New World Themes GAME

On the last survey we had to rank new world themes, and I was wondering were each of them could fit in a future pack. So, let's play a game...

Italian Vineyards
Greek Islands
Scottish Highlands
Chinese Countryside
Spanish City
Swiss Mountain Town
Brazilian Beach Town
Costa Rican Rainforest
South African City
Korean City

Those were the themes for new worlds. IF we were to have 5 new game packs and 5 new expansion packs for the next years, which pack theme would the worlds be related to? Tie each one of them with a possible new pack, like Farming, Fairies, Werewolves, Hobbies, Resorts, Schools, etc... Remember, you have 5 Game Packs and 5 Expansion Packs, and only 10 world themes.

I would LOVE Italian Vineyards...mostly cause I'm Italian and would love to play that story (I think of the movie Call Me By Your Name). Also, Greek isles seem fun too! South African City sounds good too!

OK, I'll give this a try.

Italian Vineyards - Grow grapes and produce white, red, pink and fizzy nectar as well as elixirs with fancy names like Party Animal, Evening Romance, Chat All Night, Queen Bee, Sleeping Beauty and Nature Calls. Grow wheat and olives, make pasta, canned olives, olive oil. Buy a pizza oven and make your own pizza and bread. Became a shoe and perfume designer and create new shoe designs and perfumes. Organize a BIG wedding (or a funeral) and don't forget to invite all your aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents and neighbours, take beautiful photos and create beautiful memories to last a lifetime. Buy a Vespa scooter and travel the countryside.

Greek Islands - Grow oranges and lemons and make lemon juice and lemonade. Find marble stones and carve beautiful statues and furniture for your house. Study astronomy. Learn to build a boat and row down the river Styx until you reach the entrance to the Underworld. You may need to bribe the gatekeeper. Find Grimmy or whoever you're looking for.

Scottish Highlands - You have reached a realm of history and magic filled with medieval castles and farms. You can raise farm animals like chickens, sheep, pigs and horses. You can collect wool from the sheep and use it to make beautiful tartans. You can collect milk from the sheep and make cheese. You can now become an blacksmith and create horse shoes and swords. Creative sims can use the pottery wheel to create a lovely tea set to serve afternoon tea in and different flower vases and pots to display flowers in. Life may sound a bit boring and quiet, but every year there is the medieval festival where you can take part in medieval traditions like sword duels, archery contests, pie eating contests, highland dances. Create a family tree and document important events in your family ancestry.

Chinese Countryside - Life is quiet in the countryside. You wake up early when the rooster first starts singing, then either go to work in the city or do chores around the house. You are particularly busy as you have started taking care of silk worms and they demand a lot of mulberry leaves to feed on. You like the worms because they give you silk you use to weave beautiful carpets, drapes and clothes. You can grow fruits like watermelon, kaki, lychee, and jackfruit, and sometimes you find ginseng roots which you use to make medicine and tea. When you are bored, you like to paint on silk, and if you have any jade or other semi precious stones, you like to carve them into beautiful chess boards and make jewellery. You like to play go with your friends and visit festivals. Your favourite festival is the ice festival where you get to carve and admire ice sculptures. You also love the light festival, for the beautiful lanterns and light displays. On New Year's day you like to get together with your family and friends, share gifts of oranges and money and read your horoscopes for the year ahead. If anyone would like to visit your neighbourhood, there are tourist attractions nearby like the Great Wall and the Old Palace with the beautiful gardens full of magnolia trees. You can eat at the local restaurants, have jasmine tea at the tea house, or eat street food. Tourists can buy souvenirs like T-shirts, fortune cookies, and various counterfeit merchandise.

Spanish City - Visit this vibrant city with beautiful architecture, cafes, restaurants plazas and shopping malls. Learn how to build spiral stairs, stages, garages, gorgeous arches and vaulted ceilings. Learn to play flamenco guitar and dance tango. Don't drink too much sangria. Shop till you drop, but make sure to pay back your credit cards or the repo man might visit you.

Swiss Mountain Town - Learn to ski and snowboard during the winter, take the chair lift and eat at the restaurant located at the top of the mountain. Learn grandma's chocolate recipe and create bonbons and tablets of chocolate that you can gift or sell in your very own souvenir store. If you are a handy you can learn the art of making wooden toys or even the ancient craft of watchmaking and create beautiful time pieces for the wrists, the fire mantle and even cuckoo clocks. No more going late to work or class. In autumn you can visit the Harvest festival for some fluffy brew and bagels and accordion singing, and in the winter you can visit the Winter festival where you can buy tasty treats and gifts for your family and friends.

Brazilian Beach Town - Enroll in the Samba school and participate in the Samba festival taking part every year. Do aerobics and capoeira and make sure you keep your body fit. Get a job as a swimsuit model, take part in photo shoots and model swimsuits in fashion shows. In your spare time you can play volleyball at the beach, or visit the beauty shops to have a manicure, pedicure, hairdo and facials to prepare for your next photo shoot. Alternatively, you can become a fashion journalist/photographer and write articles for fashion magazines.

Costa Rican Rainforest - Luxuriant jungles teeming with wildlife, golden beaches and clear waters await you. Rent a room at the hotel or a B&B, or even better run a hotel. Relax in a hammock on the beach, go for a round of mini golf, or visit the rainforest. Feed and raise parakeets, toucans and flamingoes. One day you find a strange egg in the jungle, one that you have never seen before. You take it home with you and hatch it in your hatchery equipment only to discover a baby DRAGON. You are intrigued and after further search in the jungle, you discover a hidden area teeming with dragons. You can't wait to share your discovery with the world.

South African City - Become a jeweler and create beautiful rings, earrings, bracelets and necklaces. However, the burglar makes a come back and you need to buy an alarm and survey equipment for your shop. For fun you can go on safaris and take pictures of wild animals. If wild animals don't take your fancy, you can visit Sun City Casino for some gambling, pocker, blackjak, roulette, slot machines. Try not to cheat at roulette, or you may spend some time in prison. You can become a tattoo artist and open your very own tattoo shop for temporary and permanent tattoos.

Korean City - Find fame as a singer, alone or in a group. Appear on TV and SimTube, engage with the fans, sell branded T-shirts and CDs with your music on. Find a good surgeon and get some aesthetic surgery like bigger nose and thinner lips, pointy ears and even a sex change. hairy sims can now opt for laser hair removal, or die their hair in funky colours. Buy comic magazine and collect even more my sims trophies action figures.

ALTERNATIVELY - You live in a city where everything is rationed, food, electricity, water, TV/radio programmes, the internet etc. You can only get certain haircuts. You need to worship dear leader and have a festival in his honour every year where you sing patriotic songs, alone or in a group. You will recognize him when you see him because his pictures will adorn all buildings. You can no longer shop from the fridge, now you need to grow your own food or catch your own fish if you want to eat. You can go to the supermarket to buy some basic ingredients but there are not that many, so now you need to learn how to cook only for the amount of sims in the house. Due to the food shortages, sims have learnt to enjoy family meals together and come and eat together when they are called. If you are a daredevil, you can deface pictures of dear leader. You can now get a job as a nuclear scientist.

If Chinese Countryside was paired and released as Mystical EP I would give EA all my money for it! only because Im so addicted to their folklore and celestial creatures/beings. Also lets not forget Avatar's landscape was inspired by a real place in China. I would LOVE those floating mountains in my game as well!! So much opportunity for fantasy!

This is fun! I want to pitch some idea too! :D

    1. Harvest Time - Start your new life as a Farmer at the Italian Vineyards by growing your own crops and raising your own farm animals! 2. Simlantis Adventure - Explore the new underwater world at the Greek Islands and starts salvaging the shipwrecks and begin your new adventure as an Explorer to undercover the mystery of the fallen Simlantis. Be prepared and increased your diving skill to venture into the deeper water for an adventure or misadventure to discover the new species of fish, plants, treasures or perhaps a Kraken?

    3. Land of the Lost - Discover the secret of Emily at one of the famous lakes at the Scottish Highlands. Meet and be friend with Nessie to seek for the secret that allow you to call for Emily who will bring you treasures and new collectibles. Explore the old medieval castle at Fort Ness town to uncover a portal to travel back to the middle ages. Engage with the local and learn how to be the blacksmith or the stonemason. Fight with knights and learn to shoot an arrow and let the king bestowed you with a knighthood.

    4. Far East Adventure - Learn a martial art and be the Kung Fu master at the oldest and famous temple at the Chinese Countryside. Participate in the local competition to earn the title the best Martial Artist. If martial art is not your cup of tea, take a break to learn a tea making ceremony and enjoy the beauty of the countryside either at a peaceful, beautiful village surrounded by a lake or high in the mountain where you can enjoy the sunset and the sunrise.

    5. Romantic Getaway - Need a break? Or do you want to find the love of your life? Visit the beautiful, romantic, and the vibrant Spanish City either by walking or travel via a scooter. Explore the nightlife, enjoy the food, learn a new dance and new cultures. Buy yourself a second home and start managing your properties. Do remember to pay the bills before the bank took away your properties.

    6. Alps Winter Adventure - Visit the lovely Swiss Mountain Town surrounded by the mountains and warm resorts. Learn the mountaineering skills like the alpine climbing or via ferrata. Bring your ski set, snowboard or sledge to impress your family and friends, but do remember not to knock down the trees while going down. 7. Get Surfing! - The weather is nice and warm, the wave is big and high, and the beach is calling! It's surfing time! Bring your surfing gear and start surfing when the time is right. Get in control and increase your surfing skill to be eligible to enter the yearly Surfing competition. If surfing is not your calling, buy a hotel at the Brazilian Beach Town and start managing the hotel by increasing the rating in order to expand and be renowned as the best Hotelier.

    8. Larry Jones Locker - Ahoy, Matey! Explore the mysterious Costa Rican Rainforest to find the Pirate hideaway. Join the crew and explore the sea with a magnificent Black Pearl and meet the infamous captain, Captain Jack Sparrow. Join him as a crew to find the fountain of youth or take over the wheel and be the next legendary Captain and venture out to the sea and hoping from one island to another to collect the treasures.

    9. Safari Life - Get in the jeep and start your Safari adventure from the South African City to the desert. Meet and be friends with the local tribes and learn about their cultures, food, and participate in their local traditions. Heads out to help the Rangers or be a Ranger to track down the illegal huntings to bring the lion, rhino, elephants back to the watering hole and revive the beauty of the nature.

    10. Get Global - Do you want to be the next Pop Star or the world best Musician? Start your journey as a trainee and attend gigs to earn points to make a debut. Live the life of a Superstar and organise concerts all around the world. Maintain your fame and reputation to earn and increase your perks to earn the global popularity before the next Pop Start debuting. If being famous is not your game, start your own cosmetic or electronic businesses by managing your supply chains in the Korean City. Engage with the research and development team and start creating and developing your products. Don't forget to get the patent licenses before someone else stole your idea.

I do have fun sharing the idea. Nevertheless, I do wish that we could have a Japanese world too! :D

Honestly, I just wish they'd make up some worlds themselves. I never liked the reliance on real people, places and trends that the Sims 4 has adopted. I want to see more fantastical worlds or fictional locations like the magic realm. A goblin bog or fairy tree houses and explorable caves. I'd like strange, crooked trees and weird insect life. Structures inspired by Tim Burton or Dr. Seuss or Bloom County/Outland. Things like that.

I just always felt like the Sims were their own universe and they just had parallels to ours. If they were more unique to themselves, I think the game wouldn't have cornered itself to be so pc and cautious and "safe" and worried about socially offending all the time. It wouldn't have to be so self-conscious because the rules of the Simverse belongs to the Sims and there could be an "anything goes" flow to it. It would still mimic our own lives (like Sims 2 did so well) and the humor would still be there, but sensitive people wouldn't find it so familiar as to take anything personally.

We could even have a larger variety of skin, hair and eye colors that way. Children could be born with blue hair because it wouldn't be assumed it's "dyed" when they get older. There could be optional odd eye textures that are more luminescent or multicolored. Just little extra options to make the Sims seem more special and otherworldly and a little bit "beyond" our universe.

But I'm getting carried away now.

I couldn't think of ideas for every world, but I have some:

    1. Greek Islands- Jet Set expansion pack- join the crème de la crème by buying and investing in various properties. Comes with features like: owning and running hotels, resorts, villas, and a possibility to buy additional homes for your sims. Invest in gyms, museums and other public properties and collect weekly earnings. New feature- paying weekly taxes. New life state: genie- you get three wishes, but careful what you wish for!

    2. Italian Vineyard- Gourmet Farm game pack- comes with an overhaul of the already-in-game grapes (introducing new cultivars). Find new grape cultivars and graft them together. Buy a vineyard (new lot type) and start a grape juice (wine) business: employ workers and sommeliers and work together to promote and sell your products. Olives and olive trees also come in this pack. Grow olives and produce olive oil. The higher your gardening skill, the higher will be the quality of your olive oil.

    3. Spanish City- Dream Romance- expansion pack- complete overhaul of the attraction system- added zodiac signs, digital dating and more specific types of relationships. Sims now have more romantic interactions like: slow dancing, cuddling, neck kisses...Comes with new wedding decorations and many new flowers to grow.

    4. Scotish Higlands- Enchanted Forest game pack- Deep in the woods, in the ruins of medieval castles, the small and peaceful community of fairies found their home. Become a fairy and master the powers that Mother Nature gave you.
Fairy powers: special relationship with plants, they easily find even the rarest items in any collection, can influence other sims through new romantic and friendly interactions. Their handiness skill grows faster. They age slower, but their social and fun needs decay faster. They're sensitive so the sad moodlets always last longer.
Rookie fairies have to earn their wings (butterfly shaped), while powerful fairies teleport with pixie dust.
New collection: new butterfly species and mushrooms (fairies find them more easily). Some mushrooms can be sold at a very high price, while others have interesting effects.

    5. Swiss Mountain Town- Classical Art- expansion pack- new lot type-theater, new careers: theater performer: after level 3 you pick one of the 3 branches: ballet dancer, opera singer, puppeteer
2nd career: member of the orchestra, branches: principal and conductor
New skills: opera singing and ventriloquism. New gameplay object: dollmaker: a working station for making your own puppets and dolls.
Evil sims can make haunted dolls. and give them to others, or place them on someone else's property. As long as the doll is on the property or inventory, the household members will have tense moodlet.
    New instruments: trumpet and harp.

@LiELF I couldn't agree more, especially about including more unusual genetics, and a sims world inspired by Tim Burton or Dr Seuss would be amazing! 😃

Honestly? My favorite world (besides Windenburg due to its size) is San Myshuno, cuz its not realistic. Its a mix of Japan, Middle East and west USA. And the name?! Its such a pearl... I have even come up with some names...

YORKOHAMA / YOKOYORK (York + Yokohama)
CHIGOYA / NACAGO (Chicago + Nagoya)
PARANTA / ATLARIS (Paris + Atlanta)
PHILADORF / DÜSSELDELPHIA (Philadelphia + Düsseldorf)
KOBOSTON / BOSTOBE (Kobe + Boston)

But... anyway... I think it would be tricky to implement haha they would have to research everywhere to find if its not an offensive word in some languages. maybe would be more interesting to use simlish like San Myshuno, Girbittown, etc

There already is all the basic real-world parallels in the game. Some more unique stuff would be a cool for new worlds. I'd totally go for a Dr. Suess world, or Wizard of Oz type world, I read most of the books as a kid lots of potential there! "The Wizrd of Oz" is actually a small part of the world and story.

@Admiral8Q emerald city would be Plumbobington haha A city with green skyscrapers, where the tallest skyscrapers has a plumbob shaped roof structure.

Also, I used to love the idea of the Sunrise Crater in Sims Online... Look at it:
    citynew.jpg

There's so much lore-world hsitory they could come up with those things. Like... In my had, in the SIms world, dinosaurs existed alongside sims, jsut like the Flintstones. Would be funny to see a into the past pack with caveman metropolis type of thing.

@Karon That reminds me of the landscape/terrain I made for cities in "Sim City 4"! I still have some of it on my old laptop, I should take some screenshots if I ever think of it.

On a side note about Sim City 4, I did specialize each city in the metropolis. I even had a "Smogopolous" filled with dirty industrial and coal power plants with mayor Cyril Sneer, and a "Trashopolous" that was basically all landfill with mayor Oscar T. Grouch. :D

    EDIT:
    Mayor Cyril Sneer. :p:D

I LOVE a lot of these ideas.

    This is hard lol.

Some worlds I just want to see, but I did not have some specific theme for them I guess. And there's themes I'd like for packs that don't necessarily fit with any of these worlds (and, well, some packs don't really need new worlds).

I gave it a try, though, but doing it the other way around (some I have thought of more than other, so I just tried making them fit in a world):

    Romance EP: Greek Islands
    • more relationship types and unrequited love
    • preferences and chemistry
    • ability to fake being in love
    • slowdancing
    • cuddling in bed
    • bicker about...
    • kids reacting to walking in on their parents during woohoo or a fight
    • npcs reacting to public proposals
    • an option for sims to stop a wedding during the ceremony
    • best man speeches that could either be well received or embarrassing depending on traits
    • meet the parents (nothing fancy, like hang out or welcome wagon)
    • breakfast in bed
    • chocolate-covered strawberries
    • bachelor/ette parties
    • honeymoons
    • anniversaries (with a surprise free dessert maybe depending on pda level?)
    • share dessert
    • double dates
    • a dating app
    • a specific area of the world where the interaction to watch sunset appears in the afternoon
    • maybe a world-specific option to take a stroll holding hands

    Music GP: Korean City
    • concert venues
    • drum sets
    • electric guitars
    • bass guitars
    • ability to form bands and rehearse
    • ability to play gigs at bars
    • vocal harmonies
    • choreographies (group and solo)
    • world tours
    • shooting music videos
    • ability to form an entourage (so you can travel with your manager and assistant or something)
    • playable album launch parties

    Resorts EP: Brazilian Beach Town
    • run a hotel
    • check into a hotel
    • have a second property and rent it for the holidays as an extra income (with possible negative consequences)
    • get 🐸🐸🐸🐸 off at tourists
    • have demanding guests make a scene
    • celebrities with bad reputations can trash hotel rooms

    Medieval GP: Scottish Highlands
    • dragons
    • royalty
    • piracy
    • swordfighting skill
    • archery skill
    • blacksmithing skill
    • having to empty the pot chamber
    • a working well

    Happy Haunts GP: Spanish City
    • that ghost hunter career they mentioned
    • a ouija board

Outdoor Activities GP: Swiss Mountain Town / South African City

    either
    • surf
    • paragliding
    • kayaking
    • spotting sharks in the water
    • mountain biking
    • atvs
    or
    • hot springs
    • snowboarding
    • snowmobiles
    • sledding
    • igloos
    both
    • a peak they can hike to where the option to take celebratory selfie at the top appears (maybe they can teleport via cable car there too)
    • go pro cameras
    • ferris wheel
    • a new aspiration
    • adrenaline junkie trait
    • actual wildlife encounters (not sims in bear costumes, although that's funny)
    • new deaths

Farming EP: Chinese Countryside / Italian Vineyards
    • I only know the very basics of this

    Not-Sure-Of-The-Theme GP: Spanish City
    • everything they said about heists!!!
    • a hand-to-hand combat skill to build on the sparring from the military career
    • a help others / do good in the world aspiration (that can work with several existing careers like doctor, politician, environmentalist, etc, and benefit from charity and volunteering)

I'm not sure what to use the rainforest for, but I sure would love some tree houses. Maybe more occults like werewolves, fairies and elves?

And there's other GPs I'd like that would either need a world not listed (like something in outer space where they can leverage that partnership and like give us light saber fights; or an underwater world) or no world at all, really. There's just a lot of features they mentioned that I'd like to have all together in one EP focused on family play:
    • active schools (IF they were to add cheerleading, I'd prefer it to be in this context)
    • family outings/gatherings
    • strollers
    • funerals
    • that healthy living aspiration (complete with the fitness watch)
    • pool parties
    • slumber parties
    • that portable telescope they mentioned
    • shopping malls
    • ballet

And some features should just be patched in, like prosthetics, spiral staircases, the ability to check the weather, c o n s e q u e n c e s, multitasking for lounge chairs so sims can talk and have a drink, etc.

On the last survey we had to rank new world themes, and I was wondering were each of them could fit in a future pack. So, let's play a game...

    Italian Vineyards
    Greek Islands
    Scottish Highlands
    Chinese Countryside
    Spanish City
    Swiss Mountain Town
    Brazilian Beach Town
    Costa Rican Rainforest
    South African City
    Korean City

Those were the themes for new worlds. IF we were to have 5 new game packs and 5 new expansion packs for the next years, which pack theme would the worlds be related to? Tie each one of them with a possible new pack, like Farming, Fairies, Werewolves, Hobbies, Resorts, Schools, etc... Remember, you have 5 Game Packs and 5 Expansion Packs, and only 10 world themes.
