    A lot to do for musician Sims. More instruments (flute? sax?), maybe rock bands with singers, and a way for more instruments to play together. And I love the upright bass, but please, real electric bass guitars in rock bands for us bass players (although, I guess that was a real quirky, retro, Sims-like thing to do).
    I know not everybody may want this, but I would love some British Invasion and seventies rock and fashion things to play with. Or maybe some modders that create it. Maybe some punk stuff might be fun, too.
    Cities, open neighborhood, and beautiful scenery à la Sims 3.
    A detailed and comprehensive building system so that one can build anything.
    A game where interesting things happen all the time and you keep finding new surpises, even after playing for years (à la Sims 3).
    A romance system that functions properly. Sims that will be faithful and Sims that may not be, but not any Sim can do anything to your Sim at any time.
    A way to play different houses, but insure that the game won’t make extreme unwanted changes to your favorite Sim families while you are away. A game that won’t get in the way of storytellers creating the story arcs that they want, but enough happening in your neighborhood to make the town seem alive. That way, you won’t feel forced to crowd all of your favorite characters into one house in order to protect them from Story Progression.
    It might be fun to be able to design and place some of the NPCs. I once made a cool bouncer, and I thought it would have been fun to place her in one of the clubs.
    The ability for players to create mods, and that EA might even want to incorporate into the game.
    A lack of bugginess.
    And of course, weather, pets, nightclubs, restaurants, travel, and all those good things.
    Oh yeah! A Mac friendly game, of course.
    How’s that for a tall order? I’m hoping they will surprise us and come out with a full, rich game in the tradition of Sims 1 and Sims 3. (I never was in possession of the hardware required to play Sims 2, so I only know a little about it.)
    I want to see the custom-color wheel back as well as the ability to customize /apply patterns to everyday items. (I swear, nothing quite so fun as a flame-print toilet in that regard ).
    Also something I haven't seen yet, amidst the great CAS controls is the ability to change your sims' heights. Not everyone IRL is the same uniform height when they reach adult-hood.
    I really want layered clothing on TS5. It would be a step forward in the franchise and allow for greater customisation, since we'd be able to pair jackets with interior and outer clothing. On that note I wish we'd go back to having to buy clothes on stores instead of automatically having everything on the wardrobe.
    More building options, and so much more traits for sims and also it needs so much more acitvites, skills and work options...private schools how it was in sims3 and also having college would be really good....and of course would be nice if babies are not just objects, but we can take them with us to the park or town...
    Sign language would be very cool, along with the representation of some other disabilities. It would be really cool if Sims could both have some representation for people with disabilities as well as model appropriate social interactions. There could even be a story line of learning to communicate through a hearing/deaf language barrier? Could get some actual signers on board to develop a Simlish version of sign language.
    Also currently I don't believe that Sims even get injured in any version (correct me if I'm wrong), but they do get sick. Maybe have crutches animations for a week, that would be cool.
    What I would love to see with Sims 5 is quite a considerable amount of change.
    1. A return back to open world. The technology is there to program transitions between areas being rendered in-game whether its making cars temporarily stop at stop lights following the rules of the road while the next section loads. That kind of loading would help open world transition run smoothly. There are ways to do this without ripping players out of immersion resorting to loading screens. Find an alternative to those annoying loading screens. It’s almost 2020. Have some innovation.
    2. A return of drive able cars. What’s the point of having roads without cars to drive on them.
    3. CaSt I’m tired of mismatched furniture. I want to create my own style to decorate my sims’ homes.
    4. CAS. If there was one thing I liked about TS4 it was the CAS interface. But I also want to see a return of sliders for fine-tuning the facial features for the finite details that you just can’t get with push-pull.
    5. If you’re going to continue with the TS4 style (which I wasn’t enamoured of, I would really appreciate losing the clay “Little People” hair and making it more like the alpha hairs that some modders use.
    6. I’d also prefer much more realistic trees than the “Fisher Price” trees that litter up the landscape in TS4. More higher detailed realistic trees.
    7. More sports; hockey, baseball, basketball, soccer (European football), American football, maybe even rugby.
    8. Maybe even consider other modes of transportation to get from world to world. Buses, airplanes, boats. And work them in as transitional screens in-game where you get a cut scene of sims frantically trying to make a flight or bus connection. Make it fun rather than watching a dam meter rolling around a plumbob.
    9. Right now the Sims emotions are useless. You have a sim die; the sims are sad only for the duration of time that they’re in the room with the urn. They go out of that room and into a room with happy aura objects and they’re happy as clams again not caring that their mother, father,sister or brother may have kicked off their mortal coil. In that regards I think TS3 handled emotions better with their moodlets. After a death Sims would periodically break down in tears and left it up to the viewer to figure out what set them off. (One of my sims broke down while near a portrait of his grandmother and grandfather after their death).
    10. I want to see a dynamic background that the player can interact with like Sims 3; not a painted on backdrop like TS4. With San Myshuno you got a lovely backdrop of a nice city but when you went to do anything or wanted to visit that section. Nope. Can’t do it. At least in Sims 3 you could go anywhere you wanted. My sims have explored nearly everything in Sunset Valley. I want the same functionality in Sims 5.
    11. I would like to see a tool like CAW for the Sims 5. Sims 4, you are unable to develop worlds to play in or make edits to existing worlds. At least in Sims 3 when we got tired of playing in EA created worlds we could download a.user creation and go have an absolute ball in another person’s world or if we were so inclined, we could make our own. That was the flexibility of the Sims 3 that us die-hards loved. We want that ability to create our own worlds back.
    12. We also want the ability for any of us to make CC not just a select few. I want the ability to create my own CC to use in my games because not many people have the same interests in CC as I do. Is someone who is interested in making clothes going to render an aircraft carrier for me to play with and place in my world? Is someone interested in cars going to want to render an F-14D Tomcat? No because they wouldn’t be interested in that sort of thing. And I’d prefer to do it myself because I have a certain standard of detail that I want my military CC to reach and its not fair to others who have no interest in the type of subjects that I want to render for my game to force them to design something that isn’t interesting to them just because I want it in my game.
    13. You (EA) state that the Sims motto is “Play With Life”. But what you’ve been giving us is “Play With Life (The Way We Want You To).
    I’m hoping that with Sims 5 this game can go back to being the great sandbox dollhouse game that it used to be.
    Idea: In CAS/Buy/Build list of items, show the name of the item when you hover the cursor over it. Then it would be much easier to identify the file in the folder if it's CC you want to delete it or just need the name of.
    The development of the game world, taking into account the time that has passed in the game. Starting with newspapers, old architecture and cars, ending with modern technologies and environmental issues. Old buildings must age and collapse, public spaces change according to time.
    Also more creativity with dynasties, the design of the family coat of arms,
    selection of business, books, portraits and statues of game characters. 💌
    Sims4 has made a lot of improvements since it first came out. I'm still hoping for a filename onMouseover and many of the suggestions made here.
    I love the idea of being able to create custom neighborhoods more easily. I love the suggestion someone made of having the transitions to loading areas work by having a vehicle stop. For Sims who are walking there could be some sort of obstruction they have to wait for-- like a train crossing some tracks.
    I'd love to have different neighborhoods with different levels of technology & style. Like have a very futuristic neighborhood with hovering buildings, flying cars, etc (sort of like The Jetsons or I think Coruscant in the prequels of the Star Wars trilogy). Alien worlds would be cool to make as well with customizable aliens with different traits/appearances. I'd also like some almost prehistoric worlds where the Sims don't have any tech, catch fish with nets & spears, dig up clams/oysters, grow kelp, & do simple farming & live in yurts or simple huts or even caves. Then of course I'd like some medieval period stuff. I enjoyed the Sims Medieval game so it would be nice to have the decor, outfits, etc from that.
    I'm not really happy with the whole push/pull thing. I preferred the sliders but it would be nice if we could select if we want simple push/pull or go into detail edit using sliders (and the sliders would have numeric values so we could write down what settings we liked). Creating presets would be cool.
    I just got Eco Life & Island Living so I'm about to play with some of the new features there & see if there are things I would want to be continued in Sims5.
    I would kind of like for walls to be thicker than they are to be more like realistic walls that could have ductwork, plumbing, and wiring inside. Broken or unfinished walls could expose the stuff behind. (I'm a bit obsessed with plumbing in particular & how the DWV system works).
    I don't foresee 5 being made for awhile since 4 is still going strong & has vastly improved. I remember being incredibly disappointed the first time I opened it & started to play the base game. I'm much happier with it now.
