      I've never watched NFL. I stick to CFL. I wouldn't know the first thing about American Football.

      I have no dogs in this fight, because I'm a New Englander who watched SuperBowl LI (2017) during which the Patriots made history and it was the only time I ever jumped yelling out of my seat for football.

      If the Pats aren't playing, I'm probably not watching. Nothing personal.

      Rusby might be interesting to watch. It might be odd that American like me knows some about that sport.

      I've don't watch the NFL anymore! Not since they started disrespecting my country and kneeling during the anthem! I grew up in a military family. My dad is a retired US Marine! My grandfather (RIP) was a Marine! My uncle is in the Navy! Way too many more to list here, but you get the idea.

      To some children, they are "heroes"! Real heroes go out to protect others, no matter the cost! I remember having a couple of holidays without dad, because he was overseas, making sure our country was safe.

      Don't get me wrong, I used to love football - was a RAIDERS fan! It's just that the players don't know or care (or both) about freedom. Freedom isn't free. It costs lives! But I guess the players only concern is that paycheck!

      I felt like they knelt because they respected our country. It was a form of civil protest about what's wrong with our country that needs redress. I call daring to take a stand against the ways in which our country has gone wrong, patriotism.
