Yes, the 32-bit version of the operating system is being phased out on new builds. Not the ability to run 32-bit applications. And not support for those who already (still) have 32-bit Windows systems. I haven't seen many new systems shipping with Win 10 32-bit lately anyway, it's just not common unless the device is meant to be severely limited in other ways.

I mean, eventually yes we won't be able to run 32-bit apps on modern Windows systems either. But that day is a very long time away and we really have to consider such an event when it does take place would be way beyond the usable lifespan of any computers we purchase or are using today.

That isn’t them phasing our support for 32 bit software >.>
It’s them dropping support for 32 bit systems. (Processor based I believe)

@igazor So when this magical thing happens... do we need to 'unintstall' all our content and game etc. before updating OS so that it won't go "This copy has already been registered" when we try to redownload?

@Beck1590 - On the user added content (saved games, etc.) we were told no, those can be carried forward. User game folders (in Documents) and their contents have always been transferable from one system to another. On the program install, maybe but since the current 32-bit version won't run on Catalina at all I don't see what difference it makes as to it's still being there other than taking up space. Presumably there will be a convenient way to just remove it if there isn't one already.

But no one really knows for sure, sometimes these things take on a different form than originally envisioned by the team developing them and EA is choosing not disclose any details about the project other than it is still being worked on. Even the team working on it may not be sure yet.

Is there still no news on this? This is really frustrating.

On the update for macOS Catalina (and higher)? Yes, an EA staff member stops by the thread below on AHQ to update us every month. The most recent update was last week. It is being worked on and is still very much a work in progress.
