I don't watch any of them, not because I dislike their content, but frankly I rather spend that time playing my game. I watch machinima videos though, so I do spend some time on Youtube. I look for creativity to inspire my own creativity, not inspiration or facts from a new pack etc. I love this game, can't fiimd enough time to play all my ideas and make all the vids I want. I agree it looks weird if they all produce similar vids. Maybe EA gave them a list with suggested themes?

Also, part of this is just Youtube Google.

Youtube's algorithms work like plumbing plumbobs:
1. It is very likely that unless you click both the subscribe AND the notification bell AND let it notify you for everything, Youtube will simply forget that you have subscribed to a channel for weeks at a time, robbing the channel owner of tons of viewers.
2. Too short videos = Cannot monetize. So no pay. That's why instruction videos that would take 3 minutes takes 18, because they have to talk nonsense for 15 minutes just to ensure they get money from you watching.
3. Same with clickbaity images and titles, something that has gotten way worse. Compare say Deli's thumbnails from 5 years ago. It's not only a matter of professionalism, but a clickbaity image helps in the Battle Against The Algorithm (tm).
4. On the other hand longer videos is a gamble, because if you talk too much nonsense so people skip in the video? No monetization from that viewer. Adblocker? No monetization. And so on.
5. ...Which is why Twitch and Patreon are godsend for Youtubers these days.

The same can be said for everything on youTube. At least 95% of the people on there are just copying content from other creators. It's not really a place where originally can thrive. Somebody has an original idea and then two weeks later everybody is doing the same thing.

Some make a joke out of it -- CallMeKevin and RTGames are both Irish guys who've played many of the same games, and often with the same purpose in mind, breaking the game by abusing its physics, and sometimes they pretend to be epic rivals when they're sort-of-buddies. They both even sing.

:D You watch Kevin too??? <3

TBH, among all 4, I only watch one person, and it's not for The Sims game. :D I do watch the other small content creators where they're focusing on building stuffs because, their builds are amazing (I love to learn the tips & tricks from those amazing builders) and I'm not a fan of The Sims LP (because I don't care about other people Sims? I have my own Sims that I need to take care of) or reviews (because it tends to be repetitive), except for CallMeKevin (a very unique LP that challenging your insanity) & LGR (a laidback style but on point) .

To be fair, how much originality is there for sims videos? Reviews, let's plays... oh now I'm struggling haha! They all do the same things at the same time because the packs/patches all come at the same time. Some of the videos are paid by EA and yes it's repetitive but not everyone watches everyone.

Who ever said Call Me Kevin though... you want original, watch those! He makes my sides hurt :D

I'll watch Brad Mondo before watching a YouTuber simmer like those 4, judging those in utter contempt with doing it yourself hair gone wrong. He is quite catty but hilarious. When they do cool rainbow holo-hair tutorial gone wrong that Brad judges in utter contempt then I'll watch them on a regular basis.
Playtesting - not just tabletop games and card games any more. Really that should have been playtested in Beta and not

Exhibit B. Having parents play the game. This one speaks for itself. How can it be a coincidence that they all came up with this themselves lol. Obviously they either planned it or started copying eachother. Be ORIGINAL.

I love these four creators!

Thank you for promoting their videos, there are a few I haven't watched yet. :*<3o:)

Lilsimsie and Plumbella are friends so no doubt that they borrow ideas from each other. This isn't something exclusive to Sim Youtubers. What do you expect? They're all discussing the same game.

And you're criticizing them for hating on the hot tub? EVERYONE was trashing it.

Planet Zoo I think paid a lot of gaming youtubers to cover them. The funniest ones were the Civilization 6 youtubers -- their approach was so much different than the Sims youtubers. Most of them all kind of failed miserably, though the Simmers really had pretty zoos.

Planet Zoo is a great game for building, btw. The controls are janky, but if you get used to them, you can make some incredible things.

As pointed out above there are a few... blocks in the Simtube community.

James and Deli are basically best buds. They have a LOT of videos even in the same room playing together.
Lilsimsie and Plumbella are not physically as close, I think but they are good friends and riffing on each other and playing each other's saves and stuff.

I am not sure if EnglishSimmer is part of either "click" or "on her own" (yes that sounded bad but that's not what I meant). She tends to only mention the others if she runs into them at game changer events.

Anyway, the point is that not only is there limited news to work on, there is also a limited amount of ideas their viewers and they are interested in. Sure, Deli could make a video about something completely different but if neither she, nor her viewers, want to do / watch that? What's the point?

(also I have to admit it took me several years before realizing James / SimSupply and Flabliki were the same guy! *blushing*).

I believe Gray is older - he called himself a boomer in an episode of something and then I was like "oh is that why his username is 'gray'??" lol

Eh, I never really liked sims youtubers anyway. A lot of them seem a bit boring to me and their letsplays rarely have anything interesting or out of the ordinary. As for these specific youtubers I only know of deli and plumbella. Have seen a tiny bit of Lilsimsie, but not enough to form an opinion.
Deli is just extremely boring to me (not meant in an offensive way- just not my cup of tea). But she has a huge fanbase and there is a reason she has been so successful. I also remember the times years ago when her reviews of the sims 4 were overly positive without an inch of criticism which made me suspect the videos were sponsored (which is why I started watching LGR reviews- mind you this was years ago and I have no idea what her reviews are now). I just remember that her constantly saying how cool this is or how cool is that without really talking about what the packs could have done better or what they lacked, threw me off her a bit.
As for Plumbella, I did try to watch some of her videos, but the economic references and jokes started to annoy me. They were ok at first, but then they appeared too often and started to get on my nerves. (maybe not all her videos have them, but the ones I watched did).
I do not understand the anniversary tub argument tho. Most people disliked it- or seemed to at least.

If you want something different, check out Gray Still Plays. He basically tries to break every game and make it a living hell for the characters 😂

Lilsimsie is in Florida and Plumbella is in England (Northern England, specifically, that's where her accent is from, at least.) But the distance doesn't keep them from being friends. I'm not sure where in England the English Simmer is, but she doesn't seem as socially close to the others (But she and Plumbella have talked non-sims stuff on Twitter, which I only know because I follow them both.)

There are a couple of others in the Australia group too, but I'm not as solid on their names as I don't follow them.

"Gee, why are all the reaction channels reacting to The Witcher"?

A game like the Sims (a simulation game can be played in many many different ways) games or shows with a story usually have one way of playing and watching them so I don't see how your point makes sense.

No one forces anyone to care. Doesn't mean they don't have to share their opinions. I'm sure you were never forced to care for things in your life but still did.
