How Can You Add a Sim to the Same Dorm, Yet Not Have to Control That Sim?

I know how to go about adding Sims into the very same dorm and they are all controllable — at least the ones I've placed there together from the same household. However, this time I want to add another Sim I created, but having five in my group already, I'm not overly anxious to have to care for the sixth Sim. If that Sim doesn't come from the same household will she automatically be controllable?

I don't know a sure way to do it, maybe someone else will. But, I did do it "on accident" once. I changed my mind about having a second Sim living in the dorm with my main Sim. I separated him from my household and moved him to other households. Instead of just disappearing into townie limbo though, he continued to live in the dorm I was in.

Thank you for responding. I have since made the decision to not include the other Sim. I've taken five at a time once before, but it still takes a bit of organization and orchestration on my part. Not sure I could handle a sixth Sim, you know? I may have Aaron call her to join them upon occasion, as he's smitten at first sight. LOL

If you don't mind cheats, have click on the sim and have them no longer be part of the family. I did that when I moved into a dorm that already had two sims and didn't want to play them. You either need MCCC or use testingcheats on to do so though.

Thanks. I reconsidered what I was pondering. I have only taken five Sims through uni at the same time once. And realized by adding the sixth Sim may be just too much. So, I abandoned the notion.

Just in case someone else wanted this information, however, I'm very glad you shared it.
