So, I made a sim to add to my current household. I used the add sim thing through Nraas. Except her two pets didn't follow. How can I add the pets without losing them / creating new?
I just decided to use Total Annihilation, remove them from Portraitpanel, and just have her adopt pets. So much easier. LOL
Feel free to tell me what I should've done before though... just in case it ever happens again.
You can't use CAS to add sims to an existing household. You would have to place them in a household of their own first and then combine/merge them with the original household through Edit Town or by using MasterController's Add Sim once they are already in town someplace. Is this what you tried to do?
Not sure what you meant by the pets didn't follow. They may have still been physically standing on the residential lot where they were placed, but they should have been controllable if you added them to your own active household. In the case of pets only, a placeholder sim to act as temporary head of household would also have to be created for placement purposes.
PortraitPanel doesn't add sims to households, it only adds them to the panel.
I have added pets to my active household from CAS in Edit Town, and to other existing households, after saving them as a household without a human sim. They can't be placed on a vacant lot though, they have to be placed in an existing household. I've also added human sims directly to my active household from CAS, after saving them to the library, and to other households. If the game doesn't allow it, it must be one of the mods I use that makes it possible, most likely NRaas Master Controller.
@IreneSwift - That isn't what I meant. What I was trying to say is that you cannot add sims, whether they be humans or pets, directly from CAS to an existing in-game, on the map, resident household. They must be placed in a household of their own on the map first or yes, passed through the household bin, to access from Edit Town.
But there also seems to be some mild confusion over what PortraitPanel actually does, so I may have had these dogs barking up the wrong tree in the first place.
I don't know how to do the CAS through edit town thing? But anyway I got miss Josie into the household. Just gonna have to figure out how to get her to adopt a black cat and a Boston Terrier now. The adopt from shelter choices are terrible.
