If you're not allergic to plantains, the green ones made into tostones (basically, peel, slice into coins, fry on one side, flip, smash 'em flattish, continue frying til golden and serve salted) are a fabulous alternative to potato fries. They're great with ketchup unless you can't have that either (which can happen; potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, and eggplant are all nightshades and when you're allergic to one, you can easily be allergic to them all..that happens in my family)
But srsly if you haven't tried it, it's superb. and you can find them as chips, in a lot of places and they are great as a potato chip alternative.

What's a cheese bagel? A bagel with cheese on it? A bagel with cheese baked into it? I'd rather have a classic bagel with cheese on it. Preferably cream cheese, but bread and cheese of any kind, yum.
