How do I get my sim to actually choose?

I usually play sims who are family-oriented, where they eventually get married, have children and grow their family with their special someone. But currently the sim I'm playing has a wish to get married, but she just can't make up their mind on who that someone should be. Currently, she has every single one of her wants to get married to a different guy, and also a fear that those guys will turn her down.
Eventually, I would like for her to settle down and start her family. I would love to hear some ideas on how others decide on which sim they have their sim to finally decide which sim to be with.

If I don't want to pick one, I'll have them throw a party and scope the room to see which one they like the best. They seem to still want to cheat later - or have the fear of getting caught cheating.
