I rarely get abductions too and usually only when I'm playing Scientist or Astronaut Sim, both of which Don is not, so it was very surprising he got abducted at all. I guess they significantly lowered the chance of Sims coming back with an alien bun in the oven too. Which I can believe because my one and only Sim that ever got preggers, was abducted three times before he did. Plus, I had a Sim that wasn't an astronaut or a scientist, but he had a rocket he flew frequently and had an affair with an alien on Sixam, plus a bunch a space rocks on his lot which I guess ups the chances, and he's been abducted six times and never got preggers.
I can believe that. I've watched many travel shows about Rome and Italy and in every single one, all the areas were loaded with people. It was startling to see all those areas so empty. Even more startling to see how many times the guy filming was stopped by officials to show 'papers.' o.O
It's the same way here. I've lived in the country all my life surrounded by nature, very peaceful, except a few years when Hubby and I lived together before we got married. But even then it was a little house we rented on the outskirts of our very small town. Everyone is the same here too, we all seem to know each other and in the country, everyone waves as we pass by in vehicles. It's a very friendly small town. I couldn't imagine ever living in a big metro area with all the concrete and hardly any trees, not knowing or caring who your neighbors are, all the noise, etc. My soul would suffer.

Yet another reason I keep wondering why I don't just break down and put MCCC in my game. There's SO many things it can do to improve the game. I usually just go in household management and delete townies before every play session. But it gets tiring sometimes. Especially if my Sims have visited San Myshuno, a park, the jungle or any venue really. The game generates a TON of townies when they do. It's ridiculous.
Always the same in mine too. The mermaids, especially Nalani are usually there too.
Well, there's a TON of drama and sadness in that movie though and the ending is very well deserved really. I spoiled the ending, but if you were watching it for the first time, it would a *gasp* OMG type of thing and make you cry. lol But then, I'm a hopeless romantic and you really don't care about such things, so maybe not. I love Pretty Woman and Runaway Bride too, both of which he's in with Julia Roberts.
I wasn't suggesting you use anything other than a rose, it's expected and iconic to this type of challenge. Anything else would be just...weird or wrong? I don't know, might be fun to try something more unique too. However, most everything else when a gift is given, you don't actually see it like with flowers. It's just a gift box they open. I have awhile to think about what I'll do though, so we'll see. I'll probably just do the rose ceremony as intended.

You know, reading this challenge is my way to give myself a reward for studying, so I'm happy that there's a chapter everyday and that you decided to not have a weekend break (because I also study in the weekends now, hhahaaha).

It depends I think. When you have a "connection" to outer space, like scientists and astronauts have or also when there's an alien friend or you have on in your household, they get abducted more often but usually come back not preggers. At least that's how I feel it is. But if you have no "connection" to Sixam then the chances of having a male sim come back with a bun in the even is still high. At least I hope so
In Italy they have a complete lockdown so you need the papers to go out. Here in Germany it's different That's why I refer to it as curfew. We don't need papers to go grocery shopping or when we go out for a walk.
Yesterday in a corona update on tv our health minister said that we have 40% of our ICU beds left. That's more beds than France and Italy have in general. When I heard that I was shocked. I thought Europe - or more like Italy and France - were on a similar level as Germany in such terms. Guess I was wrong. But I'm happy we have this many ICU beds. Germany even takes in sick people from other countries now to help.
The most shocking thing I had in this matter was when I came back from grocery shopping in the big city and met my next door neighbour at the door. I greeted him and he stared at me like I felt offended, to be honest

There's a slight difference in Britsh English and American English. Or there are some big differences, too. In uni I focused on AE but in school we teach BE as it's the original English. I need to get used to BE again so I try to use that version more often now. We shouldn't mix it but I need to work on it I can't remember what word I used in the chapter but an example for the U thing would be "flavor" for AE, and "flavoUr" for BE That's why I mentioned the U thing ^^ There are other differences like "chips" and "crisps" where the word is different, defense and defence where one letter is different, and there's also a difference in pronounciation, grammar use etc Need to go back to BE...

Yep, it's still random at times, but there's a higher chance with the connection to aliens or Sixam. However, the chances of either type coming back preggers was nerfed a while ago, unfortunately. It's very low.

I've heard that too, especially if you don't read up on how it all works. For example, story progression. I DO NOT want that in my game. I know a lot of Simmers love it, but I don't. And yes, DU is the worst offender when it comes to generating townies. It's overwhelming.

The 'give rose' interaction is only located in the romance convo choices though. It's a long stemmed one too, so different. That almost always goes over well if they have even a little in their Romance bar. I'd be cautious though because it'll make their romance bar go up. I don't think gifting the rose does that, does it?

It's a common bug that objects disappear but sims still use it. The most common one is the homework I was honestly a bit disappointed when the patch notes didn't mention a single one of the bugs I have... -.- Actually, I've never seen one of the bugs I have be fixed with patches...

In Italy they have a complete lockdown so you need the papers to go out. Here in Germany it's different
Yesterday in a corona update on tv our health minister said that we have 40% of our ICU beds left. That's more beds than France and Italy have in general. When I heard that I was shocked. I thought Europe - or more like Italy and France - were on a similar level as Germany in such terms. Guess I was wrong. But I'm happy we have this many ICU beds. Germany even takes in sick people from other countries now to help.

There's a slight difference in Britsh English and American English. Or there are some big differences, too. In uni I focused on AE but in school we teach BE as it's the original English. I need to get used to BE again so I try to use that version more often now. We shouldn't mix it but I need to work on it

Ah, okay. I guess that makes sense then. We just have a curfew as well. Some areas are locked down though, like Detroit. That's where the majority of cases and deaths have occurred in our state.
Sounds similar to some of the counties in my state. Some hospitals are taking patients from Detroit in their counties because they have beds and Detroit and surrounding metro counties are running out.

I've heard that too, especially if you don't read up on how it all works. For example, story progression. I DO NOT want that in my game. I know a lot of Simmers love it, but I don't. And yes, DU is the worst offender when it comes to generating townies. It's overwhelming.

The 'give rose' interaction is only located in the romance convo choices though. It's a long stemmed one too, so different. That almost always goes over well if they have even a little in their Romance bar. I'd be cautious though because it'll make their romance bar go up. I don't think gifting the rose does that, does it?

In my BOTU, Linda - the founder - was a mermaid and she outlived her own daughter. I think she passed away when her granddaughter was an adult or even elder. And also the premade mermaids like Nalani live way longer than normal sims
