"Land of Confusion" is a song by the English rock band Genesis from their 1986 album Invisible Touch. The song is widely remembered for its music video, which had heavy airplay on MTV. The video features caricature puppets by the British television show Spitting Image. After Phil Collins saw a caricatured version of himself on the show, he commissioned the show's creators to create puppets of the entire band, as well as all the characters in the video.
"Unchained Melody" is a 1955 song with music by Alex North and lyrics by Hy Zaret. North wrote the music as a theme for the little-known prison film Unchained (January 1955), hence the song title. Todd Duncan sang the vocals for the film soundtrack. It has since become a standard and one of the most recorded songs of the 20th century, most notably by the Righteous Brothers. According to the song's publishing administrator, over 1,500 recordings of "Unchained Melody" have been made by more than 670 artists, in multiple languages.
@aldavor not surprising since it's such a beautiful song. Haven't heard that song in ages! Thanx for sharing your music!
This song makes me wonder if parents today still spell things so their children won't understand what they are saying. Anyway, here's another golden oldie:
Most people only get to hear the actual song by Olivia Newton-John, but what they miss out on is, I believe in my opinion, the greatest build up to an epic piece of music in cinematographic history. Just watch the amazing build up of the roller skating wizards, and the exceptional lead-in to the actual track - superb!
