Hi, I have a beginners question. I've been playing sims 4 for couple years but just started my first legacy. My founder sim just got married and it turned out that her new husband was a university student. He soon graduated and got a good career start with a bonus (1900 simelions) and big salary (240 simelions/hour). My question is: did I made a mistake in choosing the husband for my sim? I started with 64x64 lot and with no money and I feel like I´m cheting now with these unexpectedly grown incomes :D . I don´t want to make any big mistakes now :)

Sounds like you picked a great mate personally. Enjoy! And welcome to the legacy challenge.
@Hunskeli
Per announcements on the official site rules are in the process of being updated for the newest packs. Though there was an update to heir laws to accommodate ROM there have been no additional rulings involving Discover University.
At this point I do not see that you made any mistake. If you feel the bonus income from the higher level job is not in the spirit of the challenge you can always cheat to remove extra funds. Or make regular donations on the computer. If you have Seasons you can randomly gift Simoleons to Sims outside your household.
In any case it is still early on and I would just move forward and continue to play.
Original rules:
Spouses may not bring in any money with them when they move in/marry into the family.
Hi!! I was wondering what are the best allowed mods for legacy challenge?
It looks like the website is unavailable right now. Last time I looked at the rules there were no mods that were officially approved to use when playing the challenge.
Pick out their gender, wardrobe, body shape and color, and even incorporate any CAS custom content or mods. The ONLY two rules are that they must be of the ‘young adult’ age, and they must be the only person in the household.
No cheats/hacks/mods that give you an advantage over someone who did not use them. I leave this rule deliberately open-ended because of the sheer variety of cheats/mods and hacks out there that have been, and will be made. The rule of thumb is that using a specific cheat/hack/mod will not put your family in any better of a position compared to someone who did not use one. For example, money cheats like motherlode and kaching would be against this rule because someone who did not use them would have less money than someone who did. Where as a mod that, for example, created a brand new yellow shirt in CAS that your Sims could use, would be fine because having a pretty yellow shirt would not cause your family to gain any more points than someone who stuck with the stock clothing options.
I have a question about the household worth threshold (scoring). The thing is, my sims have a house worth about 333K Simoleons. They now have a greenhouse with 40 dragnfruit plants and those bring about 30K Simoleons each day. The money my sims have now is sky rocketing ^^ But it doesn't change the house worth threshold.
Question: Does the family's money count additionally to the house worth threshold or can I only use the house worth threshold for the fortune scoring?
Any plan on updating for university. University is a big game play change and would love to see it in the challenge, and possibly earn some points for having sims attend university.
@EuphorialQueen I already use this site as a reference but the Fortune part confuses me
While the founder starts off on an empty grass lot with pocket change to their name, a Legacy Family is expected to grow in wealth as more and more Sims succeed in life and bring in riches for the family to share and pass along to future generations. With the addition of The Sims 4 Get to Work funds from a business owned by the Legacy family now counts towards the family net worth. Funds from Veterinary Clinics in The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs will also count towards family net worth.
Points are earned by meeting the specific household worth thresholds as follows:
$75,000 = 1 point
$120,000 = 2 points
$200,000 = 3 points
$320,000 = 4 points
$510,000 = 5 points
$830,000 = 6 points
$1,300,000 = 7 points
$2,100,000 = 8 points
$3,500,000 = 9 points
$5,700,000 = 10 points (this MAY be replaced with having ALL Business Perks if your family owns a business)
It doesn't say anything about the money here. Or am I blind? Or does this mean the money doesn't count?
Sorry if my question is dumb I'm really confused ^^
Also, if you think that keeping track of all the points and people and traits in the challenge are daunting (me!), the link on pinstarr's legacy challenge website that I think is best is Hilliee's Scoresheet. It's on Excel, and the way they've set it up is amazing. It's count all of the points for you, and show you how far along you far and what you still need to do. It also includes a Randomizer for traits and for heirs if you choose the Random Succession Law.
The only picky thing is you have to save it as a separate document (just rename it and put it on your desktop) to make sure all your changes are saved. Hope this is helpful to people's Legacy Challenges. :)
@EuphorialQueen Thank you I'm only playing generation 5 so there's plenty of time for me to figure this out ^^ I've noticed tho that the house worth threshold went up a bit (like 5K Simoleons) as my sims started to earn a lot of money, like 30K Simoleons and more each day. I have a greenhouse full of drangonfruits now I call it my goldmine

I'm wondering about how to incorporate University into my gameplay too. I just started a Legacy family and have two children of my founder about to age up to YA. I'd like them to go to University but my founder still has work to do on her career and aspirations! I've no idea how to achieve both - any tips??
Yes I did see the rules around having to send your heir to university along with any other children who go. My question was more around gameplay than rules I think (maybe this isn't the right thread?). I have the MCCC for story progression outside of my legacy sims, so I'm not sure if/how I could play both my original founder and my heir at university at the same time without missing a bunch of time for each. I wanted to get my founder to the top of the scientist career but it requires active gameplay from what I can gather (I've never had a promotion when I've just sent her to work).
@mildredalien
You could have them attend university from home. At least for the sake of keeping the legacy intact. Otherwise the lineage could be broken.
I started my legacy last night. I decided to do the extreme start so I started in winter with no money. But I realised too late that you are meant to have your sims live in a 64 X 64 lot for the extreme start my founder is living in a 50 X 50.
I know you are meant to stay on one lot throughout the challenge but it has only been 4 sim hours. Would it be ok to move him into a 64 X 64 lot now?
I can't completely restart because I did a whole bachelor challenge thing to determine my founder's spouse (before starting the legacy challenge but in the same save) and I'd lose his relationship with his now wife. Plus his wife is pregnant now and I feel like the baby deserves to be born!
I have a question: it says in the rules that for every 4 aspirations completed you get a point. Do those all have to be different aspirations? So e.g. if you have four different sims complete the same aspiration does that count as 4 aspirations completed (so you get a point)? Or does that only count for one aspiration completed (so you don't get a point)?

Still no definitive answer but I vaguely recall the Fortune household worth threshold being lot value plus household funds.
