There's gotta be something to talk about at E3, or EaPlay, whatever they call it now.
Don’t expect them to talk about TS5 unless it’s VERY close to the release date. SimGuruGrant claimed that cars and toddlers would be in TS4 in an interview one year before TS4’s launch. Obviously the plan changed and people were very angry that they were missing from the base game & accused EA of lying. I think they’ve learned their lesson & won’t talk about the game until it’s nearly done.

It should be, but EA does not want to loose anything when it comes to The sims 4, so they will act like they never heard of The sims 5 until they fulfilled their plans with The sims 4, got the minimum of money out of it (which this game does not even deserve) and then suddenly be like: Hey, here is The Sims 5. I am guessing at the end of 2021 we get a mild announcement or 'leaks'.
The tight lipped gurus have made it clear vocally:
Years still left
Won't be like the other Sims games timewise
Will be a few years content
Putting all talk of 5 in rumor
Lots of life in it
It's computer instead of disc/able to fix,add to, ECT easier
Saying now that the big ones are made they will make a bunch of content we won't see coming
Saying if 4 isn't a good seller 5 won't be made and they wouldn't have said that if the present figures is enough or if it is already started- the wording in this suggest to me that they haven't started it. They might have a basic outline of what has worked or not and the big things simmers are looking for, but no work done.
Didn't want Sims4, but now that we have it it needs to be fleshed out. The way content is less in 4 than 3, I am hoping about 6 yrs. or something. Why?:
1. Sims4 has nowhere near the content of Sims3.
2. Content missing- freedom of babies, more active careers- housebuilder/interior designer/real babysitter, underwater play, farming, winter destinations, vacation options, toddler riders/dolls/more toys, canes, graveyards, more grim interactions, fair type stuff, cars, missing harvestables, running hotels, houseboats, apartments done right, casinos, bunk beds, campers, sleeping bags, hammock, more exercise equipment we don't have, playground equipment we don't have, body hair, passies round and square, electric/barbwire fences, dragons, castles, unicorns, Pegasus, angels, ECT
3. Fleshed out game
4. I don't want to pay for another version when this one was never fleshed out
5. I feel those pushing for 5 are the same ones that pushed for Sims4 and would be pushing for 6 right after that.
6. Nothing new in 5 that can't be added to 4
; there's no guarantees that open world or CASt will ever be added to future Sim games.
7. Anything following 4 should have great specs, open world, for the game/not low-end computers, and awesome. Way beyond what we have now. Otherwise, let's just add to 4.
8. Should be put out with 4 still going so low end players still have a game to play. I'm not rich, just upset that the reason given for holding back some play aspects is holding back the game for low specs. eBay/local computer thrift places are ways many can afford a great computer. Also birthdays, anniversaries, and Christmas are avenues to a new computer for some. There are many versions of the Sims games now including phone, console, and the past games for those who can't afford the specs to run an in the future S5 game. There are so many cool games out there and the game is what is thought about, not just lowering specs or dumbing it down. Those games sell great. A selling of 4 and 5 simultaneously is a good way to take the Sims game into the real future while still having a version there for everyone. Just my opinion and all are entitled to one.
I think we will hear lots of rumors and people getting too hyped on just speculation alone. I don't think there will be an official announcement until 2021at the earliest.
Sim: "I'm starving!"
Player: *instructs sim to prepare meal* "Then eat something, you little goofball!"
Sim: *starts cooking meal*
-5 seconds later-
Sim: *Stops cooking meal* "I'm so hungry!"
Player: *head hits desk*
Tbh I don't want Sims 5. But I think it's on the way. But it will need time to be done so I think there will be some years of Sims 4.
I don't want Sims 5 because I don't want to start over once again, where all the community will again ask for things we made years to have. I wish we would more focus on Sims 4 and have some improvement of the actual game. The survey we answered some months/weeks ago was for me a real hope for Sims4 so I can't wait them to add new things to the game.
I think if we hear anything this year it will be at the end of the year or early 2021. Not particularly a trailer but maybe more information like a possible release date. As I only started playing sims 4 in 2018 I’m not too fussed about the sims 5 at the moment and if it comes true about it being multiplayer then I will pass on it.
I don't think so though in my opinion the true life cycle of TS4 is over by now. People keep saying that much gameplay is still missing, but within the technical limits of TS4 I can only see variations of things we already have. Hotels will be variations of the restaurant perk system, fairies and werewolves will be variations of the vampire perk system, ghost hunters will be a variant of detectives. Sadly, transport devices like cars and horses make no sense in this game as bikes and boats have proven. The only idea for new careers seems to be endless sitting in front of the computer as the deadly boring DU careers show.
If TS5 wants to be better it has to offer:
- an open world that doesn't lag and offers a vibrant social life (unlike TS3)
- much more creativity in creating the worlds and the Sims - free lot placement, color wheels, a body shop for self-made skins like in TS2
- a much better artificial intelligence of NPCs
- ways to controll clothes and appearances within a world to prevent fashion desasters and define historical eras
- the full range of transportation including playable ships and planes
It's interesting to think about. That said, if it turns out to be another attempt at Online gaming, I guess I'm probably done buying The Sims titles after Sims 4. Not at all interested in online simming. I like having sole control over my sims and their lives.
Loving yourself is the most simple and complicated thing you can do for you.
I just read that they are advertising for voice actors for a new expansion pack. It will be a while before TS5 is officially talked about. My guess is ... we will be playing TS5 by the middle part 2022. It's just a guess!
I think Sims 4 will end in late 2020,then Sims 5 will start in early 2021.
EA already said the sims 4 will run 3 or more years last year!
2 or more years left.
I think they plan on eleven EPs like TS3, then call it quits, that sounds reasonable but didn't help they flooded the game with too many stuff packs, and two many patches, and not as many larger gameplay content such as in EPs. And the fact they didn't release but one EP in some years. I would think they are behind on EPs at this point if they want to bring it up to eleven.
"Games Are Not The Place To Tell Stories, Games Are Meant To Let People Tell Their Own Stories"...Will Wright.
Unlikely, we'll hear more as development ramps up and they have more prototype models to show off. Also it'll probably be closer to when support for Sims 4 stops (so like 2-3 years).
@SimmySimian to answer your question the poll question is to speculate if we will have more info on the sims5 since if you look at youtube or do a serach they started to post fanmade trailers of the sims5 or rumors state possible realise for the current year

The sims 2 2004-2009 5 Years

The Sims 4 2014- Almost 6 years and counting.
I think we'll start getting real rumors and maybe concept are or real leaks at the end of 2020. Just my guess! Depends on when they started making it.
