One shoe is 5. Man with ice cream is 13 -- that equals 18. If you multiply one ice cream (2) it's 36.
If you do the multiplication first because order of operations, then 2 times 13 is 26 plus 5 equals 31.
OK, man only has one pair of ice cream ... so 5 x 4 = 9. 9 times 2 equals 18 plus 5 is 23.
Or 5 (shoe) plus 9 (man with one pair of ice cream) equals 14 times 2 (one single ice cream) is 28.l

Scrolled through the answer before I could even attempt solving it
Ok. I’ll pm you again.
I did try 3 tines though.
I totally get you, Twiddle. Totally!
OK.
I don't see how you get 43.
5+9x2 = 5+18 = 23
Ooooo wait. I got it now. Didn't notice the shoes xD
5+19x2 = 38+5 = 43
