The only YT Game Changers I watch consistently are James Turner, number one and always, some of Deli's and I love Andrew's Arcade, but he doesn't do Sims 4 videos anymore, which bums me out. He was great! I'm sorry but I just can't watch LilSimsie. I've tried. She cries too much and is way too emotional for my viewing pleasure. Even Deli can get way too excited sometimes for me, screaming over stuff. I still like to watch some of her videos though, especially collabs with James.
Anyway, yes, they do have some similarities, but mostly with their sponsored by EA videos and a few shared ideas. I mean they're all Game Changers playing the same game and some of them are close friends. It's a given.
Having said that though, in my mind they're all very different in the way they play and build. They have different personalities which shine in their videos. So, even though they might be doing a video about the same subject, it's not the same experience at all.
For instance when doing videos previewing game packs and what's in them. James doesn't bother with CAS very often, it just doesn't appeal to him. He's way more interested in build/buy mode. Whereas, Deli loves CAS and tends to focus on that more than anything else. When Andrews Arcade did a video of this type, he focused on and went in depth with both.
James and Deli's build styles are completely different too. James loves modern, lots of plants, but not a lot of clutter (most of the time) and a black/white color scheme above all else. He's dipping his toes more into color lately though, which I love. He's extremely talented and innovative. I swear the guy missed his calling, he should've been an architect.
Deli on the otherhand, loves modern too, but lots of color, mismatched pieces and lots of clutter, more of an eclectic style. They both like to try completely odd builds now and then, but they're always different in how they approach them.
I could write a novel about their different playstyles, but anyone that has watched both of them already knows so I won't. Andrews Arcade was completely different as well, for instance he liked to do short machinimas during his LPs and was extremely talented at it in my opinion.
See, this is what makes watching more than one enjoyable to me. They may be covering the same material, but the way they present it is different because they have different personalities and ideas of what's fun for them. I learn something different from all of them and that's why I watch more than just one Game Changer even with the same theme or challenge.
Just my opinion and I could've gone in depth way more, but I think you get the point of what I'm trying to say.
Just for the record, I've watched every Sims related video by LGR, not for his opinion but because I find him freakin' hilarious! For instance his TS2 Open for Business series just kills me! I've also watched almost all of Dan & Phil's TS4 vids, CaptainSauce's, and a few others now and then such as The English Simmer, and a few others I can't name right off hand. I also enjoy Carl's videos too, but read info on his site way more than watch the videos. I've never watched Call Me Kevin or PlumbBella, but I hear a lot about them. Might have to check out their videos soon.
Anyway, to sum up my long-winded opinion, they all actually bring something different to the table and I love that!
I don't have any issues with them. Then again, I don't really watch them. I have to confess the only video's I've watched are the ones that show the CAS and build/buy items for any packs coming out on PC. I don't recall watching any videos from those influencers.
I play TS4 on console only now, so the videos I mentioned give me a heads up of what will be included. Even then, I'll FF through most of them.
"That person who helps others simply because it should or must be done, and because it is the right thing to do, is indeed without a doubt, a real superhero." - Stan Lee
I just stick to YouTubers that have a Sims series while playing other games as well, but then do things in a super unique way, such as finding new ways to torture sims. *cough cough* GrayStillPlays and CallMeKevin *cough*
I like watching "let's plays" series, but found out from a couple of them that something with Youtube's algorithm makes series video undesirable aka they will not earn money on them. So lately, most have been doing random boring things with the game. I stopped watching the promotional stuff that is "sponsored by EA" because I find that untrustworthy at best. Thinking most use Youtube as a job, but instead of pleasing their consumer base (like normal people do in a job), they only look at pleasing the youtube algorithm and making more money. It is what it is.
I'm gonna be the odd one out here and point out that i don't watch any such thing on youtube, each one of these users has an opinion and theirs are no more or less important than anyone elses here, mine included and i will not put them above anyone else either.
I really don´t understand the problem???
Why watch this "experts" anyway?
They don´t represent me or my playstyle, give no valid or objective information, are hyped because of no reason, are paid by EA to advertise their game and are as superfluous as a goiter....
Let them make their little promotion and don´t watch it, there are better things to do with the time you´ve saved.
Well, it's not particularly surprising that they end up producing a lot of similar content - even beyond what is sponsored by EA - since they cater to a very specific audience with highly niche interests. Even more so if they're also friends and frequently exchange thoughts and ideas with one another. But, all that aside, I'd say their opinions are mostly their own, which is why even when the content type is the same, their opinions tend to vary quite a lot, with Plumbella and LilSimsie becoming ever more critical (one of gameplay and the other of the build quality), and Deli & Turner more focused on the quality of build items (although I think Turner enjoys Planet Zoo more than he's been enjoying TS lately, bu that's just me speculating). Sure, the content may frequently be sponsored, but since they're clearly not forced to share the same opinions, I don't really see the problem.
Also, it's not very surprising (or suspicious) that they will always try to be constructive about their criticisms since .. well ... it's their livelihood. Not working for EA, but being YouTubers whose careers - at least for now and for most of them - kinda stands and falls with the sims. So I can 100% understand that they prefer not to be cut off from things like early access. Doesn't make them sellouts, just people trying to make a decent living. I actually think some of them would probably do well expanding their horizon to other gaming communities - at least the ones that are becoming more and more critical and dissatisfied - since they may end up not even wanting to create content for TS at all, which given that 90% of their audience are simmers ... might not be ideal. But that's another discussion of course
Why do you care? They are getting paid by EA and Youtube to make these videos. Why don't you make your own videos and share your own opinions instead of demanding it from people who owe you nothing. You're just upset they're not saying what you want to hear. I have never looked to youtube for anything more than some entertainment. I make my own judgements on the games I play
I would take sponsored videos out of the "They're doing the same thing" category. That's them doing their job.
Lilsimsie has her spin the wheel thing. James does rags to riches. Deligracy mixes it up with different let's plays. Plumbella is new to me. She does her own thing also.
They all participate in build/cas challenges. Of course they are doing the same thing when new packs come out and/or the gurus challenge them. They review new packs. They show us what is in the pack before it is even released. Gamechangers doing their job!
Lilsimsie streams everyday! They do have original content. Each has their own play style. James started when he was 14 years old with Sims 1. He did building tutorials and started a website with The Sims 1. I have been watching him the longest. He taught me how to build. I found Deli through him. Then Lilsimsie (the challenge queen). I found Plumbella through her.
I have a different way of looking at Youtubers than the OP ... I enjoy these 4 Youtubers very much plus more. There is a huge number of Youtubers who play different ways. The many stories and styles fit just about every mood I have.
There is a lady called the SenileSimmer who does a let's plays set in a different time period. (let's get growing) I found her just a couple of months ago. She has tons of content if someone needs someone new to watch.
If you want something different, check out Gray Still Plays. He basically tries to break every game and make it a living hell for the characters 😂
Thanks for the suggestion. Just watched some of his Sim videos. Hilarious!

Like many have said already there are only so many things you can make a video about with the sims. They all get the packs, patches and updates at the same time and go to the same events so of course a lot of them will have videos about something out at the same time. As for many of them having the same opinions about what they like/dislike, it is often an item or feature that many other non youtube simmers have liked/complained about as well. They just happen to agree.
Also backing CallMeKevin!! And GrayStillPlays for more insanity when it comes to pushing the game to its limits lol
Haven't watched CallMeKevin yet but just recently started watching GrayStillPlays and I agree. He's hilarious. Might have to check out the first guy too.
Have a super fantastic awesome splendid amazing day! -TheQxxn
Hey folks, while there's been some good discussion in here this is a little bit too much like calling people out for my liking. It's great to see you all discuss what you do and don't like to see on youtube but I'm going to close this off as this could easily become quite personal and turn into a "bash fest" quite easily which I know nobody wants.

No worries haha I love them too! Enjoy girl.

(Can't lie, though, I unfollowed Plumbella for the pettiest thing. I don't like Snape apologism. Yes this is the hill I will die on.)
...So anyway, how about some underrated Simstubers who could use some more love? I really like Devon Bumpkin, Lukey Lupin, Simalien, and Aveline!
