Pretty sure that Paradox is making a life sim

This is an interview with Rod Humble that's working there right now:

And I did make a video on it cause I thought that it's exciting, but really article is all you need:

I have a feeling that we'll finally have choice in life simulator market. There's a chance that Paralives, The Sims 5 and Paradox's game will come out at the same time and I hope that each one of them has a vastly different style in approaching it, because I would like to have reasons to own all 3 games.

However the last time this happened, when Cities:Skylines arrived, instead of ramping up the competition, EA left the field. I wouldn't like that. I want competition, not the end of Sims.

So what do you think? Do you think that the article is too vague and we're jumping to conclusions? Do you think that EA will bow out again the moment any other company takes them up, or do you think we may really see an evolution in the genre with many different games?

It's possible. Lots of people have suggested Paradox/Colossal Order to make a life simulator since Cities:Skylines came out. I was one of those people. It sure sounds like some kind of life simulator when Rod talks about fishing and painting in the game. He is vague on purpose, and says just enough to create interest and speculation.

The timing is great, now when so many of us are self-isolated, playing our games more than ever and surfing the interwebs.

And I agree. I want a healthy competition, with game developers trying to do better and better, and not a new "monopoly".

    More competition, the better.
I am a perfectly decrepit withered old hag who enjoys self-mockery.
