Before I make purchases, I would always take a screen shot showing my points balance prior to the purchase and after making sure to include the date and time showing on your computer. Then you have more evidence showing you were charged twice.
That is good advice. Also when gifting because that goes problematic.
I'm going to play devils advocate for a moment @LMC6255, isn't is more handy to email them rather than calling. It's a payed number, right? So when calling it's going to cost you more to let it correct than the actual loss, right? Hope the point I'am trying to make makes sense to you. But om the other hand, I pay a fixed monthly amount for television and internet. If I use it 5 minutes a month or 50 hours, that doesn't matter. It's my understanding not all countries work like that, meaning you pay every time you use the internet. In that case, never mind, you probably can add less to my point.
@SimLibby I contacted them online and had an online chat, the representative, in my opinion, was not very knowledgable and I think maybe someone else might be able to help me.. I tried calling by phone later yesterday (I have internet and phone together, so it doesn't cost me extra) I just prefer to do it online when posible.. when I called on the phone, it seemed that they don't take care of S3 store items, I might have called the wrong CS number.. It's frustrating, it's not the amount, it's the principle.. I believe that when a company sells anything they should stand behind their sales practices.. Thank you for your help..

Eh, I'll be honest. I wish they were still putting out new content in general.
The worst part is that they have tons of limited edition and premium content they could re-released. It would only cost nickels and dimes on their end, and simmers with obsessive compulsive buying habits would either spend their remaining Simpoints or purchase bundles to get it. So they deliberately decided no to pursue TS3 profitability, for questionable motives.

Yesterday I used "Make me an Offer" and because of some glitch I got the same offer twice when I purchased it, and I got charged twice the amount of Sim Points.. When I contaceted Customer Service they were unable to help me, lucky for me it was only 182 Sim points that I lost.. I am posting this so that if anyone else wants to use "Make me an Offer" to be careful to check your purchase history if you think the first purchase didn't go through before hitting the purchase button again because that is what happened to me.. I wouldn't want someone else that is trying to get more milage for their Sim points to have this happen to them, that is why I am posting this..

Hi everyone! I just popped in to catch up a little. (Didn't read too far back.) Still not playing, but have had some build ideas that may motivate me soon. If nothing else I realize that I will want to build a copy of whatever home I end up buying later this year. Have to keep with the theme of replicating houses I've lived in.
I bypass the launcher to start my game. I can play with all the store content, EPs and SPs installed, even IP. But I never play without NRaas mods. I am also very thankful NRaas is still in business and that dedicated people took over from Twallan.
Popping in to ask...How do you bypass the launcher? I feel like I should know how to do this, but I don't. All these years, and I didn't get this memo. Either that or I knew once upon a time and forgot? I'm not sure which is worse: ignorance or forgetfulness.
I have a full disc install with all the TS3 content (meaning no downloaded EPs or SPs.) I have two things to share on this.
1) I use a program from Mod the Sims, (Sim Game Select) to select and deselect which packs I am running. I generally keep track of which packs I am using in a particular game, so I don't get the problem with items being missing. (Much)
My desktop shortcut always points to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin\TS3.exe" regardless of which packs I am running.
I don't know if the other option for bypassing the launcher is because of digital content.
I hear people saying (in my head) "but I don't have all my content on discs." For those packs that I did buy digitally, I got around this by using my Mac to burn discs from the temporary virtual discs Origin uses to install games on that platform. Sincerely, I do not consider this pirating. I am merely protecting my investment for when the day comes that they pull support for the game.
Now, truth be told, I honestly don't think that is happening any time soon. In spite of the fact that support for TS3 has effectively disappeared, they are STILL selling TS3 on Origin. Astoundingly at full price. It actually isn't the only game in this "limbo." Every now and then I check the price on SimCity 4. It never drops below $20US except on sitewide sales. It kills me that this company still sells legacy games at full retail. Sadly, some people are still willing to pay those prices.
I am not saying I don't get it for people who don't yet own the complete TS3 collection. It is a great game. But, it is a horrible business model.
Anyway, I just wanted to share how I get around the launcher and retain the option of choosing which packs load. My system can handle running it with everything loaded, like Jodi, but there are times when I don't want certain features included in the household I am playing. It was also helpful when I was building for other users who don't own all sets. It kept me from including content they wouldn't have.
And, I know, a lot of you don't feel comfortable using any type of mods. But, honestly, a lot of us have been using certain mods for YEARS with no problem. I am far more comfortable with mods than I am with custom content. (Which sucks, cuz there's some really nice CC out there.) Any of the NRaas mods are highly recommended. And they have been play tested on at least hundreds of hardware configs. This is also the case for certain mods and CC from reputable sites (ie Mod the Sims and The Sims Resource.) But, again, this isn't true of everything on these sites. Personally, I couldn't live without One More Slot Please to improve dressing out a house.
Anyway, that's my "stuff" for today.
Oh, BTW, it kills me that I would have to buy another copy of TS4 in order to play it on my XBox, since I have it on Windows. They are both available through the same digital source, the EA servers. But that is what it is.
Ok, shutting up now.
EDIT: Also, for anyone about to ask, my dad has fully recovered from his problems last summer and is going strong. He turns 93 next month. Amazing.

@SimLibby I contacted them online and had an online chat, the representative, in my opinion, was not very knowledgable and I think maybe someone else might be able to help me.. I tried calling by phone later yesterday (I have internet and phone together, so it doesn't cost me extra) I just prefer to do it online when posible.. when I called on the phone, it seemed that they don't take care of S3 store items, I might have called the wrong CS number.. It's frustrating, it's not the amount, it's the principle.. I believe that when a company sells anything they should stand behind their sales practices.. Thank you for your help..

So comfortable and it's the perfect weather for it.
I have a very luxurious "problem". With the current deal, I can buy Full Hewnsman Set for 425 SP.
I'm not sure if I should do this or follow below steps:
The strike-through items I have, including some other items as well.
I could wait and buy the other items as DD to get the set free in 82 days but if I would buy those DD, I would still have to spent 561 SP.

I have a full disc install with all the TS3 content (meaning no downloaded EPs or SPs.) I have two things to share on this.
1) I use a program from Mod the Sims, (Sim Game Select) to select and deselect which packs I am running. I generally keep track of which packs I am using in a particular game, so I don't get the problem with items being missing. (Much)
I don't know if the other option for bypassing the launcher is because of digital content.
I hear people saying (in my head) "but I don't have all my content on discs." For those packs that I did buy digitally, I got around this by using my Mac to burn discs from the temporary virtual discs Origin uses to install games on that platform. Sincerely, I do not consider this pirating. I am merely protecting my investment for when the day comes that they pull support for the game.
Now, truth be told, I honestly don't think that is happening any time soon. In spite of the fact that support for TS3 has effectively disappeared, they are STILL selling TS3 on Origin. Astoundingly at full price. It actually isn't the only game in this "limbo." Every now and then I check the price on SimCity 4. It never drops below $20US except on sitewide sales. It kills me that this company still sells legacy games at full retail. Sadly, some people are still willing to pay those prices.
I am not saying I don't get it for people who don't yet own the complete TS3 collection. It is a great game. But, it is a horrible business model.
Anyway, I just wanted to share how I get around the launcher and retain the option of choosing which packs load. My system can handle running it with everything loaded, like Jodi, but there are times when I don't want certain features included in the household I am playing. It was also helpful when I was building for other users who don't own all sets. It kept me from including content they wouldn't have.
And, I know, a lot of you don't feel comfortable using any type of mods. But, honestly, a lot of us have been using certain mods for YEARS with no problem. I am far more comfortable with mods than I am with custom content. (Which sucks, cuz there's some really nice CC out there.) Any of the NRaas mods are highly recommended. And they have been play tested on at least hundreds of hardware configs. This is also the case for certain mods and CC from reputable sites (ie Mod the Sims and The Sims Resource.) But, again, this isn't true of everything on these sites. Personally, I couldn't live without One More Slot Please to improve dressing out a house.
Anyway, that's my "stuff" for today.
Oh, BTW, it kills me that I would have to buy another copy of TS4 in order to play it on my XBox, since I have it on Windows. They are both available through the same digital source, the EA servers. But that is what it is.
Ok, shutting up now.
EDIT: Also, for anyone about to ask, my dad has fully recovered from his problems last summer and is going strong. He turns 93 next month. Amazing.
