Last weekend was a pretty productive one for me - I filmed 6 videos (!!) and one of them was a build, which I completed in a day. That's unheard of for me!

Anyway, I'm rambling and also behind because I have TWO new videos to share with you beauts!

My girl, Frankie, decided to go on an adventure!

Love that split! I seriously laughed way too out loud at the "Spring threw up" comment!

The flower-top toilet is the one I put in all my Victorian builds, it reminds me of this fantastic miniature doll house furniture my aunt had when I was little.

BOOKS!! OMG Yes!! I read the most amazing trilogy lately, the Broken Earth Series! The first book took me a little bit of time to get into only because the world was so different it took me some time to kind of feel my way into it, but after I did I fell so absolutely in love with it!

There must be something in that quarantine-fresh air, I've also been revisiting some very old builds of mine.

Okay, now to watch the first video because yay for doing things backwards!

It was just a bad choice of wall paper - maybe would have been ok if it was a feature wall, but EVERYWHERE...my eyes! Haha!

I don't think I've ever used that toilet before, but it worked really well with the build

Yaaay for more book recommendations - I'll definitely have to check it out. I don't mind a slow burner as long as I can get engrossed later on down the line!

It's nice to have a look back and see what maybe you could do differently or improve on

Edit: Derp, forgot to quote you @creativemetaphor

You should do Plum Place at some point, not necessarily because it need it quite as badly as some of the other make-overs, but purely because of it's name! LOL

WHOA! A build before a video - who am I? It's been awhile since I've done a Build-n-Share Challenge, but the fact that it was a tiny build with a healthy budget really spoke to me. The full brief can be found here. The mini brief is below:

    Requirements:
    - budget is §30,000, which does not include the cost of the lot [I squeaked in at §30,598 - lot was §600].
    - use a 20x15 lot.
    - the house itself should be no bigger than half of the lot, placed at one end of the lot. You can build up and down in the same footprint.
    - outside needs a fire pit and landscaping.
    - have spaces for a kitchen, a bedroom, a bathroom, a study, and a place to play video games.

This tiny home was to built for a Sim, Guy Orange, headed going to uni, but not living on campus. I went with the idea that this was an old industrial looking arcade turned into a space for a university student that likes to game. Inside there is a lot of cheap, mismatched furniture with pops of orange throughout - perfect for a student. The bulk of the budget was spent on the ultimate gaming room in the basement which features a flat screen TV, gaming console and arcade machine. The kicker of the whole challenge was that the WHOLE house couldn't be bigger than half the lot (10x15). I think I managed pretty darn well with the total inside living space measuring at 5x9 and the rest being for outdoor hanging out areas or activities!

Without further ado: The Arcadian <---- this will take you to the download link!

And that m'dears is The Arcadian, perfect for a single Sim who likes dark colors with pops of brightness and doesn't mind sitting in a basement playing video games for hours on end! I filmed this (obvs!), so I'll be back with a video at some point!

I didn't realise this, but it's been almost exactly TWO years to the day that I shared my last What the Plum! episode. It was for my YouTube channel anniversary and I really wanted to revisit my old builds that I first shared to the Exchange.

Well I'm back with another one and let me tell you, I think the original build is worse than the Bohemian Beach Bungalow that I turned into The Driftwood. This time, I decided to tackle Quaint Cottage which I uploaded on 7th July 2012. I'm even more apologetic to the 447 people that downloaded this because from the outside it looks alright, but the design choices inside were HORRIFIC. Saying that, if anyone would like to renovate Quaint Cottage and put their own spin on it, I'd LOVE to see it! <3

Let's go on a little tour of Quaint Cottage before moving on to what I turned it into. Brace yourselves, all I can say is HOLY WICKER! :#

Thankfully from the front of Quaint Cottage, there weren't many problems of this house weren't apparent:

    49922258663_c6611503f2_z.jpg

It was only when you looked from the back that you might notice some issues. I didn't get a picture of it, but when I say, it was HORRIBLE, trust me. You see, I thought I'd be clever and try to split level without the use of foundation and it completely warped the walls and the placement of windows. Nothing was even, especially the terrain! I seriously have no idea what the plum I was thinking!

Let's have a nosey at the overview:

    49922716096_3290d36df4_z.jpg

Not too shabby right? Well upon closer inspection, it gets worse!

Upon entering, we have WICKER everywhere! And when I say EVERYWHERE, I mean from the flooring down to the feet on the armchair and sofa!
    49922716031_714cd01825_z.jpg

Eight years ago, I somehow got it in my head that wicker floors were the in thing!
    49923019112_24a84e32d3_z.jpg

Then I thought, let's take it step further and create a fire hazard with the kitchen counters, which is totally fine because peep the fire alarm. The fire department will be there sharpish to put out the inferno this place would cause!
    49923019037_80c51f79b9_z.jpg

And if you didn't have a big enough headache from all the wicker, please just look at this uber calming bedroom...NOT!
    49922715866_1ef6f87bba_z.jpg

I couldn't even bring myself to take a picture of the bathroom, which consisted of a base wood flooring with a tile pattern on it. My old self eight years ago deserves a slap for this, but I promise, I fixed it because this definitely wouldn't do.

BTW I don't think you've been mispronouncing the buckhorn - it is called that in Sims, but I think they got it wrong. If you look at all the other types, like the haunted buckthorn, then they actually call it a buckthorn, and in the trees there's a buckhorn tree, but then again the haunted is called a haunted buckthorn. So Sims is just being Sims I think LOL

On that note, there is a real bush called a buckthorn, I'm not sure if there is a buckhorn or not, but whatever - you were saying it right based on what you were actually using :)
